If you want to be left alone- here is the place for you. The staff are too busy talking to each other or on their phones to give you any service. And if you do ask them a question, you feel you are being rude for interrupting their conversation. (There was one young guy at the desk in the afternoons who did a good job). Also locals are just roaming the grounds or sleeping on the couch. The facilities are rusting and falling apart. Please don’t judge Sri Lankan food on what they give you- as it is very poor. This could be a better place with an update and workers taught customer service. Until then, best avoided, as you do not get value for money at this price point.
+ Great staff and food -ve’s This is not what it appears on the photos. It could be, but the Greedy western owners are only interested in maintaining their other Escape hotel down the road in Weligama which is more like a 5 star hotel and as it’s on the beach the obvious cash cow. E15 has obviously not been maintained since they took it over a few years ago when the pics you see were taken. Supposed to stay for 3 nights. We left after 2 and got a refund for 2 /3 nights because it was misrepresented in the description on the website and also all the major platforms such as this one, booking.com etc. I have since contacted these platforms to notify them. Ripped bedding, rusting furniture, algae stained canopies over the main seating area.... the list goes on. As it’s in the south It takes over 3.5 hours to get here from our first stay in Negumbo (amazing), and we were devastated. We basically lost 2 days of our holiday coming to this place. The staff are truely fed up at the lack of attention and commitment from the owners. There is only one way to make greedy owners take note... vote with your feet and look else where
Very nice environment out of commun. You should really stay here if you plane to go to Galle
Location is far from the sea side
We enjoyed our stay at W15 escape, however were disappointed at the smaller details. The staff at reception were slow, needed to be reminded on certain things. The breakfast staff were pleasant and food for breakfast was delicious. The hotel is great value for what you pay, but small details would make the stay much more rememberale, for example the towels look old. One evening we had early dinner indoors, and left the dishes outside where they stayed until late afternoon the next day. Breakfast chairs and pool lounges are rusty or broken. One point is we arranged our own travel to the airport for a better price. When we went out to load the car and leave the local drivers hired by the hotel were standing around, and once we left our driver told us he was harrassed on hotel property grounds as he was on their "territory". This is happening infront of the hotel reception which is an open space. They should not allow them to come inside and harrass drivers on property grounds.
I loved this place. Nice staff, stylish rooms with beautyful outdoor bathrooms, nice garden and pool area. The area around the hotel is not the nicest and the beach across the street is not suitable for swimming. But there are nice beaches just a short Tuk Tuk ride away.
Great stay. Thank you.
Excellent location to relax in a pleasant surrounding
the hotel itself is gorgeous and the staff are courteous and helpful. The only drawback is that it's not right next to the beach. But they do provide a trishaw (tuk) free of charge, that will shuttle you to and from their sister hotel W15 in weligama, which is located on the Weligama beach.
We had a great time at W15 Escape, the welcome was friendly, the breakfast attention impressive and the barman very good also. The rooms were spacious and perfectly suited to our needs. We've recommended your place to others!
From the moment we walked into this hidden paradise, we almost felt like we were transported to south beach Miami! The staff were excellent at meeting all our requests, and in providing us all the necessary requirements to do other things in the area. The rooms were tastefully done, and the outdoor style bathroom was definitely my favourite! The food was amazing as well. I must make a special mention to our host Dilum who went above and beyond to make sure we had a grand stay!
It is stylish but slightly shabby - a combination which we loved. It is relaxed , friendly and quiet. The pool is big enough to do proper lengths and the rooms are really comfortable. The outside bathroom is great fun and all adds to the unique experience. The only downside is really the food. Not what we had hoped for.
We were on our honeymoon and the choice of W15 Escape was a bit of a lucky shot - we decided to change hotels overnight. And we were not dissappointed. The Escape hotel is small - 8 rooms only - but lives up to its name. The rooms are spacious and lovely designed. Minimalistic, clean and very comfortable. There's a garden pool with nice sun beds to relax and a central open dining area. All in the garden setting. The staff is amazing, helpful, smiling and really making you feel like at home. The additional bonus is the free tuk tuk shuttle between Escape and the main W15 hotel on the beach in Weligama - we were making this 10 minute journey at least once a day as the other location offers great surfing and amazing cocktails. The sun beds in beach W15 are also available free to the Escape customers. The one thing to keep in mind is that the kitchen in Escape is pretty small so the selection of dishes to eat in is very limited.
As soon as we checked in to our room there were a zillion mosquitoes flying around. We had a lil baby so had no choice but to switch to their other property in weligama by paying extra. The mosquitoes just kept coming at us and we didn’t even stay 15 mins. Also there is no tv or other facilities in the room. The place is good if u just want to chill by the pool since there is nothing at all to do. However the staff was very helpful and made arrangements for us to go to the other hotel. However their other property W15 weligama was one of the best places we have stayed at. Absolutely beautiful location, good room, super staff, surfers paradise. It was a one of a kind experience. Wish we had booked it earlier. We got late to check in due to the hotel change and then we had to check out by 11am the next day. It’s very pricey so wish we could have made use of the time allocated
The room is nice with an outdoor shower, if that is your kind of thing. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and it's not that near to the "beach", which is really just a patch of sand.
Friendly and helpful staff, very clean rooms, nice restaurant. No proper beach nearby ( only kind of "wild one ", but 1) there is a good swimming pool; 2) you can travel to same hotel at weligama , where both the beach and surf are available. Highly recommended for romantic quite vacation
After a few Accommodation disappointments this holiday resort was a late arriving Godsend. A very modern furnished, large and bright room with a massive twin set of double (party size) beds. Outstanding menu and roomservice. Great funky beach decor and very pleasant surroundings. Could use a larger sign on the main road to assist in locating the venue. No bath but a massive double open-air private shower - plenty of room for a couple (and then some). Air Conditioning in the bedroom seemed to be working very hard and had no low setting - got a little cold and annoying after an hour or so. Simple Breakfast and toast was only white bread, could be a nicer touch to make wholemeal or grainy bread an option at a Spa & Health Resort. Attentive staff, free welcome drinks of Mint and Lime was a superior touch. So much so we reordered the same for breakfast and was then charged a full "alcoholic cocktail" menu price - but it was very good. Would only come back to Galle if we could stay here again. Mad Tuk Tuk drivers and narrow, windy roads took the toll of our sanity.
The property is nicely designed, quite and green! The rooms are very bright with a minimalist interior design. Having the bathrooms outside is somehow strange, but a good experience. Breakfast / food on the menu was very good (but pricey once you add up all the additional taxes and charges). The hotel doesn't have a direct beach access. However, the hotel provides tuk-tuk to go to their other property W15 where they have a direct beach access with surf lessons, swimming pool, bar, etc (and it is a few minutes away). Staff is super friendly and helpful. My friend and I were very pleased we chose this hotel. W15 is a bit more lively compared to W15 Escape (W15 has a DJ playing late afternoon / night). Overall, we would definitely recommend staying there (W15 and W15 Escape). Team was amazing! Thanks again!
Such a beautiful place, everything is well designed and super comfortable. It gives us a feel like private villa, where we stayed two nights in our Sri Lanka trip. Away from hustle and bustle we enjoyed our stay very much. They will cook whatever you want to eat which is a big plus. And they also provide transportation to their beach front hotel located in Weligama Bay. So it's a win-win situation for us. Staff persons and chef are very helpful.
The place was nice and cozy, good place to escape from the daily routine. perfect for a weekend. things that could improve : quality and taste of food needs to improvement. the staff was pleasant
W15 Escape in my opinion is just fabulous. A little oasis of calm. The garden rooms were just wonderful, complete with an outdoor shower which was lovely. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff could not have been any more helpful and the food was delicious. The breakfast served here was by far the best I have had in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended
We like it, but only paid a discounted price. Not worth the normal price. The service was not good.
We got upgraded to their W15 hotel weligama. Everything there was perfect. Had the time of our lives. Got a room upstairs with sea view. Room was extremely comfortable had all the facilities necessary. Their service was excellent. Staff was extremely polite and well trained. Simply could not find a fault to mention during our wonderful stay at W15.
Beautifullll place. Loved the interior of the room. And it was very clean. Staff was very friendly. Only downfall was that there was no proper sea view from our room. But a great place for a getaway! :)
Peaceful location, useful and ideal to be able to use w15 hotel for the beach during the day and go back to w15escape to rest. Quite a few mosquitoes. Manager was good and quick to help rectify or compensate in any complains.
Clean, nice big pool n view of the sunset
My boyfriend and I decided we would treat ourselves and stay at the W15 for a night, the bed was deliciously comfortable and the pool scene was terrific, my only criticism was the food and how over priced it was, other than that lovely stay. And would recommend.
Breakfast ie very good
Great place, great owners
Just a perfect place to relax and enjoy beauty of Sri Lanka
Beautiful place when first designed but now TPV has changed hands You can see it hasn't been maintained Beautiful gardens and pool area. But rooms and furnishings need replacing , fans in dining area filthy. No staff around when you are relaxing near pool for food and drinks. Manager has no idea running Hotel and no organisatIonal skills. It's a shame as place is nice but not worth price charged. staff very nice but no direction from Management. Over priced and not 4 stars . Wouldn't return
The Three is one the most beautiful 'hotels' I have stayed in. From the extraordinary white design to the beautiful blue infinity pool, everything is there to raise the spirits and lower the blood pressure. The rooms are large and the outdoor bathroom in the priivate garden space a unique facility, though some may find this takes getting used to! The staff are very friendly and attentive and the owner's presence is discrete, but accessible. To get the most out of your stay, you need to be comfortable in the presence of dogs - of all shapes and sizes! They do their best, too, to make you feel at home and added greatly to our enjoyment of our stay. We were surprised to read some negative reviews of the food - we found the choices sufficient and it was always beautifully created cooked. You would be hard pressed to eat better elsewhere locally.. .
We had 2 nights at this lovely boutique hotel which is tucked away down a narrow lane and quite difficult to find. Nevertheless the Swedish owner is very charming and the staff are very courteous and friendly. The owner has 3 dogs which are also very friendly. The room was spacious, clean and tidy and the bathroom is semi outdoor which was novel and quite enjoyable. The breakfast was from a limited menu but was still excellent as were the evening meals. The Sri Lankan Fish Curry was gorgeous and I don't normally go for fish!! As there are only six guest rooms I didn't expect to see a large a la carte menu anyway. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and if you are looking for a quiet , tranquil setting I would certainly recommend the Three by TPV. Excellent swimming pool set in lovely garden as well.
We had a good time. The property is easily accessible but not easy to find unless you know how to direct a driver who isn't from the area. This may be part of the exclusivity as once you enter there is an immediate 'wow' factor. The hotel is boutique, with an exclusive feel but is not pretentious. An outdoor bathroom was a nice novelty - but was occasionally shared by friendly insects.
We slept like queens in the Swedish beds from IKEA.Had the poolarea all to our selves. Tried most of the drinks. Took tuktuks to the beaches nearby. Had a great time thanks to a lot of helpful ideas from the three friendly owners.
we where extremely please with the service and the facilities. like in every working hotel things may go a bit wrong or brake, the effort to fix and make sure that we were please was exceptional!
This hotel is a little gem - a real treasure- which we feel fortunate to have discovered. From the moment we arrived to the time we departed ( three days later) nothing was too much trouble. Everything has been thought through -with absolute attention to detail. The pool is idyllic, the staff are attentive ( But not in your face) and the atmosphere is unique. I have travelled to many places - but would list this in my top three I have ever visited. Don't be put off by the unprepossessing exterior -it's an oasis inside!
Awesome
It's not a 5 stars hotel, it's a unique experience you hardly find anywhere else on the island yet has no typical sri lankan touch. Property is immaculate, low rise mansions are beautiful, room design is another world, swimming pool is impressive. Just great. Alright can do better re: food and beverages choice and supply. Staff attentive and friendly. Travel and stay in style at 3byTPV.
stylish villa with only nine suites decorated in white by three Sweden designers. favorite hotel in Sri Lanka so far.
excellent
We had a pleasant stay, unfourtnuatly they had som problem with the electric during one day. But we felet like home anyways... But there were a lot of mosquitos...
I would implore you not to have lunch or dinner there. Our calamari was overcooked which made it excruciatingly chewy and rubbery. Our dinner was worse - my husband's prawns were cold and the taste was such ok, nothing to write home about, whereas my devilled fish was an absolute disgrace - I was amazed that it was fish and not other object like charcoal. When we told the staff that the food was bad, they couldn't care less and nothing was done about it. The breakfast was otherwise good, if you overlook the fact that my eggs benedict were an atrocity - the eggs were completely overcooked (no runny yokes whatsoever), and posited on what appeared to be regular thin toast cut into circular shape, topped with watery, yellowy liquid which was a feeble attempt at hollandaise. Hands down the worst eggs benedict I've had in my life (assuming you could even call it eggs benedict) and by far the worst meals I'd had in my 15-day trip in Sri Lanka. I told the owner that the food was bad and he gave me a spiel about how tough it was to hire good staff who followed instructions in SL. Though I told him I had pictorial proof of the butchered eggs benedict, he did not seem interested and at no time did he ask me to elaborate or offered any apology. I don't blame the staff for their nonchalance if the owners themselves seemed to have given up. I don't expect everything to be great, but it does bother me when they made zero effort to mitigate a bad situation. The positives - the pool was clean and gorgeous and the garden was well-manicured. The staff are friendly and warm. I have no complaint about our room either.
An ideal short break. Perfect to relax and unwind and switch off from the hustle and bustle.
Its was just amazing The blue sea overlooking the pool site ,Crystal clear pool water beautiful Bath room over looking private mini garden Spotless white interior and not to forget good staff
nothing to say more!!!! it's a perfect chill out place! will come back again for sure
“Hôtel not safe”
After being out of the room, the staff (who was washing the room) stole money from me (very hide well in a bag) Bad experience
