room was great , it is big. The only thing is that when we rented a bike, it was not in good condition. no headlight, so the travel was limited in time because we should not be out in the road late
View was nice. They're not beach front so don't expect to take a short walk to get to the beach. Food for lunch was limited to pasta, sandwiches and salads. They start serving the "good stuff" at 5pm. Drink selection was also good. Their rooms were spacious. After we get back from our day trip, our rooms would be clean. They left new towels without taking the ones that we're hanging to dry. The owner, Steve, was also very accommodating. He manages to talk to each and every guest and ensures that we're all good.
A very nice place. Rooms are great, service is good, food is lovely. Only, DONT BOOK YOUR TOURS IN THE RESORT because the wife takes huge commisions for herself. Just book your tours and transport in the harbour. This is bad service.
We spent there three nights, after a mistake, because we wanted to go to Port Barton. Still, we had great time here, we enjoyed two days of relaxation at the pool in the resort, also because there is not a lot to do in St Vincente. Staff at the resort made our stay much better, we enjoyed the food and drinks at the restaurant. The rooms and other facilities need a coat of new paint and other smaller fixes. Always hot water and electricity, internet was available on and off.
We had wonderful time at love&Peace, boss and staff are very friendly, and they made the best Pizza through Philiphine
we asked to cancel reserveation and they didnt agread also they give us wrong adress and we found yhat this hotel is very far from center!!
My girlfriend and I, both 26 years old stayed here for 2 nights in a standard room after a downgrade from the deluxe sunset view room. this was the first disappointment. but we've got a compensation for that in form of a discount and included breakfast, what was fair. The hotel itself was rather dusty and unclean and the outside furnitures partly damaged. we couldn't understand why there was no proper maintenance or at least a cleaning of the swimming pool (filled with green rain water) and the matresses on the benches and sunbeds (smelling sweat and getting wet from rain because the bar terrace is not fully covered). The food in the internal restaurant was better than expected and the staff very friendly but unfortunately also very slow and distracted. the waiting times for the food can become quite long (e.g. 70min for 2 pizzas) In my opinion the room prices are too high for what you get. The problem in san vicente is that the hotel choice is very, very limited.
Before I share my experience, I would like to commend the staff of this place as they were very friendly and helpful. Overall, our experience was disappointing. We stayed one night, hoping to be able to sleep comfortably before we were on to our destination the next day. The room given to us had broken screen doors, dirty curtains and dusty sheets. One of the ceiling lights was not working and had a whole and wires exposed and coming out of the ceiling. The photos on Agoda do not do justice to the actual rooms and facilities. The establishment has a closure sign as well as sign saying CLOSED: under renovation.
We were group of 4 girls and we enjoyed staying there a lot. Long Beach is 10 mins walk, food in hotel was better compared to other hotels. Wifi was working terribly (max. 1 hour together per day). Staff was really nice and willing to help. Mr. owner Steve was so kind and talkative. I would recommend this hotel to couples in love because it's made to make love, catch suntan, relax and eat ;)
Nice people but rather shabby and disappointing, photos very flattering but do not reflect reality. Some serious financial investment needed.
-WiFi doesn’t work. Is also not in the rooms. -Power is not 24hr, expect brownouts despite generator. -Food and drink very expensive. -Sign outside says hotel is closed for renovations. This makes it hard for taxis to locate. - Rooms and fitting incredibly tired. In serious need of maintenance. -Daytime staff incredibly rude. After telling us that breakfast ended at 9 she told us at 12 that we could only order breakfast food. When we pointed out the time she rolled her eyes and walked away. This is one example of what we received daily for 5 days. -Pool incredibly dirty, rarely cleaned. Included rusty nails. - In defense, the view here is beautiful and the rest of the staff were very friendly.
Nice rooms with „solala“ bathroom. Shower without pressure
Very far form everything There is nothing to do there in the evening except sitting in the hotel restaurant. The beach is very far and really not nice. I booked for 3 nights and left after 1. The owner is nice but try to convince you to stay by telling you bad things about other locations.
Greate value, relaxing, good food. Big rooms
The food is delicious. The view is awesome. The staff were nice and friendly. Needs improvement: The air conditioning and fans need updating.
this is one nice hotel. rooms are big and clean ... and that view ...
Nice live music at evenings. Relaxing hotel and very nice view. Our room was in very bad shape and needed a lot of repairment, but the managment arranged another one, athough also was had some issues that could be fixed. Hot water was not running well. We didnt had a lot of help for tours booking. Needed to be search and ask by us. Easy access by walk to the town, but during night is quit dark, needed to take a tuc tuc. Beach is far away, at least 20 minutes walk. Anyway it is value for money, and a good (i believe the best) option if staying in San Vicent.
Staff were very helpful, the owner Steve couldn't have done more to help. Food was excellent. Bed was massive. Really good value stay, cocktails were great too Only negative was air con was very noisy and filthy and the wifi doesn't work
Really lovely hotel, great pool, near long beach (the highlight of the area). Staff can organise any activity you can think of! Luxurious compared to other options at a good price!
They do overbooking! They overbooked on the day of our arrival. They bumped us off and gave us an extra private room of the owners instead. Worse was that the replacement room had no bathroom so we had to use a common one. Not clean. German owner was accommodating but the managers need to have better customer service. Breakfast food was good though.
This place was our biggest regret. There is absolutely nothing to do in the area but a tour the hotel offer, which they overcharged by PHP700, as per the other people on tour who purchased through their hotels. The place is incredibly run down and very very different to the photos. They tried to overcharge us by over PHP600 upon checkout for drinks. They actually give out free cocktails for positive reviews, which is why they probably have such a good rating. The water in the showers were cold and the Wifi didn't work - I have data on my phone, though there isn't much reception in the area so that barely worked either. Cocktails took as long as 40minutes to arrive and were not consistent, although there were only 6 other guests. Only good thing about this hotel is the pizza and sunset (unless it's cloudy). Don't waste your time and money.. GO TO PORT BARTON (PHP2500 by boat from here).
Nice Place, took the sunset suite, perfect view right over the ocean. Furniture was okay, everything was clean. Food was very good, especially the local ones... Long Beach was white and so **** empty, we were the only ones for kilometers of beach. Just try it, it's not port Barton , but we liked it more
Hotel has a very beautiful view. Lobby is comfortable and nice designed. For European and travalers I would highly recommend that place because it is owned by european owner. So there is higher standard of services then in other accommodations owned by locals.
The Peace & Love Resort is not what nor where it appears to be from the pictures. It is not located on a sandy beach but above the small and boring town of San Vicente. It is overpriced and does not manage to offer even the most basic services. During our 4 night stay in the "Deluxe Sunset Room", we did not have warm water a single day, the water pressure was too low for the shower to work properly (having to use a bucket and scoop instead) and were not allowed to throw toilet paper into the toilet bowl as indicated on a little sign taped to the toilet wall (something you do not want to read when suffering from tummy-problems). The swimming-pool is a security hazard: it is a concrete bowl with very sharp edges and the water is often so murky that it is impossible to not hit the concrete ledge in the middle of the pool with your legs/knees. Than there is the electrical wire with lights right above the pool's surface. The owner (who calls himself Steve but who I prefer to call "Hermann the German") frequently sits down with his guests in the bar/terrace area to tell them about how good he is and how everything he does business-like turns into gold. He doesn't tell them that he overcharges them 400 Pesos per person for Island Hopping Tours (which are best booked at the San Vicente Pier) or that Port Barton offers better and cheaper accomodations. He is rude to his staff (which he severely underpays) and does not shy away from making borderline racist anti-Filipino remarks in front of Filipino guests.
Staff perfect room very clean restaurant have correctly price Near to the center village about 10 min walking. very good hotel
Fantastic stay at Peace and Love, staff were incredible and the views from the rooms and bar is out of this world. I would definitely stay here again.
Pros: Sunset Room had a fabulous view. Room was clean and cleaning staff did a good job. Cons: The hotel needs a maintenance person. The toilet did not flush well. You had to hold it for 10 seconds or more. Then it took a long time for the tank to fill to be able to flush again. The water coming out of sink was a small stream. The balcony door did not slide easily and therefore was difficult to open and close. The aircon did not cool the room well and was very noisy. The food took a very long time to arrive and the pizzas we ordered had very few toppings. For a "resort" the small kitchen is not equipped to feed many people at one time. The pool has murky water and so I did not swim in it. Overall, the view was the one and only attraction. Not really a resort and overpriced.
After registering our complaint about a non-functional in-room safe, we were transferred the next day to a similar room (with working safe) but with an excellent harbour view -kudos to staff/management for this. View from hotel lobby, restaurant and pool are awesome. Staff are very friendly and responsive. Daily housekeeping was provided but regrettably, hotel rooms and bathrooms need significant update and maintenance. Not the hotel is located on town site Which is on opposite shore from 14 km white sand beach at San Vicente; island tours and motorbikes can be arranged/rented at bottom of hill from hotel in town restaurant area.
The “resort” was probably nice when built but is falling apart. The pool and lounge area is nice and guests seemed to congregate there. But there is not much else to do, as the location is very remote and a bit difficult to get to. The television and internet do not work (internet does not work in rooms and occasionally works in lounge area), bring books and plan on enjoying the pool and sunsets. And expect to be disappointed a lot as the place is very poorly run. Food is average to poor quality, you pay for breakfast, drinks (beer/water/cocktails), scooters and outings are expensive compared to other hotels in Palawan. What worked - nice sunsets, decent pool, usable out-door chairs. Best suited to back packers chilling for a few days. If you lower your expectations, you can enjoy the simple life. What did not work - printed requests asking for paid reviews (write a review and get a free cocktail) which is dishonest. Average staff. Long waits for meals (one pizza order took 90 minutes). Poor to average food. Over-priced for the most part. No hot water in bathroom two out of three days, warm on third day. Poor or no internet and TV.
A spectacular location, incredibly friendly staff and surprisingly amazing pizza. It's located in a sleepy little town full of friendly people and right near the stunning Long Beach. Quite a few mosquitoes so bring repellant.
More of a hostel than a resort. dont be fooled by the pictures, everything is really old and broken. I guess the pcitures are taken 10 years ago. Staff is freindly but not service oriented. it can get very loud and crowded next to the pool and all the rooms windows open towards the pool. They give you free cocktails if you write a good review so dont be fooled by the good reviews
We booked this hotel specifically for the view- Sunset Room. When we arrived at the hotel, our room was taken so they gave us another one for one night, and then we moved to the room we booked, which was perfect. They also offered free breakfast for the inconvenience. The view is amazing and I recommend you only booking the Deluxe Sunset Room, which is the best.
Nice location, with a fantastic view. Big menu card with huge choice of different dishes, which were very good. Due to the inattentive staff unfortunately it takes a lot of patience when you order something to eat. The last renovation seems to be a few years ago.
Had the opportunity to book the hotel with a great discount. Best way to start Palawan here, as you can't get a better Palawan guide/ advisor as the owner himself and if you wish in perfect German. The hotel has a great view and just a view walking minutes away from the quite white beach.
Definitely the Best Place to eat and stay in San Vicente. Some items on the menu were not available during my stay. Friendly, and helpful staff. Room and Bed was decent size, however, the AC unit was too small for the room. Needed to leave it running 24hrs to cool the room. The TV was also small, maybe 13in diagonal. Limited cable channels also. Water heated by solar power, no sun = no hot water. No fault of the Resort, but internet connection was poor. (It's bad in that part of Palawan.) Pool is 5ft deep, not sure how often it's cleaned. I would stay here again.
This place is a bit odd, maybe 3 or 4 years ago it was great and lives up to some of the positive reviews described however it looked run down and shabby. The hotel website really misells the accommodation and how fantastic it and the surrounding area is. The facilities were old and looked like they hadn't been tended to in a long time for example, the cushions on the sofas and deck chairs were ripped and stained and the pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while - definitely not suitable for swimming.. The restaurant inside had an air of tackiness with drinking competitions advertised and a 'wall of fame' for shot drinking which gave the feeling it could be on a strip holiday somewhere. The room was large and felt very clean, the air conditioning was extremely loud. The food was quite nice, we had curry and grilled chicken, the breakfast is quite overpriced. There are very limited options of things to do in the area, the main draw of course being long beach which itself is great. On a positive note, the view of sunset is really great and it is peaceful and in the evening (probably due to lack of other options) the restaurant area was busy. The wifi was okay.
We enjoyed our three nights bery much! Air con, fantastic food, international standard which is hard to find in this area! We will come back when visiting San Vicente again! thanks Steve and crew! ;)
Very reasonable price, amazing sunset view and the food is really good and extremely reasonable. Had an awesome authentic 12" thin crust pizza for only P260? Amazing. The owner Steve is very friendly and always available for a chat and some advice. The staff are all really nice too. Hot water can be a little tricky because it's solar heated and we had some rainy days, but other than that it was all good. Would definitely stay here again. :)
The hotel is far from the Long Beach, it'll take a few minutes walk.
No further remarks
The place is really value for money. The swimming pool has an Amazing view. The room is big and comfort. They forgot to put towels and shampoo so I asked and I got it directly to the room. A great choice for a place to relax in San Vicente
Location is great, 10 minutes walk to Long Beach, incredible beach. No tourists at all. Staff is very very nice and kind like the owner himself. Food is ok. The room was spacious but not clean enough. Great view swimming pool but again, not clean enough.
Worst Stay Ever. How this hotel has ever gotten high reviews, I will never understand?! Beware of deceptive photos. The location was terrible and the place was rundown and dirty. I wouldn't stay here again even if you paid me. Bullet Points: * Horrible Location, overlooking the dirty fishing docks so you could smell the odor of rotting fish on the breeze. * Standard Room had NO WINDOWS! * Weak to Non-existent air-conditioning. * No Hot Water when you needed it most as it was done thru solar heating. * Sheets and Towel were not clean. They smelled and reeked from not being laundered well. * Bed was hard and uncomfortable. * Frogs in the Bathroom.
Nice friendly staff very nice place to stay good food and cold beer.live band on a night time. The pool looking over the harbour and if your looking you sea the phillippiens sea Eagle catching fish .
It looked amazing in the photos. But in reality it's run down, filthy, there are cockroaches everywhere, quite alive and yes in the room too, also worms, spiders and a baby frog (cute!!), the bathroom had a huge leak that the owner did not tend to and we had a bucket under the sink that we ourselves had to empty constantly, the shower flooded with dirty water and the owner told me that it was my fault, because I didn' t lift the drain to clean it (!!), the plastic shower divider was not attached to the wall and was falling off, the food and service was awful, but there is nothing else around to eat, the staff was bored to death and the location is not as good as it looks apart from the view, because nothing is close by and you can't swim in the muddy port that's in a walking distance. Also the man that came to pick up the cockroach from our room did that in bare hands (!!) and asked me in english "only one??". These are only a few of the things that happened in that hotel. There is no way in hell we're going back there!! Also if you wonder why it has gotten so many good reviews, I think it's because the owner has a brochure with an offer everywhere that gives you 12 free cocktails, if you write a good review or something like that.
Food was excellent, View from swimming pool and pool was amazing, Steve -owner will go for an extra mile for you. Although location was 10mins walk from town and around 15mins to Long beach... if you fancy staying in a hotel and walk that distance that is ok... but on other side u have been staying on a hill that is why u had amazing view... Long beach is peaceful and quiet comparing to other places in Palawan
It's really just a scrappy patch of coconut plantation, with a few very simple huts and a few bamboo tent platforms. Very very basic facilities; next door bungalows at least have a nice bar & restaurant and pretty gardens sloping to the sea; this place has none of those. OK you get what you pay for, but having come all this way (it's 40kms from El Nido) we expected better. Beach although pretty, is far too shallow for swimming.
Excellent entertainment in the evening from local filipino band. Friendly and helpful staff Food good but service slow
Amazing resort would definitely stay again! The food was the best I have bad In the two months I have been in Philippines.it was 10/10. Staff are so so helpful and so is Steve the owner! Loved this place so much!
