Poor english.
good: close to the temple bad: old house, dark and looks like ghost house, bad service rush you checkout at 11am
There wasn't a staff person available when I wanted to check out. The room was clean, but the bedsheets & towels were over-worn.
If you're a young, single guy looking for fun, debauchery etc, this is NOT the place to stay. If you want to visit temples and have a nice site-seeing vacation with your girlfriend, this is not for you. I would recommend young guys get a hotel near Grand Street or Soi Farang (google it).
Pros- room was very nice, very cute extras and homely feeling. Nice views from the rooms, very close to some very good restaurants. Cons - price could be a little lower, but I’m sure because of the location it is that way. The coffee and snacks come be improved because the room was quite expensive
Stone throw away from historic sites within old Town center, hotel is very nicely decorated. Only downside was that hot water not working but wasn't a big problem as it was ridiculously hot while i was there. Enojoyed my stay there.
Great location and next to an amazing resteraunt -Old city coffee ...definately worth a visit !
excellent for this rate
nice home-stay guest house it's on opposite of the ancient temple. nice decorations and nice collections close to the night foods street. far from the center
This hotel is right outside the temple complex (you can see it from some of the room windows). Its quirky wood and decoration and fun. There appears almost no hotel staff on site but there is a great 'posh' coffee/snack shop near the entrance and walking right you come to Burundi's (or something like that) which is an excellent cafe for local foods but cooked without quite the normal level of chilli (at great prices). The bath almost worked, the place is not posh and shiny but it is in the right place, clean and fun.
Noisy bcoz of old aircon, from neighbors when they walk upstairs:(
Great location, across the road from Wat Maha That and walking distance to the night market and other eateries. Room was a little awkward but doable. Probably the biggest drawbacks were that mosquitos were able to enter the bathroom from small gaps in the walls, the common areas weren't really inviting and the wifi was not always reliable. Daily housekeeping was a bonus.
we showed up early in the A.M. and asked if we could pay to check in early. The man said no and told us to go walk around until the afternoon. We had no issue with paying for another night and I even showed him the money. He said "full" . so we went to sit at a bench on the street for 5 hours. we returned after sunrise and the nice woman let us into the room.
Stayed here with a couple of buddies. We were able to get our own room for a really great price. It's walking distance to a night market and across the street from one of the main attractions to see in Ayutthaya. I'd definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.
Very odd set up. Awesome location. Would recommend for the experience. Staff was awesome. Location is easy.
This was my second stay at The Sixty - even had the same room. The guesthouse is very comfortable, with nice enclose outdoor spaces in the superior rooms. Toilets and showers are also out there, but very private. The staff are friendly and happy to help. Decor is unique - lots of antiques, and the more you look at them the more you learn. Great location for main sites and also the night market. Stay and enjoy!
Great location, but you need mosquito spray dor the nights.
Beautiful and comfortable hostel. Nice staff and near Wat Mahathat. See u next time❤️
Location was nice. Ppl didnt really speak english, but it worked out fine. Room a little dusty, but facilities were super clean. AC worked well. Close to temples and night market. We would stay there again.
I didn't like the room. The entrance is a restroom(!) followed by which you go to your room. It's kind of small with the bed taking up half the room. The other part is where you have free room, but there were no chairs to sit. The wifi was decent. Also, the people staffing there spoke no English at all and I struggled to communicated I needed a towel. (apparently the towels were on the bed, go figure!) Would be ok if it was 300-400 but I felt 600 bahts was too pricy.
The location is great. We hust walked out of the lane then we saw Wat Mahataad. It is wonderful. Around here has market every night that we can buy some food and drinks. Moreover, the staff are nice. We didn't meet them that much but every time we needed help. They're always availible.
The host is not friendly and impolite. The man just can't stop bothering us at night for the thing which actually they don't need or they can ask tomorrow.Wifi is huge slow that I used out my SIM card internet.
cool place and the owner is super welcoming and helpful. has everything you'd want in a hostel.
The hotel staff were very nice and friendly. The hotel has a lot of character with old memorabilia in the hallways and rooms. The upstairs common area has a balcony with a great view of Wat Maha That--a perfect place for coffee in the morning or afternoon tea. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable; the bathroom was quite large. And the location cannot be beat; we were able to walk to the main ruins and food markets and restaurants.
Stay was great. Loved the interior deco and great location.
Pro's : Checkout at 12 noon. Let's us keep our bags until the end of the day, and let us us the outside before catching the train after we already checked out!
We had trouble with some.mosquitos and geckos because of cracks in the wall... net would have been nice. Otherwise the place was cute, a great location and nice staff!!
Excellent location (across the street from Wat Mahathat, walking distance from a night market). The room I had was spacious and pleasant. The decor of the place is cool. Staff is friendly and pleasant, with functional but not strong English.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We symtayed in the standard room for about 18.00 CAD. The room has an unusual layout as the bathroom is the first room you walk into, but it's quite nice. The room is a little small, but you spend more time out and e poring anyways. Plus, they have many large public areas that you can spend your time in. They have a little area for you to have your coffee and such in the morning, or just sit out and enjoy in the evening. The guesthouse is located just across the street from Wat Maha That and the park that goes with it (Absolutely BEAUTIFUL park!). It's also just down the street from the night market, that is also a must! There are also a few restaraunts near by.
Compared to the Tamarind Guesthouse, this place is sub par. It's OK for a quick overnight. The people don't speak English and the room was dark. Over priced.
It was nice to have a more homey place after staying in such basic hotels so often. The room was quite small and crowded, which made things harder, but the public areas were nice and spacious. But really, for 18.00 it's hard to argue! The balcony was a lovely place to sit and chat, but was a little dusty... They have free coffee available, but it isn't always refilled, so it's limited. The location is awesome. Right across from Wat Maha That (a must see), and within walking distance to lots of restaurants and the night market (which is also a must see!). All in all, we enjoyed our stay, very much!
As hotel room is cheap you cant expact too much...staff was very nice that wait for us till very late check in and also affort us to keep the luggage next day in reception (while we visit the historic park). Right next the hotel is very nice restaurant The old city. Minibus to Bangkok is 10 min walk
The Sixty is a delightful building on a small lane set back from a busy street directly opposite the Historical park. Many of the sites are in walking distance. There is a night market two blocks away with some excellent street food. The room I had is in very good condition, comfortable and very clean, with a comfortable bed and aircon. The ensuite bathroom was also very clean, with a good water heater and plenty of pressure. There are two channels playing b grade movies in English on the tv. Ch 99 and 100 The women who run the guesthouse are very nice and extremely helpful. They got me out of a jam when my motorbike broke down an hour north of Ayutthaya, where no one spoke a word of English. I don't know how things would have gone for me without their help, making phone calls and arranging transportation. Not good I'm sure. Do not hesitate to book the Sixty. You will have no regrets.
Such a nice place with so much charm and love for detail! We love the attraction by itself with the bicycles and antlers on the wall, antique pieces everywhere! Nice and clean and quite big room and bathroom with Thai details everywhere (sometime we think about Thai ghost story hahaha). In front of this GH is the historical ruins which is very near and walk-able in case u dont want to go to Wat chaiwatthanaram. Will booking this GH again if visit Ayutthaya next time!!
The location is really good. This hotel is in the other side of that road where are the historical ruins
Such a nice place with so much charme and love for detail! It's really special and an attraction by itself with the bicycles and antlers on the wall, antique pieces everywhere! Nice and clean and quite big room and bathroom! Perfect located right beside Wat Mahatat and Wat Ratchaburana with little cafés and restaurants close by. Not a big nightlife, yeah maybe, but normally that's not tge reason for going to Ayutthaya, no?;) Nothing to complain, thx for a nice stay with you!
We enjoyed our stay here immensely. Rooms were lovely and clean if a little dated but added to the charm. Ying was so friendly and helpful, always with a smile. So close to ruins as well and nestled between nice restaurants.
It's good to stay here, cool place and clean.
The staff were very helpful and friendly to me. My room was more than adequate for me, the bed was comfortable and bathroom clean. Free drinking water in the room every day. I liked the upstairs balcony with free coffee and crackers. The location was great. I would recommend.
Rooms are a bit old still well maintained nice size
The Sixty exceeded my expectations. It's not luxurious, but is genuinely charming, comfortable and clean. The Sixty was one of the highlights of my short visit to Ayutthaya and I would happily stay again. I had a deluxe double room - the bedroom is very small, but the private balcony is huge and refreshing. The balcony space also houses the en-suite toilet and shower around the corner from the sitting area. Keep in mind ths is a converted shophouse, so it has limited soundproofing. Knowing that going in, I wasn't bothered by it though. The location is right across the road from the start of the historical park sites, and there is food nearby. I chose to explore on foot, which was only possible because of the good location. If I did it again, I would use a bicycle. The Sixty has some, and several places nearby also rent them. The staff are very welcoming and speak enough English to point you in the right direction. When I checked in, they set me up with a useful map, and marked some key sites (including the nearby night market - great food options there).
not far from station by taxi or bike, beautiful atmosphere, very reccomended. all the sights nearby, walking distance. free snacks and coffee. quiet at night.
Situated right across the historical park. Walking distance to most sites. A great night market nearby.
The staff spoke almost no english, was hard to communicate with them. Also very sparce information on Ayutthaya was provided or available, so not really helpful. Other than that great location, next to the temple ruins, room had everything, the bathroom was a converted balcony and very hot. Not bad cannot compare to others in Ayutthaya, but compared to rest of thailand expensive for what it provided.
The people here are as charming as the lovingly restored old thai house itselve. We had the family room full of toys for the kids. The location is great to explore the city and breakfast arround the corner great as well as the night market in 5 minutes walking distance.
Location is nice and the room was clean and comfortable however there was no welcoming and receptions to talk to for asking any tips about Ayutthaya. Internet was not working and it took us 2 days to find someone to ask information about it.
it was ok, why you scrimp on the toilet paper is a mystery...renovated home, bathrooms were very hot as they were actually enclosed balconies. smallest tv in the world...not alot of towels....lack of hot water!
We arrived very late at night. Room was large and spacious though the decor is quite quirky and a little dark/dated. I think this is the look they were going for. Air conditioner worked well, complimentary bottles of water provided, large comfortable bed. We couldn't work out how to use the shower which is connected to the hot tub but felt it was too late at night to wake someone. In the morning, outside our room is a balcony which would have been lovely to sit and drink coffee or tea. Unfortunately there was only one coffee sachet for all the guests staying at the hotel. There was no breakfast but there is a great little cafe less than a minute away. The hotel is not on the main road but a little side street. You can see the hotel from the main road. Excellent location for the temples - its across the road and we could see them the balcony. If there is no staff at reception, just ring a bell and they'll come to reception as they are usually in another room at the back of the hotel.
very good location for a visit to town, clean and nice rooms and friendly staff
“Partying with mossies!!! (Not good value)!”
HMM where to start, it was so underwhelming! Booked a deluxe room, because thought may be worth a little treat for me and the lovely lady to stay at! However, the circuit breaker located about 30cms above the bath tub, (yes electrics right next to the bath!), kept tripping so the shower which fed the bath could'nt supply enough warm water to have a shallow bath let alone a shower. The bathroom window was an open pane, no glass, no anti-mosquito meshing, (yes really, simply an opening in the wall), which over looked an overgrown wasteland, perfect for mosquitoes to live n breed and fly up to the bathroom for their daily feast. Also, there's a decent late night bar round the corner on the next street, but you don't have to go there as you can hear the music until 1:00am in the rooms at the back of this place without going out. So book a basic room and stay at the front of the hotel! Or better still go two blocks north to Nature Home where I stayed in April, simply delightful!!
