Kinda stuffy but the place is old and beautiful have to check it out atleast once wish I would’ve booked on a diff site though they didn’t honor the best price guarantee they claim to honor at agoda
We have been visiting this hotel for many years. I was totally in love with the hotel and its quality of service. Nothing is the same ...
Beautiful Hotel with lots of history and great location
Hotel was clean and very good. Recommend it to anyone staying in Riverside
We stayed one night prior to ucr graduation- very beautiful , old world charm & location with a ton of history.
1) There is no place to park, not even to register upon arrival, unless you're willing to pay (at least) $35 for valet. 2) I made the reservation online, paid in full, then when I got there was presented with a mandatory additional $25 "resort fee" even though I had "paid in full" online. "Resort fee" is doublespeak for "more money." This is a blatant, obvious rip-off.
I felt comfortable, clean and excellent service for dining.
The history of this hotel is fascinating and makes it worth every penny. The hotel common areas are beautiful and luxurious. We highly recommend staying here.
Same
This hotel is extraordinary, and I've never experienced a stay as lovely as this. The room itself was lovely, and quite spacious. The hotel as a whole, a work of art. I spent hours just wandering around and taking in the design of the place! I wish I never had to leave!
Customer service at its worst. DON’T EVER STAY THERE!!!!
Stayed at the Mission Inn for one night. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Duane’s. The room was clean, bedding comfortable, our Jr suite featured a beautiful wood beam ceiling. The grounds were lovely, so much to explore.
Stayed the Mission Inn for a girls weekend, such a beautiful hotel. Ate at the Mission Inn Restaurant and booked services at Kelly’s spa. It was a wonderful experience all around. The only negatives were that my room, on the first floor, was a bit noisy from a festival on the street till about 230am. Also, there was a leak in the hotel corridors, on the pool side, that made some of the hotel common areas smell a bit musty.
It is a very charming, historic hotel and the staff is great!
Feels a bit outdated but overall ok. Had a bit of a smell initially entering the hotel (smells old) but the hotel room itself was fine.
The Mission Inn is a super unique old hotel. If you like architecture, it is an interesting alternative to corporate hotel chains near the convention / civic center of Riverside. The beds were comfortable and very clean. Rooms have ample towels and cozy robes. It has all the classic hotel amenities but the services were not very well thought out. Toiletries have a shaving kit and something called a "shoe mitten" but no shower caps. rooms had coffee , cream and sugar, but no stir sticks or tea. The hotel has extensive amenities (ice delivery and turndown service, pool) but no binder in the room to let you know what services are available. There are 4 restaurants but they won't deliver food from the restaurants to your room, you have to order off of the different room service menu to have it delivered. There are TVs with only the most basic of channels. The hot tub was not hot enough to enjoy. Multiple restaurant hosts couldn't answer basic questions about their service. Ask for a courtyard room. The rooms on the Main st side can be very noisy as they overlook a public plaza in a college town. Drunk girls were yelling till 4 AM my first night, and a group with a megaphone yelling about Jesus the second night. The air conditioning system is very loud at night. In all the hotel had several minor issues that detracted from the luxury suggested by the building's appearance. However, the building is an architectural wonder and probably the most grand hotel I've ever been in. I would stay here over a chain hotel in Riverside any day.
We loved the stay at Mission Inn. So top notch and plenty to do in the hotel. Lots of restaurants around the hotel and a lot closes late. Definitely coming back.
Loved our time at the hotel. Lots of food options, and things to do. Beautiful hotel full of charm. The Beignet Spot and Molinos Coffee were great.
It took 2 hours to send a rob in the room. No cups in the room. No piece of furniture to sit on. 10 years of being a fan of the hotel and staying there for more than 50 times, I never go back there. Below standard room. A one star hotel. I'm so disappointed with the hotel management.
The hotel was amazing to explore. Such a beautiful historic hotel. One of the things that I didn’t like was that the hotel bar closed at 10:00pm. Also, the Mexican restaurant (Las Campanas) was not what I had hoped it would be. We made reservations for 6:00 pm and had to wait 30mins just to get a table! Never have I had to wait that long to especially since we had reservations. Since they are affiliated with the hotel, the hotel needs to have a better system for their guest that are dining there.
Great experience very professional love ❤️
Lighting and decorations are fantastic bit do not stay at this hotel as there are several good hotels close by. Check-in person was horrible. Heating system in the room was not working. It was blowing cold air. I tried calling front desk but no answer, so I had to go to them. Someone came to the room and supposedly fixed it but it still did not work properly. I start taking shower when water was hot, but then it went to warm, and eventually it became hot again. When I complained, I was told that this is an old building!
Beautiful, historic hotel.
The place to be at this time of the year. Wonderful staff. Had such an awesome experience.
The hotel is clean and looked new. Ênjoy the beautiful view
Amazing architecture, perfectly maintained, historic, charming, enjoyed beyond expectation. Stayed during the Festival of Lights. Just magical!! Great bar and service too.
It was an awesome stay. Hotel is like a piece of history. All staff super polite and helpful. Comforts in room good.
Excellent service 👏
Great place!
Facility is exceptionally beautiful, no doubts about that. Our room the first night was located directly across from a nightclub with loud booming music until 3am making it impossible to sleep. In the morning the manager was unavailable but we were told they would look at moving us and would call in an hour. It was 6 hours later and 4 trips to the front desk before we were able to move. The manager had still never called. Trying to order room service we were told the wait would be a minimum of 90 minutes. Breakfast on Sunday we had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated in a restaurant at no more than 15% capacity because of inadequate staffing.
It is a great hotel with great dining options. I will stay there again
This is a beautiful hotel. Very centrally located in downtown Riverside. Lots of quaint shops around the hotel seemed a little bit short staffed so it took a while to check in, but it happens.
This was a fun hotel, brunch was excellent, hotel was charming, other resturants nearby.
Didn’t even stay it was creepy af. Google it . It’s haunted
Perfect home away from home.
This beautiful hotel boasts old world charm on lovely grounds. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the staff is excellent. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and a wonderful spa in the hotel.
Great hotel, great staff, great decor, great location. The hotel is just beautiful. Many great options to eat in the hotel, Great customer service, overall great experience highly recommend.
It was nice but heater didn't work or the fridge late at night could of called to get it fixed
It was an experience for sure and was glad I stayed. Very unusual and beautiful property. Unfortunately are heater was not working and the walls are very very thin. Not one of the normal places I would stay but again glad I had the experience.
We liked the beautiful property, the amenities in our room such as the plush robes and chocolates on our nightstand made at memorable!
Great hotel on our halfway point from Phoenix to Yosemite and this seemed like a destination unto itself! The property is beautiful and the location can't be beat!
If you are looking for a getaway this is the place. Relax at the spa, pool side, or at the bar with a custom cocktail.
The facilities are old but well maintained. Staff was quite personable, quick and efficient. Old world well blended into the present. Valet services were cumbersome in the late hours, but staff really worked on solving problems. So much so that they were literally running to get vehicles to everyone.
I fell in love with this place...🥰
The only things I like about this place is the spa, the staffs at the spa, and the architecture of the hotel. Pros: Spa was exceptional smells grade masseuse was very professional and know what he’s doing. The place is beautiful throughout and complicated in design, which was fun to explore. Cons: I was looking for a staycation so I did not just look for the cheapest room but the Raincross (which has good reviews online.) However, not sure if I should have slip a $20 to front desk or something, I was assigned room 348 which has zero view (facing a brick wall by the Spanish terrace). I did not get a free stay from somewhere nor did I book it through some shady websites so I did not expect to get such a room. I was running late for my spa appointment so I didn’t get another room, but later on I regretted it for sure. Other than having no view, the toilet kept running because the flipper is old and needs replacement (which should have been caught during any sort of inspection if cared enough.) Some furnitures inside the room seems quite cheap, not the vintage European look I was expecting looking at furnitures used in the commons areas of the hotel. Also, very surprising that wi-if in the room requires a $10 charge per day in this day and age. TV in the room was the old kind so it’s $20 per movie Plus, I didn’t wanna pay for the Wi-Fi so I could only use my phone for entertainment at night. Additionally, they were playing VERY loud music at the pool throughout the day on this July 4 weekend. Wish someone would have called or at least emailed me to let me know. Wouldn’t be so surprised and annoyed if so. Overall, beautiful hotel that required significant research to get a decent hotel stay experience.
The Mission Inn is generally amazing. Unfortunately I arrived from a 6 hour drive in t-shirt and flip flops. Obviously the Concierge was not amused and gave me the most furthest room to walk over. With a problem and pain in one of my feet not really amusing. The dinner as well as the breakfast at the restaurant Mission Inn had been exzellent, the waitresses always outstanding. The room I got was on the corner to a main street. A lot of traffic noise. The air condition was loud and useless. I wasn't quite sure it it really cooled. At my house at 78 deg F it is much cooler then sweating at 70 deg F in that room.
great staff, facilities, food & rooms.
“Great Stay. Excellent location ”
We had a wonderful time. Great Stay. Excellent location!
