“NO HEAT BAD WIFI”
It’s the winter and my room is freezing. I talked to the manager to turn the heater on and he said that because this is a Victorian era hotel the room is never going to get warm and I’m only cold because I’m American (gaslit me the entire time). The WiFi is also very weak, mainly having to use my data, and the WiFi doesn’t reach past the first floor. He refused to refund me so I could move to a hotel WITH HEAT in the WINTER. He told me to put on more blankets and if he’s not cold then it isn’t cold (continued gaslighting).

We explained to you that the heater is on continuously between 5 pm-2 am, and 5 am-10 am ( UK local time) In your room, you were provided with extra duvets, so very strange you keep feeling cold all the time. The WiFi signal is strong on the 1st floor, so again, it's very strange you have no signal! Sorry, you changed your mind and asked for a refund and we declined politely, however, it is your free choice to search for another hotel suitable to your taste. The majority of our guests found our heating system fair and we never received any complaints.

“Reasonable, Good location and near tram station”
Reasonable, Good location and near tram station(you can take tram from airport to a spot nearby this hotel). The only thing is it doesnt come with lif. Anyway its a 2storey building only with a basement with stairs. Hotel manager is very kind and can recommend places to go visit. Would choose this place again in the future.

“Poor service ”
To get their attention we had to call every time, There were no WiFi connections, no shoes for toilet. Insufficient tv channels. Staffs are not friendly and cooperative. In a word, terrible experience that we had in this hotel. Poor service.

We explained to you at the check-in how to get to us ( by pressing the bell or by calling our telephone number). You mentioned that we did not provide you with shoes in the bathroom. This is very strange!! Only 5-star hotels provide slippers in the room. Are we a 5-star hotel? No. We provide a feet towel for the floor. You mentioned insufficient TV channels. Our TVs show all free-view TV channels. We hope you search better before you book a hotel next time. You booked a 2-star budget small hotel, not a 5-star one! Thank you

“Rustic ”
Room and bathroom was clean. We had big bags which were difficult to carry up the stairs. If we were back packing it would have been perfect. We had to park a few minutes away but that seems to be common around the UK.

“Brilliant hotel ”

“Not that convenient… ”
Feels like im just in my house . I can hear everything surround me .If you can sleep with so much noise thats fine ! thats not me . but it’s clean & the bed is comfortable. No breakfast or food to buy . You need to walk few minutes outside in little convenience store . If you get some drinks make it sure you will drink it & finished straight away . no fridge to store them in your room . Not sound proof! No food! No refrigerator to store ur food . its not that convenient.

“Comfortable and welcoming”
Parking in Edinburgh is always such a trouble. It's lovely, then, to find a comfortable hotel, with welcoming staff, reasonably priced, and with free, on-street parking to be found nearby. I'll be back in the Adelphi soon.

“Very poor.”
Toilet and bathroom was so tiny. The toilet brush was so dirty. we didn't take shower as the towels looks old and worn out. Water was leaking into the toilet from the toilet window. The heating was turned off in the middle of the night. As a budget hotel, we were not really so much but the hotel really needs total refurbishment. they are sited in a beautiful location. Easy access to buses and trams.

The GAS heating is on timer. Can you afford to keep your heating on 24h/7 at your home? Of course not, so we are the same. The towels are clean, old does not mean dirty!! We shall look at the window in the bathroom.

“Appalling !!!!”
It said online arrive anytime after 2pm .. I arrive have to wait outside for 15 mins for staff to arrive I knock 15 mins later not ready hold on can you see the sign we start letting guests in at 2.30pm onwards can you wait ten mins then can you just wait a few minutes whilst I check the rooms Man comes back quite quickly and I sign over my details including provisional driving licence number witch is a first staying in other places they don’t ask for this . Then I get to my room satisfied for the price was quite nice but place has a serious fly issue !!!! Then I get in the shower as you do but they forgot to let me know that if I don’t shut the bathroom door the fire always will go off so I’m in the shower 30seconds and someone knocks o my door so I open the door with just a towel around me!!!! To be told I need to have the door shut if I have another shower !!! Of course I didn’t bother having a shower thier again !!!! Nightmare and bad hospitality should have pre warned instead of shouting up the stairs whilst your gf knocks on the door to tell me !!!! Just to make things worse the amount of noise in that place is ridiculas and on top of that the house keeper comes knocking on my door at 10.15 am when I have up untill 11am to leave !!!! I guess no one let her know it’s rude to knock on paying guests doors !!!!?? Never going back their for sure !!!!!
◇投稿日 2021年9月8日水曜日◇Dear Patricia, First of all, you know that check-in is from 2:30 pm, we have a notice at the door plus we have information on line. Secondly, we asked you to wait few minutes, so we can comply with our checks with regards to Covid-19 safety ( clean rooms). In fact, I did check you in at 2:15 pm ( 15 minutes earlier than our checking time). Thirdly, in the room we have a huge notice on the bathroom door explaining the situation with the shower room. You need to have the bathroom door shut while taking the shower otherwise the steam activates the fire alarm. It is not our fault you never read the big sign on the bathroom door. Fourth, during summer time, the windows are open for fresh and cool air, it is common to see flies getting into the room. Finally, our housekeeper did knock to check if you were inside, some guests are leaving earlier than 11 am, she was not rude neither asked you to check-out at 10:15. When you write a review, it is polite to state the true story as it is.

You can get a private room for 16 £ Some of hostels offer a bunk bed for that price!

“Amazing location !”
Good points: great location, opposite a park, free on street parking, Tesco supermarket within 5 mins walk, also Weatherspoons and other shops, staff very friendly, was a good price and had a good power shower. Bad points: room was small, literally fitted a double bed and a bedside cabinet, the tv hadn't been cleaned, there were cracks on the bathroom floor, the hotel was dated, but my biggest issue was that the blind would not come down. I could have contacted the staff, but I was exhausted from travelling and thought it would be okay...the sun came up at 4am, which woke me up.

“Excellent budget hotel”
Friendly and accommodating staff. Rooms are fair size with en-suite, hot shower. Nice view across the park. Hard to beat at this price.

It's a budget hotel with free street parking. We parked our car there for 2 nights without any issue. The family room was big, but we heard wind howling the whole night during a storm.

“Will never come back ”
Had a very bad experience with this hotel. The heating was turned off at 4am just before we’re about to check out to catch our early morning flight. We were not able to have a quick shower before we left because of a very cold room at 4am. No one was around to address the problem.

We do though turn it on twice per day for enough time to keep our rooms warm, so we do not receive complaints about that. But this was not a fair reason to score our staff, who welcomed you in a warm and friendly manner, with 4. Nor the cleanliness with 4.Therei is always somebody in the building, there is a note outside the office about this and you have to ring the bell, in order to assist you. “Great location, helpful staff, big room and great value of money”
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone as it's very convenient to access to the city center, bus stop is located within 1 minute walk, big park in the opposite and tesco is just within2 stops. The hotel allowed us to leave our luggages before check in and after check out. The room is really big, warm and clean, much better than we expected! Very nice place to stay.

“非常に満足”
Great value for money. Small room but ideal for using as a base to just sleep in. Clean and had everything you need.

“Booked for my parents”
I booked this hotel for my parents. I don't really know what they look for in a hotel but I am as tight as a duck's bumble so booked this place for them. As you can see from the pictures, I'd assumed they weren't going to be hopping on the love boat but the room supposedly met with their modest approval. Their gratitude at not having to pay for the room certainly extended to at least not moaning about it too much. The location was apparently fine which was good because when I told them I'd booked a hotel in Leith you'd think from their response that I'd booked them into an open sewer in downtown Basra!

“Good quality ”
When I read reviews I was worried. But this quaint hotel really isn’t that bad for the price you pay. Reviewers need to stop expect 5* when booking budget accommodation. The room was small but suited us. It had a double comfortable bed, the window opened and closed. The tv was worked and was fairly sized. The shower room small but worked and cleaned us And did it’s job. The staff were polite and our room cleaned daily during our stay with fresh towels. We only stayed there of an evening, was out during the day. Close to city centre with only a very short bus ride. I would recommend if you don’t need 5* room and just need a comfortable stay.

“Get what you pay for.”
No on-site parking, window would not close and not fixed during our stay (aalowing noise and smell of people smoking from the outside into the room). Noise from other guests slamming doors (probably not intentional), bed seemed to be damaged (sloped from both ends to the centre).

“Reasonably comfortable budget accommodation.”
Ground floor room with double bed against the wall. Compact bathroom which worked ok. No sitting room or left luggage facility available but we were permitted to leave our luggage for a few hours. Bus to city at front door. Walking distance to restaurants, shops & laundrette..

Staff were very friendly and I got the biggest room in the place.
