ONS (One Nizam Square) is a lovely place very close public facilities like shops, restaurants and the local market; all within 2 to 5 minutes walking distance. It's also close to the lovely Mahebourg Water Front which is a Tourist site. The Motel is neat with lovely and helpful staff. Ibrahim especially was very kind and resourceful; he gave me tips about the town. I loved the breakfast too. The Internet was very reliable and fast. I really had value for money and will definitely come back.
I stayed at this lovely motel for one day as it is very near to the airport. The total experience is good and all the staffs are helpful. Overall this hotel is good for transit.
The host of ONS Motel was friendly & helpful. Arranged for excursions with reasonable charges. I highly reconmended this motel.
The host was very friendly & helpful, arranged for exculsions with reasonable charges. Highly recommended for ONS Motel.
Decent clean hotel in a easy to find location. However, pls note that rooms are on the fourth floor and there is no lift so it is not recommended for elderly or guest with small children.
If you really want to explore Mauritius and also in budget, only way is to save in accommodation. This place is near by many shops and ATMs and most important Mahebourg bus station. Ibrahim(caretaker/owner of the property) is really a nice person as well as Bilal also. We like their hospitality. If in future we'll go Mauritius we'll definitely choose this place to stay. NOTE: Only if you think to stay in budget place. If money is no bar their are so many other places also. Hope this review will be helpful for all.
Great, clean, friendly,affordable
Close to the airport, satisfactory facilities
As we were in transit between flights, we were only able to stay for one night. We sadly didn't have time to explore the area or enjoy the breakfast the next morning. We were greeted & welcomed by Mr Ibrahim Gunglee even though we arrived late in the evening. He arranged transits from the airport & back for us, & personally showed us to our room. It is a very clean & pleasant place, & we were grateful to have aircon on such a hot night. We would definitely stay again, if we ever have the opportunity.
We had a transit to Mauritius and took a night stay at this motel. From the airport to the motel, it was about 10-15 minutes drive and it cost 600 rupees to get there. Upon reaching the motel, we had to press the doorbell to get in as it was already dark by then. We were greeted by a nice lady who is the owner of the motel and her young girl. Got in our room and rested for the night. Most shops around are closed so theres no where for us to go. Weather is cool at night. Breakfast is nice even though it's little but its sufficient. We also managed to make arrangement with the owner to send us off to the airport early in the morning.
We stayed in the ons motel for 2 nights and were very happy with our choice. The neighbourhood is not crowded with tourists which we loved. Our pick up service from the airport went perfectly fine (25€ for both ways. Way cheaper than taxi or other hotels!) Our dear host Ibrahim recommended a nice restaurant with local food (try the sizzle squid!!!) and organised a trip to the islands the next day, again for very fair prices. The room was clean and simple but had everything you would need, including a safe. Breakfast is very simple (baguette with ham, tea and some fruit) but ok. The bus to the beach takes 20 minutes (bluebay). There is no beach close to the motel! The staff is very friendly and helpful. You feel rather couchsurfing than staying in a hotel We definitivly enjoyed our stay,
We are "oldies" that needed to overnight in Mauritius between flights. Our incoming flight was 1 hour and 15 mins late, but as they knew the flight number we were arriving on - they fetched us in a nice clean spacious car, right on time ---- at 8pm. They have a lift (elevator) which saved us walking up 2 flights of stairs. The room was lovely and clean and airy. Comfy beds, extra pillows and blankets in the cupboard. Next morning they took us back to the airport at 7am for our flight out again. Lovely people, excellent service, what more does one want!!!!!!
mosquee too noisy
The Good service. Good location near airport, market, easy to find. The best budget hotel ever.
Been to Mauritius and this is one of the recommended place to stay for the traveller who is looking for the hotel that is not too far away from the airport. Budget hotel that worth the cents.
good and nice staff , good and delicious breakfast
It's very good for the price they are offering. Clean. Safe. Even they provided self drive car for reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this to all.
We stayed with my wife from 21.03-25.03.2017 and we spent very pleasant time. Very clean accommodation. The personal very friendly and polite. The breakfasts might be more diverse
ok
Excellent Service, friendly, reliable and close to the Airport.
Near airport . Everything around this hostel . No eveneter so if heavy suitscase a bit troublesome . N entrance also difficult find . But staffs very friendly n kindness . Big room , clean room but only soap they prepared .
All wos perfect.
Ibrahim is friendly and helpful. The motel is quiet at night eventhough it is on the main street. Walking distance to bus stop, waterfront, Mahebourg wet market as well as Monday Flea market. Walking distance to Capitaine Restaurant which sells reasonably priced food. Motel guests can use the gym/fitness centre too. Supermarket is across the road, but if you want to look for more variety, walk further to Kong Supermarket. Museum is about 20 min walk.
good staff very cooperative .
Does what it says on the tin - a basic but perfectly adequate guest house, which is great if you want to do Mauritius on a budget and if you want to take in some of the Mauritian culture in Mahebourg. Wifi is a bit intermittent, but works well enough for checking emails etc. Air con in room works well. Ibrahim is a fantastic host - very friendly and helpful with advice and information. Hired a car from them - good value but rather beaten up! Again serves the purpose and the air-con works which is the main thing!
We checked in for a few hours as we had a flight at 3am the next day. The manager and owner are great and helpful people.
Every thing is so good, the location is close to the airport, the room is clean and comfortable, besides the nice staff who always gives u help and good tour suggestions.
We were staying in ONS Motel & Guest House for one night because it is very near to the RRS International airport. To save our time to travel around in Mahebourg, on arrival in the noon time, we gained to travel the beautiful Blue Lagoon,Waterfront & Lion Mountain etc. Therefore we stayed in ONS Motel, it's very convenience location along the main street where we can go to the eateries and shops around. There is a Supermarket at the corner side opposite to the motel & A Good Chinese Restaurant namely-"Dragon De Chine" run by A Hakka China Man by the name:George.ONS Motel no doubts room are small but are well maintained & clean. The boss-Ibarahim is a young man of age 28, he is a very enthusiastic man with good hospitality, especially morning breakfast he serves by himself.ONS Motel is A 3 Stars Hotel but with 4 Stars Service, I was very satisfied staying there and I will definitely introduce to my family members & friends who are going to stay in Mahebourg, Mauritius Island in Africa.
Money value proposition is good.
Good job...
hotel condition was very good for only staying.
The guesthouse is located in the heart of Mahebourg. The owner is very nice and makes an effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Clean and quite rooms, clean showers. Nice balcony with few on the busy Mahebourg streets. The breakfast could be a bit bigger (you get baguette, butter & jelly and a bowl of one fruit) but other than that great place!
Will definitely return, I love this place. Good breakfast, wifi works fine, aircon, very comfortable. The price is what stands out the most you get more than what you paid for. The staff is amazing very lovely and kind people always willing to help
The guest house has good and disappointing points: Good: the owner, Ibrahim, is a pleasant man, the guest house was spotlessly clean. Disappointing points: breakfast is limited (bowl of papaya and half a french stick), no warm water in the shower, next to the mosque, gym is on the floor below the hotel and we could hear noise, had to park rental car on street, not so friendly neighbourhood to stay in.
Located in Mahebourg which is only 10 minutes by bus from the airport (24 rupees). Easy to find from the bus station. Just behind there is a mosque, so there'll be an early "morning alarm". Blue bay beach is only a short bus ride or an interesting walk away.
Nice location situated at town center of Mahebourg, very close to airport convenient for airport transfer. Owner Nizam and the son Ibrahim are very friendly and helpful. will strongly recommend to friends and relatives.
clean and comfortable
We only stayed one night but it was perfect for what we wanted. The hosts are friendly too.
We stayed there for 2 nights and Ibrahim was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in downtown of Mahebourg, not too far from the airport. We had to park our rental car on the side street. It was easy to get a spot especially after 5pm as everything closed after that!
ROOMS ARE BASIC AND CLEAN THE OWNER 'S SON IS A GREAT GUIDE ANDKNOWS THE ISLAND WELL. I ENJOYED THE GUIDED TOUR OF THE ISLAND. THEY HAVE CAR.RENTAL AND GYM WITH THE HOTEL. THEY DO PROVIDE MEAL IF YOU PREARRANGE. NO RESTURANT IS NEGATIVE. RAJ MOSUR
I was overwhelmed with the personal care and attention I got from Mr Nizam (the hotel owner) and his whole family. It was a cozy hotel with a nice scenery and I loved every bit of it. The food was great and it was cooked as per our wish. I would always recommend this hotel to everyone who visits Mauritius.
It was a wonderful stay and amazing experience at the ONS Motel and Guest House. Our trip would have been ruined if we were not helped by the wonderful family of Mr Nizam (The owner). We are couples celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in Mauritius and my wife suffered an injury after arrival in Mauritius. Mr Nizam went out of his way and took personal care of both of us so that we could enjoy Mauritius and get the injury healed at the same time. It was God sent !! The hotel was great and if you need any personal attention and a feel of home then it is the place to be.
Very good. I had a driver to pick me up from and take me to the airport.
We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and 7 days for our honeymoon trip, and enjoyed the hospitality. We were looking for a budget place to stay and wanted to maximize our spend on touring the place, which is exactly what we got. We were assisted in planning our daily tours and we opted for a private tour where my wife and I were driven around as per the day's itinerary. Our kind hosts also helped me plan a private candle-light dinner with my wife at the hotel. Overall - value for money, good hospitality, near to airport. I would highly recommend it for the budget traveler.
It is 10 minutes drive from airport, but the sign-board of this hotel is not obvious, so we asked a lot people even the police.Room is clean, this hotel also provie car rental/ tourism packages of Mauritris. If just for one night airport transit, I do recommend you to stay.
Simple breakfast, BUT, excellent fresh French bread AND good coffee !
“Exactly what we wanted”
We had a 03:50 flight on Kenya Airways out of Mauritius, but did not want a long taxi drive at night to take us from Belle Mare to the airport, so we elected to look for a cheap and cheerful place where we'd miss breakfast, get half a night's sleep (well nearly) and it'd be a short ride to the airport. Wow, did we strike lucky!!! Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, hot shower, and a super-friendly host in Ibrahom. At a brilliant price. But how to find it? Please be aware few Mauritians we met know what street they are standing on and so finding Royal Road was almost impossible. Please, please, unlike us, use Google Maps, and put a photo on your phone. If ONS Motel is not showing, it's on Royal Road, 3 storeys up, between Rue des Flamands and Rue des Cents Gaulette. The entrance is through an iron gate/set of doors, with a sign beautifully illuminated at at night, but hard to see from a taxi during the day. This is excellent budget accommodation.
