“Not happy ”
When we first arrived we had exceptional hospitality, the staff was friendly and our accommodation was perfect for my family and I. We enjoyed our stay for the first day until they wanted to change rooms all of a sudden to a different lodge in the same game reserve. From there everything was a disaster from the room we slept in the room was small & the privileges we had was no more, it was not child friendly, we didn’t have buffet, the bed was small, we didn’t the view we had before of the animals.

“Overall a great escape! ”
We spent two days at Leadwood lodge and the accommodation was lovely. The reserve was beautiful and animals abundant:) The only thing I would recommend is a revamp of the Menu and differing options between lunch and dinner (currently the same Menu). The facilities also need some TLC. Shoutout to our Segway tour guide, he was awesome! Would definitely recommend🤲

The room didn't have a bin and there is no TV. The brekast was very basic and most of the things were gone cold.

“3 day visit”
Lovely place in a clean environment. Highly disappointing they have electricity problems. We went 4hrs without power each day and nothing was communicated on all occasions.

“Awesome getaway”
Tala is focused on relaxation and nature. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The restaurant accomodated our dietary requirements with no issues. The area is very peaceful and surrounded by nature. I was surprised to be living in the same vicinity of ostriches and wildebeests. Having coffee outside with an unobstructed view of wildebeests running around is a experience never to be forgotten

We stayed at Leadwood & what a beautiful experience we had! The place was so peaceful & ideal for relaxation. The room was huge for a room at this price. The staff were very warm & welcoming & tended to our every whim. The rooms aircons do however need to be fixed, & a tad bit more attention ought to be placed on certain details, such as the condition of the bedding & towels in the room, which were terribly torn in some places.

“Solo traveller to Tala game reserve ”
I had a great one night stay at Tala game reserve. Only one disappointment. No tv. So the night alone was very quiet. And dark outside so would have been nice to sit back and watch tv. Should consider this. Otherwise nice view of the open plains snd animals. .

We attended a wedding at the venue via video conference - it looked lovely and we have had good / great reviews from guests who stayed there previously.

“Perfect getaway”
Our stay at Tala was fantastic except the reception staff wasn’t welcoming and did not explain any details. The accommodations were luxurious with breathtaking views. The culinary experience was exceptional, and the range of activities offered ensured there was never a dull moment. Overall, it exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to returning in the future. Highly recommended!

“Incredible place”
Tala is an absolute gem tucked away just an hours drive from Dbn. The staff are wonderful, friendly and accommodating. Ours meals at Leadwood Manor were outstanding. The highlight was being able to view Rhino just meters from our vehicle. Such majestic creatures! Tala’s conservation efforts are commendable.

“Wonderful weekend ”
We had a wonderful weekend with my fiancé celebrating our birthdays. The place is amazingly beautiful!!!! Peaceful real getaway from everyone and everything. 10 out of 10. I’ve never met such friendly staff all of them. Reception, Restaurant, Activities the guys were so accommodating. The Lady from the spa Thandeka her treatment was excellent. The food was nice as well breakfast and dinner. The only bad thing is the road very bad gravel. Suggestion would be putting those usb port for charging.

Fantastic experience definitely a must. Staff were proffesional and a vist is highly recommended. Definitely will be back. The office staff and our Game Ranger Melusi were exceptional. Well done Tala!

“I wasn’t impressed when the venue ”
I understand it is not like a hotel but I would expect them to have atleast a generator to help with hot water during load shedding. I had to take a cold shower after arriving at night and the rooms are not so nice to be paying that much.

“Great place to stay and see some aninals”
We had our expectations at the right place and were positively surprised by the number of giraffes and rhinos we saw. The accommodation is quite nice, despite needing some maintenance. Great Staff!

“Water and hot water issue”
Unfortunately, my stay was not as pleasant as I had hoped. We encountered water shortages during our visit, and when the water was restored, we faced another issue with the lack of hot water. These challenges significantly affected our overall experience. I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, but I believe it's crucial to bring such matters to your attention so that improvements can be considered for future guests.

“Stayed at paperbark ”
Friendly staff. Beautiful place and scenery. Many animals. Did not know there were only dirt roads in the Reserve, did not want to chance my small car driving on some of the roads so I missed out on going to the rock pool and other facilities. Needs some maintenance though. Visited Leadwood restaurant and water feature looked terrible with algae. Breakfast was off the menu on the first day which was a great variety however on the second day it was buffet and very few selected items. Shower pressure was low and water warm on second day. All in all, good peaceful stay and will go back.

“Unpleasant experience and stay ”
We booked the paperbark 5 room and it was beyond disappointing. As a person who has visited Tala previously I am aware of the standard the rooms regularly are, our room was not thoroughly cleaned as there was quite the amount of dust, the air conditioner was faulty and repeatedly turned itself on and off during the night. Before check in we enquired about where we would be having dinner, we were told we would be having it at the Paperbark restaurant, upon arrival at 5pm to check in we were asked what arrangements we made for ourselves for food as both restaurants were closed because there was a wedding on the game reserve contradicting what we had been told over the phone. We were told there would be load shedding and that the generator would be moved to the wedding venue, leaving paperbark rooms in the dark. We decided to leave the game reserve for the night because not only was there no food available in the game reserve but there was no electricity either. Tala failed to accommodate us and there was very minimal communication beforehand to make us aware of the conditions.

“Not satisfied”
We didn’t get our bathrobes, we couldn’t call and ask because there was no network in cottage 4. We didn’t have an iron, woke up on check out day, drove to Manor hoping to get an iron but there was no staff, was told to leave our clothes for the staff to iron but we had to request a room closer because there was no way we were driving back to out cottage just to get dressed. The stay did have inconveniences that could have been avoided.

“One of our favourite places ”
We love Tala and visit often. The staff are so friendly. The rooms are lovely and clean. The highlight was our game drive with Lonely. He took us as close as possible to a whole host of animals including giraffes, buck, zebra and rhinos. We had a wonderful time and will be back.

A wonderful place to enjoy nature, unwind from modern technology and just enjoy time with the family whilst seeing beautiful animals in its natural habitat, with plenty of activities, food and staff.
