Teh staffs were very friendly and helpful. The location is good and near to subway station, but it is a bit too noisy since they are just a few steps from those BBQ shops/ restaurants,,

I chose a single room at booking, but at the end I was given a twin room. The hostel is inside a small alley, but not difficult to reach. The hostel owner will email you map details after confirmed booking, so don't worry. Subway and airport bus stop is within 15mins walk. Frontdesk hours 0830-2430, so beware if you arrive too early or too late, make notes to the hostel owner in advance. The hostel is near to Jong-ro, Insadong, which means there are loads of food shops nearby and you can shop. Room is clean, with CRT TV, not LCD though, but good enough. My twin room has private bath room, make sure you bring your own amenity items like shampoo or bath soap or toothpaste. They have towels though, you can also bring yours. Hangers are sufficient too.

Good for a nights stay, especially if you have business at the American embassy. It's close to the subway and easy to find.

The hotel was cheap but there are others in similar price range thats way better. I wouldnt recommend it. The area feels shady.

“worth the money ”

Location wise is great, but quite far away from incheon airport, more than 1 hr by subway. it's an old hostel with aged facilities. However, with the price u paid, can't complaints at all.

“Simple and fuss-free accommodation ”

It was quite a pleasant stay at Hostel Lian overall as the place is well-kept and convenient, though the furnishings in the room were a little aged. Except for the first day when my room's A/C was not working, they had to change me to another room for 1 night before I switched to another room for the remaining nights. It was a bit troublesome but the staff were very polite and helpful about it. I liked it that the toilets within the room are separate from the actual sleeping area. Just a little point to note for solo travellers who are girls. I felt that the route back to the hostel can be a little unsafe or intimidating for girls who go back late at night. There would be men drinking or drunk, loitering near the path leading to the hostel. But overall, really value for money.

Superb stay near Metro, convenient stores and plenty variety of reasonably priced Korean and other foods. Hostel room with attached toilet is Reasonably priced. highly recommended.

location is near MTR, but the air conditioner was broken down and staff refuse to help us change the room at the beginning.

“Close to Gwanjang market”

The owners were nice to give a courtesy email after you've booked a room with them. We were able to check in an hour early, which was handy. It's located close to the market and many other eateries. It's also a block away from the stream, which is a really nice walk both in the daytime and at night. Price is a bargain so you get what you've paid for

Room was a bit small for 3 people (+luggages). Right beside Jongno 3-ga station. myeongdong shopping district was within walking distance. There isn't really much right around the hostel at night time though, unless you want to join some of the Korean men eat at random drinking stands.

“Well located; great for exploring”

Given the price, there are obviously no frills with this place, but it is really well located (really near to a central, well connected Metro stop). There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, and some of the staff were really keen to help and advise (this is not to say that some of them didn't want to help, it's just that the standard of English spoken by different members of staff did vary). Definitely seems to be one of the cheapest places you can stay in this area, so would probably stay here again if I went back to this part of Seoul. My only recommendation is that there could be slightly more attention to detail in terms of cleanliness -- the mini fridge in the room (nice bonus for storing your own drinks and snacks) had evidently not been cleaned for a long time (possibly overlooked because people don't use them that often?)

“Comfortable stay”

This location of this hostel is excellent. It is near subway, within walking distance to Insadong and UNSECO heritage sites. There are convenience stores and many eateries near the hostel, some of which run 24-hours. The room is small but comfortable, clean and well maintained. It has a private bathroom. Wifi was excellent - fast connection speed.

It was just a few hours stay yet the experience is wonderful. Although need to climb the stairs which is not suitable for people carrying big luggage.

The owner of HAHA house was kind enough to fetch us to and fro from the nearest mrt station, hongik as the location of this hostel is not very near to the station. the room was clean and big.

Went for a day outside Seoul and came back to stay again. Was pleasantly surprised when the owner upgraded our room. Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Basic toiletries were provided. No tv, but we were welcomed to watch at the main house. Owner is always ready to send us to Hongdae station as long as before 10pm. Overall, we had a fantastic time staying at Haha House and will definitely come back again.

“Value for money, with a great hotel owner”

the hotel owner is very friendly and willing to help travellers beyond what is asked. the surrounding locations are safe and very easy to find a good restaurant, or a nearby supermarket. the hotel is also 2 subway distance away from a vibrant student district. only downside is the hotel's distance to subway (around 25min walking distance), but the hotel owner is always available by phone to pick you up from the hongkik subway station.

“Lovely Hotel”

This guesthouse give a warmly feel whenever we come back from winter period. It complete with all the neccesity that need in a guesthouse.

High security system within the building with password at main entrance and at room's door. Owner speaks perfect chinese, and even helped us to arrange for food delivery to our room. As long as it is before 12 am, transfer to and fro Hongdae subway is provided. Room was immaculately clean, toiletries were provided. Definitely recommended!

“More Like Home”

the place is small but cozy. you need not bring your toiletries because it is being provided. near the subway. the owner speaks english and is very accommodating he allowed to leave our luggage to his office and we went straight to our tour since we arrived very early in the morning and the check in time is still at 2pm. what's good about is that he offered to drive & fetch us to and from the subway station free of charge. we had a great time in seoul and surely if we will come back we would again choose to stay at haha house.

we were very satisfied our stay at haha house for that 7 nights. the owner, is a very good-looking & shy guy. his has been very friendly and helpful to us during our stay. we missed our seoul trip as soon as we reached home, hope to visit seoul again very soon, and for sure, haha house would be our 1st choice !

“Full of disappointment”

We had problem communicating with the lady and we had to take a cab to the hotel instead. The cab driver was lost and I had to use my phone to call the lady (roaming charges) and they were on the line for a longggg time...) There is no lift in HaHa House. It's all staircase and we had heavy luggages. I was very disappointed because: 1. The official check-in time is at 3pm but we were unable to check in at 4pm. The room is NOT ready yet (how can that be?) I was so desperate for a bath and change of clothes. 2. The worst experience: I had cockroach crawling into my luggage. It's HORRIBLE!

“HaHa House very good service, very clean”

Innkeeper has very good relationship. This hotel very cheap if you compare with the room and service. My trip i use 3 hotels.. I think i like this hotel most than other.. If have 10 point i can give them 10 (very excellent).. I like it..If i have trip go to korea I will stay this hotel again ^o^v.. I will choose this again^_^

“Great service with millions smile.”

The attention given to us were first class. The staff provide us free transport to the subway station and back to the guesthouse from the subway. There are also a lot of food places around the guest house. The staff also updated us on the weather for the day. He also has very good information for tourist shopping and eating in Seoul. The accommodation was also very clean.

Room was too small but clean and equipped with a medium size fridge & electric water jug. Air-con & heater in good condition. Bathroom equipped with a hair dryer, hair & body shampoo. also available wifi service in every room. Very good english & mandarin speaking host/owner which makes communication more easier. Overall my stay at HAHA house was fun and enjoyable. would likely recommend others about this hotel.

“Residential Hostel”

Transport will be provided from/to nearest subway station. Happeninng area around the subway station where a lot of cosmetics shops, bbq restaurants and shopping centre.Walking distance to alot of restaurants. Cozy rooms with heated floor suitable for winter travellers.

“To us, the dorm is value”

We stayed a few days here. Very calm, clean and nice for our rest, not far from park so the environment around you is quite good. It’s far from subway station about 2 Km, but it’s still convenient to get there as the dorm owner give us a ride anytime we want to go out / in. Bath room, all toiletries are available but no body-towel, just hand towel is available. Washing machine, air-con, fridge, wifi are also available. Keyless system, the room is locked by password key in. Breakfast is unavailable.

“Small Room but Great service”

The owner of the guesthouse was really nice. Fetched us from Hongdae Subway exit 2 to the guesthouse itself as it will take a 30mins walk from here. Just have to whatsapp or call him to inform him that you are leaving or waiting at the station. For the room, I would say its rather small. Can't really open up a big luggage, a mid-sized luggage will be fine though.

“great hostel with a very good host”

Although the location is not as great, the owner volunteers to drive guests around (frm hostel to Hongik University exit no. 2). Although the room is a little small, the service provided more than makes up for it. Wifi is available for all the rooms. Takes about 15-30 mins walk to the nearby clubbing area of HongDae. Definitely recommend for other people who are staying in Seoul for a few days.
