“Fantastic hotel”
We got a really good price so weren't expecting anything amazing. We loved it - amazing urban style room with a great bathroom.really good location close to shops, bars and restaurants.

“Good for trains”
Location good for trains. Pointless balcony in my room - looked out on what looked like metal air conditioning units! Loudest kettle in the world! But other than that nice room, comfy bed , nice big bathroom with good toiletries. Lots of temptations in the room like fancy crisps and wine all very expensive. Nice bar down stairs, would stay again

“Perfect stay ”
Had a great stay at this centrally located hotel. Spacious twin room, spotlessly clean. Only complaint would be that there is no parking and I didn't realise this when I booked. There is a car park close by which hotel residents get a discounted £12 per 24 hour stay. There was some discrepancy between what the hotel told us about extra payment if you went over the 24 hours which we did and we ended up paying another £12 despite the fact we only we 3 hours over our limit. But the hotel itself was fabulous and I would definitely return.

“Public areas nice, bedrooms not so”
Only stayed one night, so probably not the best reflection of a hotel. Public areas were good. Booked two superior rooms but given one superior and one standard, when challenged room swapped straight away. Second room had what looked like previous occupants short and curlies around the bath. Tiles in shower looked need a good scrub but little effort made because they were slate. I don't mind darker areas for mood but the Lighting is so poor you cannot see to put makeup on. On check in the receptionist confirmed rooms and continental breakfast paid for but we would need to pay £2 each for full English which was absolutely fine, then at checkout we were told we only paid for one breakfast per room. After explaining what we were told at check in she wiped it but it felt begrudgingly and made me feel uncomfortable. Personally I wouldn't return.

“Nice hotel let down by welcome”
Lovely room, facilities and additional items in room. Let down a bit by welcome, felt an inconvenience and not very welcoming.

“Disappointed. ”
We have stayed at Malmaison before but this stay did not quite meet expectations. The lighting is a joke, the view from the window is another building and we did have to use a torch to find our stuff. Go somewhere else if you are going out for the evening and need to apply makeup or do it before you get there. We also had to use a torch to locate the two useable plug sockets in the room. The other plugs were the the round three pin variety so you may want to pack an adapter. The other thing the torch revealed was the whole room needed a good thorough clean. Based on previous experience the breakfast is normally really good so we decided to pay an extra £15 to include it. However when checking out we were told there was a surcharge of an additional £4 as we had a cooked breakfast?!?! Considering the fruit wasn't ripe, the toast was burnt and we were encouraged to order the cooked breakfast with no mention of the additional charge, I think you have some cheek Malmaison.

“Nice Stay”
Location, Staff, the blacknessWe only stayed one night at the Malmaison, but it was a pleasant stay. We asked for a quiet room as it is located between two music bars and we didn't really hear a thing. It was a week night however and Reading is a fairly sleepy town, so it wasn't exactly bustling, and we were very happy to get a good night sleep after a long haul flight into the UK. Some people complain regarding the fact that the walls are black, but I think that's what gives this hotel it's character. Not quite as chic as the Muse in Bangkok, but it still looks pretty cool. We also passed through Reading on our way back to Heathrow (hotel is situated directly opposite the Heathrow Express) and the hotel staff very kindly let us keep our luggage there while I took a rental car back to Avis. Would certainly recommend staying here, it's good value for money.

“Good for VERY short/long stay,no cleaning everyday”
Spacious room, have kitchenette and sofa, close to Tesco ExpressGood thing about this room is very spacious, have both living area and dining area and individual bedroom room. There's kitchenette and everything u need to cook a meal, there is a large fridge and a washing machine and they will provide 1 pack of washing tablet for u to use. But u don't get cleaning service everyday, but instead u need to wait for a week for cleaning once and changing bed linen. Even unconvenient is the fact that the reception is usually open from late afternoon around 3pm(=no staff in the front desk) NOT at 12pm even they claim u can check-in at that time and the telephone numbers never picked up and return calls even after I left a message. Also the shower is coming out hot water only, I reported to the reception, they promised to come fix it but no one did come to my room. Therefore I would recommend it to travelers staying for 1-2 nights or staying monthly ONLY. Or else you will be disappointed at the service they provide.

“Convenient location, nice room”
Close to Reading station, comfortable bed, wifi in roomHotel location is good, can connect to the Starbucks next to it, the room is well designed and comfortable. Some things can be improved like the shower place is easily having water on the floor, the window surface should be cleaned more often. If the price could be more affordable then it's perfect. Would recommend and come back again.

“Disappointing hotel”
Lovely roomsspent our wedding night in the superior room. staff made no effort to make us feel special and were generaly a bit miserable. kept awake by drunks outside then woken up by trains.

“Very nice hotel”
Location and styleThis is a very very comfortable and cozy hotel, only stayed one night but slept well and ate well. Very warm and friendly staff and the location is perfect for the train station into London ( about 1 min walk ) rooms were very nice and the decor was very nice as well...bathroom was superb and the lounge had a nice log fire going which was nice on a cold rainy night. Very very pleasant stay.

“值得推薦”
地理位置優越，位於市中心，不用1分鐘就到達火車站 但可惜我的房間內沒有雪櫃，而且到達住宿樓層後，要再落樓梯和再上樓梯才到達房間，搬行李有點吃力

“Convenient location”
It's right in a minute from the Reading station. Room is clean, air conditioned & spacious. Both bath tub & shower in bathroom. Staff are good but food is fair.
