Casa Seorak is a charming B&B, tucked away among greenhouses on a quiet path. The host is friendly, attentive and very helpful. We had customised breakfast delivered to our room. We enjoyed the spacious room with the sunken hot tub, which provided a luxurious soak after a day out! This B&B is ideal for getting to the Seoraksan National Park by bus, with nearby places to eat.
This is the second time we stayed at Casa. This time we chose family suite. It was lovely catching up with uncle Juha (as well as the Matsu cafe staff) again. Thank you uncle Juha for making us feel so comfortabk with clean, warm and homely rooms, great breakfast to start the day. We love the loft and the well equipped kitchen with the dining area!
Casa Seorak is the perfect get away from the busy city life. From the balcony of our room we were able to watch the sunrise over the Sea of Japan while drinking hand-ground coffee. Breakfast was delicious. It was toast, eggs, fresh fruit, salad, and fruit juice. Our room had a jacuzzi which was perfect for soaking in after visiting Seorak National Park (which is only about 20 minutes away on the bus). We were about a 20 minute walk from a fish market which was great. Matsu (which is about a 10 minute walk) is quite the experience. Christmas themed Italian restaurant! Food was good and the ambiance was so relaxing. Hadomun was a tranquil and modern cafe that’s right next door. Juha (the owner of Casa Seorak) was SO welcoming, friendly, and helpful. He went out of his way to make sure our experience was as special as it could be. He helped us navigate our next destination and helped us with laundry. His staff is very friendly and he was always there with a smile to make sure we were ok. When I come back to Sokcho I hope that there’s room at Casa Seorak again for us!
Breakfast served in the room. Very friendly host. Great place to stay.
We are enjoying our stay in Casa Seorak. The owner was very nice and a good breakfast was served.
Great place and stay. Owner is a friendly man. The only negative is that they have a dog tied up by their house, and it was whining all night. I was so tired that I was able to easily fall back asleep, though.
We had an amazing time at Casa Seorak. The owner, who was fluent in English, was very kind and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. When we arrived, he sat down with us, showed us a map and recommended places to visit and restaurants. He even drove us to the bus station at the end of our stay, as we didn't have a car. Breakfast was delicious, the spa bathtub was an amazing luxury, and the DVD and board game selections were excellent. We can't wait to visit again!
Comfortable and cozy in great location with excellent service. Looking forward to next stay.
I will come back anytime to see him
The host, Juha, was incredible. His English is great and he was always prompt to respond to messages. Picked us up from the bus station when we arrived, gave us a quick tour around the area, and took the time to show us the main attractions in the area on a local map. Easy 5 min walk to the bus stops that will take you to the park or into Sokcho. Breakfast served to your room each morning. Would definitely recommend!
Casa Seorak is the perfect quiet, adorable getaway for hiking at Seoraksan National Park and enjoying Sokcho. It’s a quick 15 minute bus ride to the park and about 15 to Sokcho (or about a $8 can ride if you wanna get fancy). So it’s perfectly located. Juha picked us up and dropped us off at the bus terminal (we were coming from Seoul), which we really appreciated. Light breakfast was included, coffee, tea, and fantastic scenery! Also Juha gave us great recommendations (restaurants, hikes, etc.). His English is great! The place is sparkling clean and pin drop quiet, with fantastic open views. My mother and I stayed here for 2 nights and we wish we could’ve stayed longer! I love that it’s not on some main tourist drag or in some giant resort building. We loved the intimate, friendly and very laid back vibe of this place. I’ve been recommending it to all my friends and family! Also there are very friendly doggies! One even walked us to the bus stop and dropped us off. Stay here!
We stayed for two nights and our room was on the first floor with whirlpool bath. Check-on was easy and the host kindly explained things to know during the stay. What I liked the most about the stay was the overall atmosphere. The room condition was great with outstanding cleanliness - probably the best maintained room l've ever stayed in for travel; not just clean, but also room gave comfortable atmosphere. On the second day host cleaned our room. Also I enjoyed the hand-drip coffee set in the room where you can grind the coffee beans and make your own drip coffee. Breakfast is provided to your room where you can feel the genuine hospitality of the hosts. We saw some foreign travelers staying, and would definitely recommend this place for stay if you want to explore Seorak Mountain and Sokcho city - I understand that host is fluent English speaker and accommodating your needs (pick-up etc) I would give a five star for the stay with no doubt, and definitely will come back.
Our family stayed 2 nights and felt it was comfortable and perfect for us. The host is kind and goes over locations on a map of possible places to see, and ordered delicious fried chicken for us. Don't miss the delicious and reasonably priced Italian restaurant Matsu within walking distance. We had a car so everything was easy to drive to including Seoraksan and various other places. The house is in a quiet area and peaceful but make sure to close the windows because there is a rooster. With windows closed the 2nd night we didn't hear it. Breakfast is beautiful and we looked forward to it. There's a nice coffee machine in the main part of the house that is open til 10. Professional and nice. We'd stay again. Thank you!
Highly recommend! Really nice host with superb room and service. Love all the little details, decoration of the room, especially the jacuzzi. Picked up us when we arrived and even sent us to bus station in the end. Stayed only one night here but I really love it. A mid way if you need to visit seoraksan. Need to walk 10-15min to bus station towards downtown or to Seoraksan.
Owner is very warmly and kindly for us. Here is very peaceful place, and you could relax yourself here & really joyful. Although, it was keeping raining, but we see the beautiful sunshine at the last day.
Everything was great. Juha the owner, was very kind and extremely helpful the whole time. He even picked us up and dropped us off at the bus sration. Awesome host and a lovely and relaxing vibe in the countryside. 10 out of 10!
This is literally a place I could live. The staff are so friendly, accomodating and helpful.
Juha, the owner, picks you up from the bus terminal and from there does everything he can to make you stay amazing. Breakfast is included and is delivered to your room at your chosen time. This hotel is a beautiful, welcoming, serene retreat.
Very friendly host who speaks excellent English. Very helpful for good advice on restaurants, things to do etc. Nice and clean facilities with beautiful flowers outside. Some suggestions: 1. ensure there are hangers in the room. 2. Suggest to contain the shower area. Whole toilet is now wet after taking a shower.
Friendly owner picked us up at the bus terminal station and brought us to Casa Seorak. Played with the 2 cute resident dogs! Booked a whirlpool room facing the woods. We absolutely LOVED every food recommended by the owner! Even the hand grind coffee and daily breakfast was so awesome. Will definitely be back to Sokcho soon! Thanks for the warm hospitality.
Absolutely love this place. Rooms with thoughtful and sweet design. Lovely dogs and serene place.
The owner of the house is really nice and would like to give you good advice. The facility inside the room is good and clean.
Each rooms have their individual designs with all the basic amenities and cooking utensils. You can even borrow a dvd from the main office in case wet weather cancels your plans.
We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Seorak! Felt very welcomed when Juha offered to pick us up from the bus station and gave us a short intro on what to do/ how to get around Sokcho. Location is great - There is a bus station located a few minutes away on foot. Casa Seroak is in between the Seorak National Park and the city centre and the bus conveniently connects the two. There is also an Italian restaurant very nearby called Matsu which serves hearty Italian food. Amazing room - nicely decorated, fully equipped, very comfortable and we loved the jacuzzi tub! Also love how breakfast is served to our room and the variety of it! The selection of DVDs they had was also great. We would recommend it to anyone who comes to Sokcho! Wish we could stay longer and many thanks to the host for their hospitality!
Wonderful place to stay in. Owner has been more than helpful in helping us get around. Delicious breakfast!
Great hospitality by owner Juha and daughter, transport from express bus terminal to hotel, great room interior and view, great breakfast delivered to room.
Booked for two nights and extended for another two nights after the first night. Very friendly, very clean and laid-back. We had a car and found the location (at the outskirts of Sokcho, with a relaxing countryside feel and on the way to the national park) just perfect.
All amazing designs of different rooms are surprising us, excellent services and from heart services is wonderful. It may better than a standard 5 stars hotel. Highly recommend all of you to try and stay longer.
The owner was prompt in his emails and was there to pick us from the bus terminal. The place was homely and there were 3 eating places within walking distance. It was very fast and convenient to reach Mount Sorak from here. One will not go wrong to stay here.
All the good things mentioned about the resort in different reviews are very true. Juha, the owner was very prompt with his responses to our emails and his daughter is just as nice. As this was our first time in Sokcho, we were a little worried about getting lost or not able to see him at the bus terminal but all the worries were unfounded. First person we saw when the bus door opened was Juha with his signboard. Although the place seems to be located at a remote area, it was actually kinda midway of downtown and seoraksan. The walk to the bus stop is nice so even thou it could takes us more than 10mins, we are good with it (or maybe we were enjoying the view and peace that we went very slowly:)) Most importantly taxis knows the area very well hence no worries on getting lost. We regretted big time for not booking for another night. But it's ok cos it gives us another reason to go back to Sokcho :)
Nice Place
It has the message bathtub The guesthouse is very clean and comfortable The breakfast is good
A nice retreat from the city. Accommodation is convenient for visiting Mt Seorak. The owner, Mr Junha was helpful throughout our stay :) He provides pickup and dropoff at the bus stations
Kids enjoyed playing with the dogs. Location was good as it is a short walk to the bus stop and on the way to the bus stop, lovely Italian restaurant called Matsu. We ate there for dinner the two nights we stayed at Casa Seorak!
I traveled several months ago but just getting around to the review now. Recommend highly! The delicious coffee and simple breakfast was a really nice touch.
1. Thank you to the owner, Mr Juha, for making our stay so wonderful! He is very nice! 2. The room is spacious, the view from the room is nice, especially when the place is covered with snow. Peaceful ~~ 3. The western style breakfast - delicious! 4. Walk out to the main road (about 10 mins from the house) - get on bus 7 or 7-1, 15-20 mins will reach Mt Seorak, very convenient. I wish that I could stay longer here :)
The owner is very helpful. Location is very strategic and near to bus station. The best B&B that I have ever stayed.
The host was very kind and accommodating. He had a very sweet spirit and really seemed enjoy hosting us. He showed us some good places to visit and eat as well as pick us up and drop us off at the bus stop. The rooms were very clean and inviting. Our host explained how to everything in the room. We were right next to the bus stop for example city and the mountains which was perfect. Wish we could have stayed an extra day or so. Overall felt very relaxed and at peace. A small side note, the bed was very firm, like most the beds I found in Korea however I still slept well.
We were a group of six people: a couple (husband and wife) and a family of four (husband, wife and two daughters ages 24 and 16). The couple occupied a standard room which they so loved because of the space and the dainty interior design; and our family occupied a family room. We found our space large and really comfortable. Our daughters so loved the place for so many reasons: it's heated floors, the well appointed room design, the furniture. The owner, Mr. Juha always smiled and was very accommodating. We came from Nami Island and we arrived Casa Seorak quite late, so, there was no one in the reception desk to meet us...but our tour guide called the owner who came immediately and welcomed us with a warm smile. Our breakfast was a feast for the eyes! The breakfast was served in our room. And we enjoyed the breakfast immensely. We had homegrown vegetable salad with very good tasting dressing, hard boiled eggs fresh fruits, slices of hotdogs and and four slices of loaf bread garnished with bits of ham and herbs. What a beautiful way to start one's day. We even got to talk to Mr. Juha and he was really very pleasant guy. The most disappointing part of the stay was the fact that we only stayed for one night...we would have wanted to stay longer....Next time! We will definitely be coming back and plan our vacation well so that we could stay for at least two nights.
The owner Mr Juha Hwang is so attentive, we were worried about how to contact him to pick us up while we have a elderly travelled with us since we didn't carry a portable wifi with us. In fact there is free wifi at the bus station and you can request the information counter at the bus station to call for you. I love sokcho city the people are just so friendly.
enjoyed my stay
bus stop to mount seorak just a stone throw away from the BNB hotel. recommended for backpackers. the owner is very friendly and caring enough to recommend us places to visits, foods to try, and how to maximise your time when you are at mount seorak. He speak fantastic english, and he also provide services to fetch us from the bus terminal to his hotel. rooms are huge and designed artistically. balcony has a good view of mount Seorak. there are some mosquitoes but i dont find it a problem as mosquitoes repellant are provided. homemade breakfast are delivered to room. breakfast are simple but filling and tasted good. The best italian restaurant in sokcho, Matsu if you see from tripadvisor, is just beside casa seorak. we had chance to visit and it is fantastic.
Near to Mount Seorak, 15 to 20 minutes away by bus. Also near to the city, Sokcho. Very quiet at night and we felt very safe.
Excellent room with whirlpool and B&B owner is always willing to help. We would love to stay here again if we come back to Sokcho.
Great Place to stay, the staff is great, helpful and friendly, if you visit Sokcho this is the place to stay,
It has been a pleasure to stay in this hotel. The manager is very kind, he came to pick up us at the bus station, explained us how to go trecking in the mountains (very easy and fast with the bus stop near the hotel), he told us the good restaurants where to go and reserved them for us. The rooms are cute, and having a jacuzzi is great afetr trecking. So we did enjoy our stay in Casa Seorak Hotel.
We had an absolutely delicious stay at Casa Seorak! Very close to the bus station to Mount Seorak (10-15mn away), rooms were large, clean, well equipped and cute. But the stay wouldn't have been the same without the owner, so nice and helpful and smiling. All thumbs up for him. Thank you again for this wonderful stay Casa Seorak!!!
Without having stayed anywhere else in Sokcho, I can confidently say this is the best accommodation that you could possibly find. The owner goes out of his way to make everything comfortable and easy to understand. The rooms all have terrific views whether its the Seorak mountains or the farm fields and sea. The two restaurants that we were recommended were outstanding (and with a lot to choose from, that was a big help!) And as far as we could tell, it was a very family oriented location - other families with small children were there and our occasionally screeching baby didn't evoke any slammed doors. There's good reason why this is the highest rated place in town!
good room size. clean and tidy. boss was friendly and accommodating.
“Friendly host and great location!”
Really friendly host family and great homemade breakfast! Thks!!!!
