we loved our stay here - simple and perfect.
We enjoy this hotel and have stayed here many times. The facilities are simple and older but they are clean and the location is great.
If you plan to travel by the public transportation make sure you have clear and correct schedule of the public transportation; otherwise, getting hotels at the Taroko area is a safer choice in case there is a reduced public transportation schedule that can mess up your plan
地點很完美,對於早上要去太魯閣其他地方的人來說非常方便。周邊的店家有點早關,但活動中心有提供晚餐可以加購。 建築比較老,所以房間會有點霉味
It was good location in the vally. fresh air, good view.
Breakfast is appalling. Found a cockroach in the bathroom.
Clean, spacious, and right in the scenic area of Taroko Gorge
Enjoyed the fresh air and view with good breakfast!
This place has such a wonderful location! It is one of the few options for accommodation within the park, and it is well worth it to stay here. It is definitely more expensive than other locations in Taiwan, but the views from the breakfast hall and the monkeys outside our window made it so worth it. Our room was quite large, with an additional sitting room, but I’m not sure all rooms were like this (we lucked out with a corner room). The room was gorgeous, with huge windows - we woke up to mountains, sunshine, trees, and monkeys. Breakfast is included but it is only okay.
Convenient location if you want to do some early morning or later evening hikes. Large, clean rooms.
Restaurant nearby closed business at 5pm so the dinner in the centre is the only option which is good enough for the condition and location in Tienxeng 天祥. 7-11 is for 24 hours but families with young children need some proper hot food for the night. Breakfast is included in the accommodation purchased and it is old style for youth activity centre 救國團 which reminded me the good old days. That means the customers put the dirty plates to the collection site and leave no rubbish behind. One of the staff was a little bit grumpy but overall the staff are helpful. It is a little pity that we missed out the encounter with Taiwanese monkey. We would love to try the Catholic church next time (which provide extremely basic bed only and very simple style).
If you don't want to spend 10K a night, this is the only alternative in Taroko and it's a better location. Rooms are nice with lovely views. Old-style sitting room with bedroom attached. These YACs seem to be some sort of government-operated hotels, so they have some weird rules like requiring masks while you get your breakfast (which was not great, especially for foreigners). But good value for the price, and again, best location in town.
We stayed for two nights while at Taroko Gorge. The room was spacious and the bathroom all good, the whole place itself is very tired though. The main downside really was the food - we paid for dinner one night and it was pretty bad - lukewarm Chinese buffet, also breakfast was poor too. The difficulty is that there aren't other food options nearby so i guess there isn't a need to improve.
Huge beds, huge windows!
Quite run down and in need of refurbishment! Poor food quality! 😢
Location: the hotel is on top of a steep hill. Not far, but steep. Otherwise, it is fairly close to the Tianshiang center. Facility: breakfast and dinner are nice and convenient, albeit more expensive than eating out. Though that is to be expected of a buffet. Staff is excellent. Room: a bit dated. The hotel is many years old. There are obvious sign of dust balls. Overall: there aren't that many choices. We would stay over again, but with lower expectation.
Fine room with balcony and great view. Good location for exploring Taroko Gorge down to Xincheng. The only shortcoming of our trip were reduced departures of the public bus due to road conditions, but this has nothing to do with the reelly fine accommodation.
We stayed here for two nights. It is a a great location right in the park. The food was fine for the price and we had dinner and breakfast at the venue both nights .
pros: - great location - our room had awesome views of the mountains - all-you-can-eat buffet options for breakfast, lunch and dinner - parking right in front of the entrance - unbeatable value for money cons: - mattress was a bit hard - no parking info was provided beforehand
My husband woke up with tons of flea bites on his arm
Simple and clean hotel with good room facilities for the price. Wonderful and special location.
Great Mountain Views, comfortable beds, friendly staffs, plenty breakfast selections! Will be back when we visit Taiwan 👍
the cost of one night stay is rather expensive considering that the hotel is old and need maintenance and has no facilities
Booked this stay as couldn’t get a room at Silk Place (stayed in 2013). Had a triple room w 2 single beds and 1 double bed. It was adequate for 3 with a good view. Surprisingly the 250NT dinner was really good. We were glad that we didn’t managed to eat at the small eateries nearby which closed just aft 5pm. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Overall a really good stay except for the unpleasant male receptionist who only did his bare minimum for the job.
The place is comfortable, the rooms are big enough, they have TV, the location is great, but the food is not very tasty or exciting.
For the amount of money (70$) we had paid for this 3-person room, we were expecting so much less. But we walked in to our very spacious, greatly lit room and were surprised by how clean, and well-kept it was! There were also sweets, coffee, and water bottles that were replenished daily. Will 100% stay here again when I come back.
Good view and place.
CP value is very good. Even no supreme facility, but it is a good place !
1. Very Clean 2. Well managed 3. Decent Breakfast 4. Best Location 5. Rooms are good. Please note, pictures in Agoda do not do justice to actual rooms. Rooms are much better than they look in these pictures. Its a good place for Families, solo travelers.
Ask for the view you want. The staff is great and accommodating. You must walk up a hill to get to the hotel so be aware that you should be moderately in shape.
The building is clearly an older facility that has seen a lot of visitors over many, many years, but it is well-maintained and staff does a great job keeping it clean. Wifi worked in the rooms, as did hot water in the showers and the airconditioning. I stayed one night in a private room on the 500s level (Basement 2), but there was still a large window facing the beautiful valley walls. There were a few small bugs, but no mosquitos, and that is to be expected in such a remote location. Room was super quiet and comfortable. Breakfast (included with room) and dinner (available at 250 NT per person) were basic, but good. I would stay here again, 10/10.
GOOD
good
Clean rooms with private bathrooms, in the heart of Taroko, easy to access to public transportation around the park and within the park. Meals available on-site. 7-11 and local food available nearby.
Perfect place to stay in Taroko if you don't want to spend that much amount and don't need a luxurious hotels. Simple and nice. Has a great view for mountain river. Breakfast is fine, but actually never met a bad food in Taiwan.
Do not expect a fancy hotel but it is a clean, nice and convenient place to stay in Taroko gorge. Really very convenient. staff was nice and friendly. A good breakfast and possibility of having dinner too.
This stay is technically in a hostel, but feels like a normal hotel. The price is unbeatable and the location is a 5 min walk from downtown. Fabulous stay and very clean center. We even got to see a movie about the local indigenous tribes at night.
Good starting point for daily trips around Taroko. Spacious Room, but need renovation. Room itself is clean. Breakfast poor.
Love the scenery around the facility! Good design inside and it’s sparkling clean inside the room! Will definitely come back sometimes in the future!
A little pricy, but there are not many options in Tienhsiang so you can't be picky. That said, while old, the accommodation is clean. Buffet breakfast has simple options to start your day.
The place is nice but not impressive. Mostly empty. Café not open. Too pricey for its worth. Not likely to go back or recommend anyone. The uphill climb to reach the premise is rather challenging.
Best choice if you do not want to splurge. The other hotel is way too expensive. Room is big and faces the Gorge so you can see and hear the water gushing. Smell the fresh and cool air when you open the windows at the sides. Breakfast is not as bad as I had expected. Chose to stay here instead of Hualien so that it is more convenient to hike the trails. The Baiyang trail is a short walk away and is my favourite among the other scenic trails. Go early to avoid the crowds. Beware of the steep slope you need to climb from the bus station or the nearby 7-11 to the hotel. Not for the elderly and do not bring big luggages if you are taking the bus here.
food (breakfast and dinner) are very simple Chinese style food. Western style is just toast and coffee.
Great location in Taroko NP to attractions and trails, and big, comfy, and tidy room. Variety of breakfast includes Western and Chinese food.
Nice Place to have a short Stay
Good size room with amazing view. Great location for walking and scenery. Dinner buffet for 250 which is fab.
Overall I liked my stay there, because the location and the view are amazing! The only downside was the staff: rude, unresponsive, careless. If you can deal with that go for that place! I could and it didn’t bother me much but can ruin vacation for some people. When I went to the front desk telling me fridge isn’t working, the receptionist said “nobody can help you now” and turned her back towards me🤣 of course no one ever helped me. Same thing at the restaurant, the attitude of the staff is the only downside of this facility. The rooms are nice and have great river view. The breakfast is kinda limited for western people, I was bringing my stuff along.
The absolute best feature of this place is the location. It's smack dab in the middle of Taroko Park, allowing you to tap into the feeling of nature and isolation. It's even a short walk from the small town it's located in, truly affording a feel of solitude. Rooms have beautiful views of the surrounding gorge, and are clean too! I loved the staff as well. They made sure I had everything I needed, and answered a ton of questions as well. The breakfast was wonderful, the live musicians at night were very talented, and I made quite a few good friends on the patio outside! I loved exploring the many stories and areas of the facility, and reading the various historical plaques they had put up as well. I wish I had more time here! It's a great place to meet new friends and relax. They also have a small convenience store with basic items.
If you’re visiting Taroko National Park and want to stay right in the park, this is the best place to stay! You step out and you are instantly welcomed by this amazing view and there are trails you could do that start in the area as well so you don’t have to take a shuttle. You fall asleep to the sound of the waterfall and birds chirping and the beds are comfy too! The bus station is just a 5 min walk away and from there you could take the shuttle to see the rest of the park, it’s pretty fool proof. There aren’t a lot of food options in Tianxiang and I ate from 711 while I was there but it wasn’t an issue! You could also have lunch in the park if you take the shuttle. :)
“Nearest to the Gorge”
good location near Taroko Gorge. clean rooms
