Close to a nice beach. Close to airport (that's why I stayed here). Far from anything else, including any nightlife area.
Think you are reviewing the wrong place as we are certainly not close to the airport being 75km away.
we booked a stay for one night in a standard room. Was looking to stay longer but wanted to check it out first. the room we were given was close to the street and very loud. we asked if we could move but we're not let to. Our stay was limited to one night because of this. Would recommend however DO NOT go with a standard room, the treat you less then nice.
We treat all our guests the same. Sorry all other rooms were booked. Not much we can do about that. The road you are talking about is a small road leading down to Lovina beach.
Very happy with this hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Annoying that the cleaning staff turned off the airconditioning each day AFTER they had cleaned the room (not silly were they). Had a villa near the smaller pool which we would recommend. Great pools - enjoyed both. Also great to be able to swim late into the evening. All hotels should allow this
I stayed here for three days (booked two night through Agoda and then extended an extra day). The gardens and pool were lovely and well kept, and the staff was very friendly and helpful when I asked about the area. I came here by myself this time, but I plan to bring a group of friends next time. Pros: wonderful staff, beautiful garden and pool, great location, within a short walk to the beach Cons: a little on the pricey side comparatively even during off season.
Great place to stay, beautiful gardens, helpful staff, would stay here again for sure. Terry Darwin
Overall are good
What a great hotel.... the room and facility's were just fantastic....There are always cons if you want to look hard enough but you would have to look very hard in this hotel. The owners were really friendly and available to help if needed.... lovely couple... thanks. Would definately stay again if in lovina.
Beautiful Balinese design, large well appointed rooms, great location, beautiful grounds and pool, great staff, fabulous open air bathrooms- thoroughly recommended, particularly the one bed villas (we had Putri) which were huge and great location by pool
It is a lovely family owned property, that takes personal care of the guests. The staff are very friendly and trained to be super helpful, without being intrusive. The best thing about it is the fact that coming in from the street it is an oasis of tranquility. Quiet with beautiful gardens and lovely pools. . The breakfast is a good basic breakfast and given the rates the overall value is really good.
Always a lovely stay here and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Lovina area. We spent 4 nights in the 'Hobbit Room' backpacking as a couple. The room(s) are brilliant. The 'Hobbit Room' is a little kitschy, two bedroom bungalow style hut tucked away towards the rear of the hotel grounds and surrounded by beautiful gardens. The staff and owners are all equally amazing and friendly. Good breakfast that is included in price.
This is an old establishment with some spacious rooms, pleasant gardens and an attractive pool area. However, hard beds, tepid hot water, intermittent internet (which appeared to be turned off overnight) and a rather aggressive manager all suggest this place is on the slide. Sad to see places like this go bad. There are many better options available in Lovina.
Maybe you had a bee in your bonnet. We don't have a manger as we are a family run hotel with my wife and I. We have 20 mps internet in the back of the hotel and 10 mps in the front part and it is all fibre optic. All our beds have pillow tops on the mattresses.
Our villa was amazing, spacious, very clean and well looked after. The site was also very well kept and plenty of staff available who were happy to help. At the time of visiting, it was quiet so we often had one pool to ourselves and plenty of sun loungers/seating area's. There was five choices for breakfast including eggs, toast, pancakes, nasi goreng and toasted sandwich. Also a glass of fresh juice, small fruit platter and unlimited tea/coffee was available. After check out, the hotel were happy to hold our luggage and allow us to use the pool until our taxi later that day. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.
This hotel was amazing and excellent value for money. We had a standard, budget room but it was clean, comfortable and a good size. The two swimming pools and grounds were lovely and quiet. The staff were great and the free breakfast was excellent. Only a 5 minute walk to the beach and on the same road as some great restaurants. Fantastic all round.
Nice grounds and gardens, but rooms seem dated. Good internet connection, nice big fridge to keep things cold. Bathroom had very damp smell. Safe was too small for my computer. Breakfast fruits were great, but nasi goring was very average. Access to our room was difficult after heavy rain due to deep water ponding on the road path, luckily it cleared next day. Unfortunately motor vehicle are allowed to enter and upset the ambience slightly, but most rooms are not affected. Staff were very friendly and helpful, they brought us a standing fan as we did not want the air-con.
Rambutan Hotel at first sight looks spacious, beautifully landscaped and substantial. the surprise is the extent of it. The full site is a slow reveal of gardens, fountains and ponds, sitting pavillions, and two separate contoured pools. The owners and staff are attentive and helpful and not in your face. It felt like I was welcomed to their home. The room was generous and well appointed with thoughtful extras like an umbrella and books to borrow. There's a pool table, spa treatments, exercise equipment, table tennis and even four ducks Breakfast was excellent (no ducks were harmed)and served at the poolside restaurant which offers a wide range of food - I only tried the very good nasi campur- even a selection of savoury pies. A fantastic stay, I'd return for sure.
Fantastic hotel in Lovina, 5 mins walk from beach and close to some great restaurants (Warung Apple). We opted for the standard room with fan only which was fine for us as cooler in the evening. The room was a good size, very clean and had a nice private bathroom. We both had a Balinese massage on site which was superb. Breakfast was delicious with unlimited tea, coffee and fruit juice. The 2 pools were lovely and staff were on top of the cleaning. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Two members of staff even helped my husband to bump start our car when it wouldn't start. Highly recommended.
Great spa staff, cute hotel, good food. Close to beach!
AHotel is a series of villas or cottages in superb gardens clustered near a nice pool and restaurant. Also a 5 min walk to beach and central Lovina, not that there is much to see. A place to chill and relax away from the hustle and noise of popular Bali.
Minus: (1) we rented a scooter for a day trip and the brake suddenly stopped working. When we informed two staff they didn't take us seriously and didn't apologize. We could have got into an accident. (2) we booked the Mount Batur tour and they told us it's just for two persons. When we arrived it was a shared tour among six people. False misrepresentation at their end and don't trust them when they told you it's a private tour. Plus: good garden, nice pool, good price and restaurants around
Good location, two swimming pools in good conditions, the brekfast is ok and the budget room too with a fun. Great for a relaxing time!
Pro: Nice pool, close to the beach Cons: Staff is really lazy. It seems that each time you want to ask them something (wifi password, beakfast time etc) you bother them while they are reading the newspapers or on their phone. I think the worst was when we ask for a massage of 30 min at the end of the day. The girl in charge said she could not (there was no one in the spa) that she would close soon and that we should come back the next day so we went for a swim. When we went back to our room 30 min later she was in the spa playing on her phone, just waiting to be able to close. Last thing don t stay in room 11a. It s close to the room of employees/owners and super noisy as it is also closed to the road. We were waken up at 5 am because people would not stop talking. And finally the mattress was really bad. I suppose if you don t stay in a standard room as we did, you ll have a bigger more comfortable room and away from the reception and road.
I'm not sure we were all that impressed with Lovina itself, but it mattered little as the hotel was so lovely. The room was wonderful with really great facilities (fresh filtered water everyday, pool towels and shower towels, etc.), a really great selection of breakfast options, and two wonderful pools that just scream out to be blobbed by. They have lovely beach chairs and little huts filled with bean bags. The hotel also offers outings (such as dolphin watching) and a spa.
Good rooms, breakfast and amenities. I have been trying to rack my brains for some constructive criticism and the only thing I could have wished for was a little more light in the bathroom, hair towel & bath mat but considering what we paid I think that is asking too much. All the staff were lovely too, we felt very welcome thank you
Pros- Pool and breakfast Con- Didn't have one.
We stayed 1 night and it was good value for money. Lovina was very quiet, as was most of Bali, due to low season, however this made it more relaxing. Would definitely stay here again.
October is a great time to visit Bali. There were very few people at Rambutan and in Lovina in general. I stayed in an upstairs room, toward the back of the property, across from the second pool and the restuarant. There was air conditioning that I had to leave on constantly to cool the room. It was a humid time of year, so this was necessary. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. I really enjoyed the space. Breakfast was plentiful with juice, fruit, coffee or tea and a choice of several main entrees. I always had two fried eggs and toast. Staff was friendly. I had a massage at the spa, but it was really a poor massage... rough and not relaxing. She had trouble finding the right pressure, either too hard or not hard enough. For much less, I found a couple places for massage right near by that I went to daily. I went out snorkeling. For 100,000 rupiah, or $7.50 the hotel arranged a guy with a small balinese fishing boat to take me out. It was better snorkeling than in Amed. It was clear with many fish. The gardens were lovely to walk in, and I spent most of my time in the two pools. There are many bungalow at Rambutan, so in high season, the review may be different. For me, this is a place I hope to return to. It was peaceful and perfect.
I came here off season, accomodation was ok,no sound proofing between next door, fusty smell in room,on the plus side the staff are friendly and helpful.but in general I ,personally didn't want to go and chase flipper in a speed boat, and found lovina had little else to offer, except diving-hardcore sales pitch everywhere
The room was nice and clean. The pool area is beautiful, I stayed an extra night to enjoy it. The hotel is conveniently located close to beach, restaurants and shops. It was a really great stay.
I booked this resort last minute on Agoda. Booked for 1 night and ended up staying for 2. The resort is beautiful. There is a spa, which we didn't use. Two pools. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was freshly made to order and was very nice. We went on a boat ride to see the Dolphins which wasn't what we expected but still good for the price. We were a group of 3 and there was 3 beds, rather than just a mattress on the floor! I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Convenient location with all the places to be in Lovina in walking distance. Spacious rooms and nice swimming pools. Downsides: awfully smelly dogs walking around the garden, staff did not make me feel very appreciated as guest.
Great staff, great pool, great rooms
We understand that the facility is dated and are ok with that especially because the grounds are nice. The room was filthy and the bed cover was old and needed a cleaning. The sheets, pillow cases and blankets were all pilling.
This hotel was very nice. We stayed one night in the bungalow and liked it a lot--they are simple, but nicely decorated and clean. The staff is very friendly as well.
Dont stay in a budget room, the sweaty hot boxes close to the road and staff accomodation and its noisy, super hot, no aircon. I tried to upgrade, but they would have charged me more than the difference i would have paid on agoda, this is a joke. Avoid the budget rooms and the rest is fine
I wish I had stayed longer, this hotel and staff provide a very welcoming, warm and friendly atmosphere around a beautifully maintained Balinese garden with clean and refreshing pools, it is a perfect place to relax and unwind, everything is low key but staff go out of their way to be helpful and provide assistance when needed. I found the food a bit uninspiring and was disappointed with the local food I tried although I'm sure many tourists were happy with the range of western choices. There are local warungs nearby. I will come back for sure and next time stay a lot longer.
The staff put our family in two rooms next to each other which was very convenient. The rooms were reasonably clean and located perfectly next to the pool. Location compared to other places is very good.
We took budget rooms (no AC, only ceiling fan - and you don't need one), which were I'd say in good shape and cleaned daily. Acoustics in bathroom are fantastic - I could talk easily to my friends next door from there (might be a minus if you don't wanna talk to people next door). Environment is really calm, relaxing and green - like living in a park. There's two pools with sunbends and arbours around to relax if you don't want to go to the beach. Breakfast were a bit disappointing - small portions, also you get to chose from menu of 5 items only, but juice are fresh and really tasty, so is coffee (gotta love this whole country for coffee). Staff is fantastic. We wanted to watch eurobasket at 2am, so guard guided us directly to the modem so we could get descent connection, hotel spa took sea urchin spikes from the feet for no charge, every request we had was dealt with momentarily. Location is a bit far from the sea, also there's road repairs happening there, so walking is a bit uncomfortable. Beach is not first class, a bit dirty, also lots of local boats there who constantly offers some kind of attractions (I highly suggest dolphins watching and snorkeling). Bargain with everyone, prices goes down easily, especially for pearls (800k to 200k is normal).
We'll be back !
Cold showers, no hot water 2 days, soap removed, had to share one very small cake of soap between 2 people over 2 days, Twin beds not provided, as asked for and clearly stated and indicated in our booking. a second bed was provided (I have photos) A small very old child's bed, with a old smelly hard kapok mattress, it had to be seen to be believed, this bed would not be considered reasonable or acceptable in the worst backpacker's hostel - I could not believe my eyes, we have been ripped off big time. I'd like to know, where and to whom in Agoda I send these bed picture to? The bed came with a dirty Micky Mouse bed spread. Some sort of sick joke? Who in Agoda do you report this to???
We enjoyed our time there. It is not a modern style hotel but the cottages are nice and private set in lovely grounds with two swimming pools. Very relaxing.
We Could not watching Television because standart room was not include that facilities, but when I Booking the hotel It was not mention it in room condition, so I Could not know that. But I Thank to the owner that give me the room with air conditioning which it should not include in standart room. So in the next future please mention the facilities Clearly in the booking form.
The owners are very friendly. Staff are professional. Very clean. Extra coffee, tea and toast is a nice touch for breakfast.
It was a nice place. Quiet, well-set out, close to the beach and excellent staff. Pool was lovely and breakfast was pretty good.
A comfort hotel with nice environment and friendly staff. However, I'm unable to connect to wifi during my stay here. And pls remember to prepare mosquito spray if u were to stay here. Overall, it's a good experience staying here and its value for money.
“Well worth a stay at the Rambutan”
I have stayed in a number of Lovina bungalow places and I rate the Rambutan highly for location and value for money. Beautiful well maintained gardens with two swimming pools. Excellent breakfast served by attentive and friendly staff. The basic room is as it says basic but it is clean and comfortable and if you are on a budget then highly recommended.
