Good location, staff are very helpful and welcoming
Great location, decent price for New York, slightly noisy air-conditioning, room a bit small but probably average for New York, minimal hotel facilities but offers a gym walking distance away from the hotel, no pool/spa/sauna/games room. $30/day Extra fee charged to force you to drink 2 drinks at the hotel bar, but we met some nice people there (other "forced" guests).
Hotel and Location are perfect - Metro Station and Supermarket near by - only the urban fee 25 Dollar per day from the hotel which are NOT refelected at the online Price - (which include Service charge and tax ) are annoying
No
Bedding and furniture needs some TLC to keep up with the Hilton brand
Good location for getting around. Very clean with helpful staff. Have stayed several times. Might need some upgrade over next couple of years
great location and easy check in and out good service and you get a free drink every day
Great position and very central for all of our activities, we found out about the hotel by recommendation from my sister that stayed there early on in the year. Room was a good size but quite tired and dark. We asked to move rooms on arrival from the 5th floor to a higher level with a view, we were told this would be possible for the following day. Asked again at reception next day and got a negative :( So we accepted that it wasn't going to happen ( Grim view from our window over the rear heat / ventilation ducts. No Coffee/ tea making facility in the room. Quite an expensive hotel in my opinion for the facilities that were available.
Room was really nice with cozy bed. It was more than worthy this price in midtown of Manhattan.
Good location, clean and tidy hotel. Rooms cleaned very well and the guy downstairs was excellent, Dennis I think was his name. Had very little sleep for two nights due to construction work going on over the road, I did ask for ear plugs but nothing was done. The hotel did waver the hotel tax for my stay which was appreciated. The electric in the room was a little odd with the lamps and sockets having a mind of their own at times, If we were doing something wrong then I apologise.
Great location!!!!1min woke to the big station “port authority”.5min to time square. Very kindly and polite staff. Quiet aria. Comfortable and spacious room. Have very comfortable bed and shift! The hotel rooms Very clean 👍 Showroom has no hoses...(take Bath cup) Nice restaurant . I stay for 8 night, and enjoy it a lot ❤️
Why did they take another £157 when according to agoda all fees were paid?
I’ll wave that for trip advisor.
We were really pleased with the Distrikt Hotel, the rooms were very nice and clean, well presented and spacious. Location wise it’s right by the Port Authority, has subway lines very close by and is only a couple of blocks from Times Square.
We stayed over the weekend (3 days 2 nights) at NYC & the hotel is right next to Port Authority terminal/metro in Times Square district. Easy to take the bus to & fro airport and walking distance to Broadway, shopping & restaurants. Excellent location, excellent service by receptionists and Peter, the concierge. Room was spacious, comfortable & clean. Lift works quietly and efficiently, which is a bonus.
Location was great, and hotel itself was clean and modern. Room was clean and subtle. You won’t regret.
Certain management not good, lack of customer care. Lacking facilities and would not recommend or return.
The Distrikt Hotel is in a very good location; near Hell's Kitchen and Times Square. It is also close to many good restaurants and to public transport. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Despite New York being a noisy city that never sleeps, I slept very well. I had a nice view of Hudson River and the skyline from my room. Beware of the city resort fees that you need to pay at the hotel.
very clean and functional. the room is not big but not too small, you get free bottle of water every day and the location is perfect. I would definitely recommend to my friends.
no breakfast but complimentary drinks were kindly given each day.
The hotel itself was a little worn but the location and proximity to the city made it worthwhile. The staff were lovely and helpful. Price for value was acceptable.
Not worth the price per night. The hotel was in close prolixity to the Times Square and other tourist attractions but it also in a bit of a seedy area. They did offer two free bottles of water which was a nice touch, but not enough to make up for the things is lacked such as an on site gym, and functioning cable.
Very near Port authority which is a landmark. Near Times Square as well. Staff friendly. Hotel Hip, rooms were a bit small but overall is okay.
Request submitted with reservation for early check-in was ignored Air conditioning was substandard -- room never properly cooled even when turned down to 60 degrees No coffeemaker in the room WiFi was intermittent Quality of cable television signal made it unwatchable -- even after requesting tech support No fitted sheet on the bed Only bright spot was the attitude of the lobby- and housekeeping staff
Everything was fine, nothing bad, definitely nothing impressive. For the price, I'll try elsewhere next time
1. very close from Time square and 42 port bus terminal 2. clean room condition 3. kind staffs (they are friendly, helpful) I might visit here agian when I will go to NewYork again.
There is nothing overtly wrong with this hotel - it's just nowhere near as smart or swanky as the website. The rooms are less spacious, the finishings less sparkling; pretty basic, really. Our room was comfortable, clean and well-serviced, but there were stains on the carpet, the furniture was chipped, shabby. European travelers need to be aware that there are NO facilities in the room - no tea/coffee making, no water. The bar is small, inoffensive, but there is nothing smart about it. It simply does not match what you think you've paid for. Accommodation in Manhattan is at a premium, but this was over-priced. Am also certain that when I booked - maybe an issue with Agoda, not the hotel - breakfast was included. Well, breakfast is never included in this hotel! They do offer pastries at the bar, but these were rather plastic-looking, not fresh. The coffee wasn't great, considering you're in NYC. Pleasant staff, great location, but disappointing overall for the price.
Brilliant hotel, very close to Times Square. Booked a large deluxe room which was a great size for the city, decorated lovely and very clean. Bar area small but very welcoming. Overall would highly recommend and definitely choose again when we return.
Room is big compared to other NYC hotels. Location is good, Port Authority bus station just across the street.
The hotel was convenient to the Javits Center, clean, and staff was friendly. I would go back.
The rooms were clean and at a reasonable price. The staff were not knowledgeable of parking available to the hotel ended up driving around for three hours before going into our room. The manager was there did not chime in until I called back to the hotel to get an explanation for charges that were not cleared off my bill. Requested to speak to corporate office I was informed it was private home and there was no one for me to speak to. The hotel itself was nice but the staff very uninformed to help the customer. No one would repeat the same thing with the same answer with dealing with the parking issue and where to find parking. This is not a good place to stay if you’re looking to rest and not get up to times to move your car at 5 AM then go back at 8 AM to put mine in a mirror and not get any sleep because you did not get in from taking care business until 12 AM. Due to looking for parking we did not get into the hotel until 3 AM. They would not discount or give our money back.
Cons: Online check-in did not work, initially when I checked and they gave me my key and when I open the door I found the room occupied, in my new room the TV never worked properly despite have engineer coming three times Pros: The room is a good size based on New York boutique hotel standards, the location is great, my room faced 40th St. which was noisy overnight – that did not bother me but my bother others
If you’re going to see Broadway shows (or coming or leaving by bus), this hotel is close to everything. Just far enough away from Times Square to have a quiet room. Steps from Port Authority & Megabus. Clean, comfortable, modern, well-maintained & good service.
We hated the $35 day resort fee. It is a ridiculous way to gouge us for more money!
Travelled to NYC with a group of friends. Hotel was located near time square, opposite Port Authority Bus Terminal. Very good location! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Will definitely return!
Staff tries their best to make the stay comfortable
Please change the mattress... impossible to get some sleep and get some rest.
When I needed to push out my stay by one day due to flight cancellation, the hotel manager stated because it was a pre paid, that they could not shift the two night stay by a day. So I had to pay for another night. When I arrived to the hotel, there was not a room available to check in. When I stated that I paid for the night before, they said, oh yeah we have a room for you, and went in to the other room and returned with keys. When I went to the room the A/C clearly did not work and the room smelled really musty as if the carpeting had been recently wet or something. I returned to the front desk and the manager said that he would send someone to the room to look in to it and I should meet him at the room. So I did like a fool. When I went back to the room the maintenance man agreed the A/C wasn't working and it did stink. He told me to go back to the front desk and he would call down. When I returned to the front desk, the manager state, "you didn't even give him a chance"
The staff at the Distrikt hotel makes each guest feel as if he or she is the most important client they have. Indeed, with its great location and wonderful staff, we will continue to use this hotel for all our future trips to NYC.
There's no noise, despite being next to the Port Authority. Room service good. Internet would reconnect (which seems to be a common problem with hotels) but there were no bandwidth issues, and there's an ethernet jack in the wall which resolved the wifi reconnections. The only thing I really had a problem with was Fox News as the default in the hotel bar, saying things that were demonstrably untrue (at time of this review, children were being taken from their asylum-seeker parents into camps). I talked to the bartender and he said three other people had complained that morning, so I think it will be resolved soon.
Fairly expensive, with no lobby to speak of and a small, limited cafe. Location is good if you are looking for a hotel near times square, but it is directly across the street from port authority, and at night it is a bit sketchy. The staff is friendly when the hotel is not crowded, but they get overwhelmed at peak check in and check out times - understaffed. The rooms themselves, while on the small side, are clean and relatively modern, with a decent bed and a very good shower (good water pressure and hot water is not a problem).
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location with plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. Easy walking to Empire State, Times Sq (and Central Park at a push). Subway Station only 200 yards away
The hotel itself was okay. It was a bit worn down, but acceptable for budget travel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the rooms were quite. My big complaint was the area and the other people staying at the hotel. The other people will change all the time...this time it was not great. The area is another thing. It is right across from the bus depot so there are a lot of transient people. Plus there is a parole office a few doors down so my college and I walked by them every morning on our way to meetings - it was a bit strange. Beware of the resort fee - $25 per night you have to pay.
Right in the middle of Manhattan: 3 minutes walk to the subway station and to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. 5 minutes walk to Times Square. Fantastic hotel, wide room, very clean, friendly staff, quick check in and check out. On each day they gave me two coupons for drink in the hotel bar. I'll be back fore sure.
We pass some days in NY and have the surprise that their was a convention in the town in the same days. For that we payed more than 350USD (with the taxes) and for the standing is really too much. The hotel is ok and for the standard price we recommend it but surely not for this price. Good location and clean. We don’t recommend the bar, the service is not in a level at a 4*.
Nice location and kind employee. Breakfast ia not recommended, but there are many cafe near hotel.
Very poor hotel, hardy a 3 star hotel, absolutely not a four star hotel. Be ver very careful of hidden costs.
Very pleasantly surprised by this really nice hotel. Had a great view! The best part was the very helpful and friendly staff!
Good hotel, with friendly staff and great value for money. Good location too. Only negative is that the restaurant is next to non existent with not many options for food.
“Distrikt Hotel.... So many better options out there!”
Small hotel that doesn't offer many amenities. Air conditioning in room was basically non existent. Could not get the room to cool down. Front desk staff was rude and lazy. Went to the bar to order drinks, and the bartender didn't even know how to make basic drinks. No way he had ever been behind a bar before. With so many hotel options in NY, this is a one & done stay for me. Management really needs to make some changes.
