Close to beach...maybe they must just clean up the little dam.
The view are wonderful and the beach is nice. It is not far from other resturants or a small market. It is on the opposite side of the island to the market area for shops. You can easily ride a bike or take a scooter. The rooms are clean and have A/C. WIFI does not work in all bungalows, but works in common area near reception desk.
We had no big expectations because we red previous reviews. But this place is totally awful! Dirty and smely! We had bungalow B8 with aircon which smells like used socks. Sheets and towells smelled so horribly that it was impossible to use it. Worst of all was that we had a rat in room. First night it took only few minutes of strange noise. Second night he was scraping and biting and made strange noise. We try to find someone in reception but it was at 11pm and nobody was there. Finally we found one thai woman, she was from staff and told her we need another room. She just said "oh moment" and left and we can't find her anymore. Tha last night was the worst, strange noise all night long and finally rat got inside our bungalow and was in bath( door is broken and we can't close it). It was the worst place we've ever stayed! One night was 24Eur but worth maybe for 5!!!! Don't recommend!
Holiday Resort offers affordable accommodation on an expensive long small island. Rooms were of good size inside and out, with the from area providing sufficient room for relaxing and yoga. Cleaned as offeten as you wanted and supplies of water and toiletries were provided daily, including coffee sachets and kettle was provided. Staff were able help as much as possible but not over the top with wanting you to use there services. Location is perfect for getting around the island, either walking or on scooters and is also ideal if you want to go for a run, as the roads are flat and even. We booked for 4 nights and stayed for 9, so would fully recommended staying here :)
A nice place that worth my money spent
The host did a crab and plancton tour with us for free! Bungalow is basic but the people are very nice and friendly
Good location, great views from the bungalow, good restaurant where you can also rent scooters. That said, the bungalows were not very clean, and the sheets need to be replaced.
We stayed here in June 2016 and had an amazing time. After a motorcycle accident the owner helped us and provided us with advice as well as a bit of medical care. Also, the pizza is amazing! We are definitely coming back!
Perfect seaview.
the bungalow is comfy and well equipped with refrigerator, fan and air condition. The bathroom was clean and the shower quite warm. If you bring a scooter you can drive around the island. otherwise there is a beach right in front of the resort.
Place is not cared for.
Pro's: nice view, cool island, friendly staff, food decent enough from kitchen Con's: AC does not work room hot couldnt sleep and managed to give us very sore throats. Towels smell foul. Low water pressure on shower although acceptable. Bugs and lizards in room as the room is built very poorly, large gaps in window frame and flooring. Light on porch not working so couldnt sit out at night and read. Overview: dont book trip with 'resort' as substantially cheaper down the road at 'coconut corner'- we got 4 island tour private longtail with lunch 1800bht (2900 here) ... Island is great very quiet and a nice change of scenery from Phuket- would not stay more than 2 nights unless at specific spa to relax. Overall enjoyed our stay would have been made better with nicer room!!
Stunning views, the man running the place was so nice and charming. Right on the water
It's a very good place to chill and the owner Nesto is very friendly. We booked a bungalow sea view and it's one of the best view of the island maybe the best. First there is a small "lake" view with water lily flowers and just after it's the phang nga bay view it's wonderful I would highly recommend this hotel on koh yao noi
Pros: good view (if ignore road and electricity cables in way). Nato, the host was really lovely and helpful. Remembered our names which was a nice touch. Good motorbike rental to see the island. 500 meters from the nice beach outside Koh Yao Island resort (turn left from holiday resort and after 500 meters take side street on right down to beach). Food in restaurant was good. Cons: Nothing around the resort so need to walk/hire bike to get to places to eat. Tried La Luna and got food poisoning despite thinking the food was really nice. The room was really out-dated - all wooden furniture so difficult to know if clean. No where to sunbathe as resort on boggy ground so can't lay on grass.
They are very nice, good service. Room is just ok, big but old, out of maintain.
This is my favorite place in Thailand. Located by the sea on a beautiful island, you'll see holiday resort. The owner greeted me with a smile and a welcome drink when i arrived and made sure my stay was a pleasant one. I really reccomend this place
For the price we paid (300B pp) this was as good as you will find. Initially booked for 2 nights and ended up staying a full week - and most likely would have stayed longer if it weren't for our visa expiring! Excellent staff, great location, clean rooms with comfortable beds and good showers with hot water. Will hopefully be back soon!
This is a very hospitable place and the owner and staff will take good care of you.
we got a fan room clean and quiet but bed sheet was dirty and smelly
Old room, not clean, not good services. We can check in at 5 pm coz they informed that room is not ready....
Loved my stay here at holiday resort and would most definitely come back. I feel I overpayed for my room (just in comparing prices on the island) but aside from that the bungalow was great. However, I came at high season and wanted to be assured a room, so I just booked ahead. Comfortable room/bed with fridge and tea kettle. Nice location right by a beach. Easy to rent moto from the hotel.
We were totally happy with our stay here. Our bungalow with a/c served us well with a deck overlooking the ocean. The beach just across the 'main road' which gets about one car every thirty minutes otherwise a quiet few motorbikes. The staff were lovely and helpful. The restaurant wasn't amazing and the free breakfast was only small but we didn't mind!
The staff is lovely the rooms / bungalows with sea view are so so ... Anyway good stay and on the good side of the island.
The staff were the nicest people and the most helpful that we experienced in the 6 weeks we were in Cambodia and Thailand. Yun and Yuke set everything up for us, made sure that we were happy throughout our entire stay. We ended up staying an extra 4 nights. Taking the long tail boat trips around to all of the surrounding islands was incredible!! The restaurant at the resort was tasty and cheap, the location was pretty good, we had a scooter the whole time. The best beach on the island is directly in front of the resort, and we drive to ALL of them. Rooms were very clean and private, a bit older but that didn't bother us at all. All in all this was one of our favorite spots on our journey!!
The bungalow was clean and at a good location. We rented motorbikes at our resort and explored the small island with them, which was wonderfull. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff very friendly.
When I arrived they did not find my reservation, consequently they were not able to meet the reservation choice. Finally they give us a bungalow but not with sea view.... However the location is great, and the personnel want really to make your stay very good.
This place is great value for money. Amazing views, the food is great and cheap, plus the owners are very welcoming. Good breakfast, and you can rent motorbikes from his neighbor. Wifi only in restaurant / public area.
This place wasn't so bad...definitely what you pay for. For the price you cant go wrong. This is a great little island if you want to get away from tourists and the busyness. As for the resort, it was a 2 star as its older, not well maintained but was clean and the staff were great. This place was like staying in a cabin...and reminded me of camping. There were a lot of ants in our room and some other insects also. Its steps from the beach but you cant really swim close to shore. Thats where Id recommend booking a boat tour/ trip but make sure to look around and not say yes to first person who quotes you. You can negotiate price..if they say $4500 Bht that's probably a little too much. Breakfast was included. As for the food overall, it was okay. I would recommend hiring a scooter bike to give you more variety in terms of food and just to explore the island so you're not stuck. I would recommend staying here no more than 2 nights. Nutto, the hostess was great! I would rate this place 4.5/ 10 with that being said, its not bad.
Quiet island, great for relaxing and taking some recreations like diving trip, snorkelling, biking, yoga, running or Muay Thai. Simply but nice.
Good excellent location classic chalets are basic but have everything you need and the location is amazing. Staff very friendly.
Some negative reviews on other websites just before leaving made me think I'd booked the wrong place but Holiday Resort turned out to be perfectly adequate. The fan rooms are in a fairly recently built 60s style motel block - spacious, clean, fairly comfy, quiet, didn't seem to get too hot. The management seemed to be learning following a recent take-over but he and staff were attentive throwing in free breakfasts and providing a jug following my frequent treks to the kitchen's urn. They gave us a free transfer back to the pier (this seems to depend a bit on the pickup truck not being needed for other activities). Breakfasts were adequate but the restaurant was not providing other meals. No problems - a variety of budget and more expensive eating places are availble within 10 minutes stroll along the coastal road south. I thought the price we paid was a bit excessive but I notice Agoda's price has dropped to match the 1500baht incl breakfast quoted to a walk-in couple. The aircon bungalows at only 200baht more seemed good value.
Amazing. Stunning. Exactly what I needed. I feel like a terrible person for not tipping enormously. The staff were truly wonderful.
We had a very pleasant stay at Koh Yao Noi. It's a very charming small island, away from the noise and crod from Phuket or Krabi, ideal for couples. The beach isn't great but you can hire a bicycle or scooter and go around the island. Very easy access to Koh Hong or nearby islands. We did kayaking from Yao Noi to Hong and come back, it was awesome. The bungalow was quite simple but comfortable, and they all are by the sea with a lovely view.
Resort is rather isolated. Restaurant does not offer diner. It caters for groups. We have to walk 15 to 20 minutes (in pitch dark at night) in both directions to the nearest restaurant. Resort is reaching the end of its life. Understaffed. Short stay groups of particular nationality, shouting at each others, loudly clearing their throats and spiting . . .
The hotel at first seemed to me very basic. The owner of the hotel is really friendly guy. I got friendly with him and then he invited us to his birthday, which was great. The hotel is trying to sell you all the tours, which are overpriced. You can go to the pier and hire a boat for about 300 baths for 4 hours. The tours cost ten time more than that. The hotel offers basic breakfast, which consist of sausage, egg, tomato and bread. Just basic. I came here for 3 nights and stayed 7. The location is great to the beaches but you need to rent a motorbike to get around island or to the shop in town. The restaurant in the hotel did not cook, but when you ordered the food was brought in as take away from another restaurant. Overal its nice quiet place located in heaven. In general I would come back again, mainly just for the location and price.
I made the reservation for a room there after I read a review in the agoda that same view as Six Sense(the price real cheaper). I book for the most expensive room there and I like it. For the breakfast, you should try some local food. It's good. Anyway if you expect for an expensive room looking, you'd pay for an expensive price. Here is a cheap one and I think it's good for it's price.
the rooms were simple but comfortable and clean. the location is ideal, there are beautiful views on the sea from every room. the toilets are rudimentary and the drains let off a strong stench so the door needed to stay shut. the restaurant has good food but the service is very slow so if you're in a hurry it's not the best option. the owner/manager is friendly and helpful and speaks great english.
There are many competing bungalow hotels on this georgeous rustic island setting. This hotels best features are going to be the wonderful location sitting right on ocean and the personal assistance of the manager of hotel. Without manager this would have been very different experience. He worked hard not only to book trips for people and negotiate a fair price but also to find ways to combine with other travelers to get further reductions in price and opportunity to meet some new people. The Bungalows are basic - like having a cabine except on the ocean - the room quality should be rated for what is outside your doorstep at a steal of a price versus competing islands. A few other bungalows had slightly lower prices but without direct ocean view - both the site and sound of the ocean rolling in.
Khun Thep was like a father figure to ensure you are taken care of in the resort. He made much efforts to meet your request even if it was beyond the resort's scope. I had been told, they kept the price so good to promote the island for more to enjoy. The room is very clean and the windows are netted, so no toads, geckos can get in (which i hear from better resorts they do have such "visitors"). There is even hot / cold shower at this price. Certainly they can do better to refurbish the place, and I am even willing to pay a higher price if there are improvements to the place! :) This is the oldest resort and only one with pink trees! that makes it look like Japan during sakura bloom period! The view to wake up to, was amazing! It faces the East and thus sunrise is not to be missed! View was even better than Six sense resort in some way i felt, which is 300-400 meters away only.
relaxing, recharging "The batteries" of our bodies - we are 1 month-travelers
The place is ok and has a nice view but the bungalow was very dirty so we switched place after 2 days. It's way too much money for the low standard. We rented a bike and same here, old tired bike for day is too expensive for my taste
When checking in we were assigned rooms, no cupboard or even a table in room for our bags, scaresly furnished. we upgraded to the bungalows next day, very nice, with amazing view from your balcony. Breakfast very enjoyable, free coffee and tea throughout the day, no other food served
the hotel is right on the beach so each room has a great view. we stayed in a fan cooled room. very basic, clean but kind of falling apart. the staff were very friendly and accommodating. the bungalows looked much nicer than the simple fan cooled room, but they were more expensive. overall, we had a very nice stay.
Hotel clean with nice bedroom with balconny. Everything ok.
Quiet and kind hotel owner helped us as best he could, the hotel is situated close to the sea, the island is quiet and cozy. In coup of low prise, I`ve love it!
“Beautiful and calmed place”
If you are looking for a peaceful place, this is yours. We rent a motorbike for moving around the island and it was perfect! And also the staff is so nice and helpful. Definitely, I would recommend it.
