Villa was very untidy with spider nets in kitchen, spots in bed ceilings and poorly planned washrooms, and old furnitures. plus the location was very interior difficult to reach and unsure about safety. had to move to different location in one day itself although we had two days bookings, we could live there for more than one night.
suitable for those who look for quiet escape. Stay for 3 nights. When I book this place, I’m well aware that the villa is not 5 stars hotel. However the place need to improve the cleanliness and maintenance. The wall need to be repainted. The kitchen and the water cooler is dirty. Need to ask for bottle of water but we only get it the day we ask. The next day we never received any bottle of water. The staff is abit slow. They need to get proper training of how to handle the guests and need to be more proactive. If you don’t ask, the next day they won’t do. Same as when we ask for salt and pepper during breakfast. We went out on the first day around 4:30pm. The staff asking to leave the key there so they can turn on the light. When we came back the light was on but the dishes from lunch time were still there full off ants. we asked the staff who already in the villa to collect the dishes from breakfast. She said it will be collect when we leave in the afternoon. Breakfast is poor.
Pros: Staff were friendly and about half spoke good English. Pool was clean and enjoyable. Indonesian breakfast tasted good and drinks were amazing. Cons: My package included a welcome drink and in-room fruits. We arrived around 11pm so we didnt expect the welcome drinks on our arrival so I decided to ask for it the next day. After we arrived home from visiting Ubud center I asked a staff member about them and was told that our drinks and fruit come at breakfast. Bit disappointing but its not a big deal. The kitchen however, has no cutlery, crockery or anything to cook with. The only things in the kitchen was coffee cups, teaspoons and saucers. Not even a kettle. Ordered chicken from the menu and I think they picked it up from a warung around the corner because it was cold and didnt look like the picture. Overall, it was ok accommodation. Drivers were friendly and pleasant. Nice staff. But they still need to work on their service and giving guests what is outlined in the itinerary or menu.
The best stay in Ubud, Bali! I love our villa. They decorated flowers in our bed for our honeymoon. The staff attended to all our needs, even on the first day when it was raining all day and there was some leaking, someone immediately fixed it so we’ll have a perfect stay. I love that it’s not at center Ubud so we really did have some privacy, peace and quite. There is a free shuttle/car service that goes to Ubud Center at a schedule daily so we can go there whenever we please. They also lent us a cellphone so we can contact them anytime. On our last day, we had to checkout early for a tour (at 6am) and the staff were kind enough to fix us some breakfast in a box so we can have it for takeaway. It was a really nice gesture. The staff and owners are very nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend Cocoa Ubud Private Villa and would definitely come back to stay here next time. Thank you for a very wonderful stay!
Location: -Far from Ubud centre if you walk but only 15 mins drive by car -There are nearby small shops where you can buy snacks and drinks -Guests won't be able to walk around the area, coz the fierce dogs at the end of street will bark on you. Facilities: -We had our own privacy & peace. -We were not able to swim in the private pool because of the toad who swam first 😂 We won't be able to control these kind of animals but at least it is better to have cover on the pool when not used. - We tried to use the bathtub but at the middle of filling it with warm water, the faucet stopped pouring warm water. All the way it was pouring cold water. - I highly suggest for them to regularly top up the coffee& tea box. - At one time, electricity in some parts of the villa and water were shut down. Staff Service: -5 Stars! They helped my partner in pulling a birthday surprise for me! They gave us a phone to contact them anytime. They are all polite & kind. *Their pizza is awesome btw!
We are in honeymoon. Thanks to hotel management for 'honeymoon decoration' in the room.. Nice room with private pool... Village area.. Bfast sent to my room
We had a 3-night stay at Cocoa Ubud Villas and wished we could have stayed longer. The staff get 5 stars. They were truly on top of their game. The villa itself was amazing. The grounds are very zen-like. You truly feel like you're in the jungle in a temple-esque atmosphere. The pool was great. Breakfast was awesome. They provide you with a cell phone so you can call for room service or a shuttle. It can also be used from the city center to call the staff for pick-up. My one con is that it is not really walking distance from anything. If you do not have a scooter, you're pretty much at the mercy of the shuttle or taxi's. We tried one evening to walk from the hotel to the main strip and were turned away by some growling and barking neighborhood dogs about a block away. We ended up ordering food from Cocoa, which is good, but I really wanted to explore the neighborhood. But besides that one negative, everything was perfect. We would stay here again definitely.
First of all, when we open the room, there was strange smell, and the bathroom wasn’t clean enough, there were mould around tiles, we understood as it is open bathroom. But when we tried to sleep, my wife was upset about very strong mould smell in the pillow, so we uncovered the sheet of pillow. 2 of 4 was very strong mould. So we all uncovered bedsheets and check the mattress, it seems ok but mattress was too soft and squeaky, it means too old. In the morning, we had a breakfast, I had an nassigoreng, it was too saulty and I chewed bit of sand, so I spit it out, and I tried yogurt, it was gone. Breakfast was terrible. We only complained and asked staff to change the pillows and they said it is ok becasue it is covered with clean sheet. So my wife told her it is too smelly. The staff said it is all the same. We shocked what she told me. But when they cleaned the room, they changed the clean pillow. And next breakfast was ok. But every morning the thing we couldn’t stand wa the noisy
Staff support is superb🥳
Big space. Good BF. Attentive staff.
Booked the honeymoon villa for 4 nights. Enjoyed my stay through out. All staff VERY friendly n helpful. Daily breakfast provided, not much choices (western n local) but no complain on taste. Complimentary dinner (once) very delicious. Complimentary 1 hour massage for 2pax. Free shuttle to Ubud Central daily (3 times per day). However, villa is quite old. Bathroom n veranda tiles old n dirty (moldy due to open air). Road outside to get to villa full of potholes. Location is about 10mins to Ubud Central by motorbike. Bintang Supermarket (best place to get cheap beer n food stuff) is about 9mins by motorbike. U need to rent a motorbike to move around here. The staff here all very friendly n helpful. U can ask them anything n they will do their best to assist u. I asked for mosquito coils n spray n they immediately got it for me. They speak basic English. So makes it easier to ask them for good food recommendations n places to visit nearby. I highly recommend this place!
Friendly staff but abit far from under town,
Overall, it was a good experience. The pool is big and the yard are full of greenery. There are few suggestions for the owner. 1. Replace the curtains, mosquito nets, cushions with stains, believe me, it will make your guests feel much better. 2. Shutter service can be more flexible. We paid 5 usd twice in 3 days for a ride to town, because the shutter is strictly on time even there’s no other passenger. And walking is not possible. 3. Provide shampoo and shower gel if possible. The villa confirmed with me that all toiletries are provided but it was not. We have to go outside to buy shampoo and shower gel urgently. One of the toothbrush provided was unpacked that we dare not to use.
Staff were generally quite helpful but the TV was not working well and feedback given was not followed through. Location was pretty far in and can be quite difficult for some drivers.
Good villa for family with 3 room and private pool. Staffs friendly and helpful. Nice to stay
We only stay for one night but really enjoyed the time. Nice place to relax. The staff was really helpful and kind.
It's a very beautiful place with a luxurious feel though the bathroom needs some upkeep as the bath is looking old and our shower head was falling off the wall. The staff made it a wonderful stay with their friendliness, thank you.
During our one night stay on 29 August 2018, we came back to the Villa after our water rafting session and two Villa staffs came in to take our orders for next morning breakfast. One of our friends bumped into the guy staff inside their room at the Villa second floor without seeking our permission. After returning from our dinner, 3 of our friends who are staying at the second floor notified us that their money were stolen and we immediately went to find the security and the boss came down to address the issue. Police arrived shortly but only took down our statement and the boss mentioned that he will get the two staffs to talk with us the following morning. The boss did arrived with the two staffs but the ridiculous part is when the staff defended himself by claiming that he only went up to change the mosquitoes coil outside the room and didn't enter at all. I sincerely hope that they will do something to improve their security level and no one experiencing the same situation as us!
This was overal a pleasant stay. Although at times the staff were hard to communicate with, they always went out of their way to accommodate us. The pool was beautiful and caught all the rays during the day from about 930am-330pm. The room was nice, tv cuts in and out though. Bath is very dirty so couldn’t have a soak. Shower is at very short height so need to duck in order to fit your whole body. The breakfast was nice and on time every morning, different fruit selection everyday. We thought this was within walking distance to Ubud town but could only taxi or scooter, over an hours walk. (10min drive). Over all this was a cheep accommodation for our short stay so we can’t complain, many thanks to the staff who helped us kill some time on our last day before our flight. Beautiful people !
I visited this hotel and I were chocked from it. it's little pit different between the reality and the photo. very traditional and old decoration, the best thing in the room was the bathroom, only place I didn't find bugs in it. the pool was okay but the lamp was broken and they fix it in the last night of my stay (stayed 3 nights). they really need to re-innovate it with modern decoration and Technology
Staff were amazing and the villa was very clean . Very traditional Balinese style to relax . Upon request the staff also surprised my partner with flowers and very attentive. Great restaurant around here he area staff recommended also . Thankyou for a pleasant stay
Staff was very accommodating. enjoyed the pool, though better if they have water heater in there. regardless, amazing stay. a little bit difficulty to find the resort.. better to put signs at several spots on the way.
good
It was lovely to find an option with this much space and a private pool. The villa has a lot of charm, the garden is impeccably maintained, and stunning, and the pool is clean. The statues and typical Balinese style of the villa more than make up for some of its more rustic features. It was lovely getting a lavish breakfeast served by our private pool in the morning. The place is not too far from central Ubud, but would recommend renting a scooter to make coming and going easy.
1. Please provide more lighting nearby pool & garden. 2. Please provide electric socket for outside usage. 3. IF possible for the pool to be provided with water heater should be better.
We were a group of four, all females. The villa's location is very rural and surrounded by tress, hence we felt unsafe to sleep at night with no main lobby/guard post and the rooms were merely locked with a glass door (we felt that the garden & pool area would be easily accessible by intruders as the fence is not tall enough) The villa was decorated with many cultural stuffs and paintings, which appeared a bit scary at night time... The bathroom was not clean enough with a huge bathtub with stains, and the water temperature is not hot enough (tried to fill the bathtub with warm water for soak bath but unsuccessful). Personally we think it is more for westerners instead of Asians like us.
The staff here was always in touch with us before we even landed. All requests were obliged generously by the staff.
We absolutely loved our time at Cocoa Ubud. The Villas were beautiful and well taken care of. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating to every thing we possibly needed. Wayan went above and beyond, and even stepped in to be our driver for a full day when his regular driver was sick. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place. We willl definitely be back!
The villa is quite ok, but the renovation is really old. Overall the most I like will be their pool because I find it super big for two persons and nice as well. The staff is super nice and being helpful. By the way,the portion for the breakfast is too small, I might suggest it comes with different food as well when serve with main course. Last, it’s a pleasant stay in the villa during the trip.
it was great and awesome
The villa is very big and it is a two-storey. However the condition can be better. Will not complain because of the price.
Staffs were friendly, room was magnificient. Everything was like a dream!
Well, i must say that the first impression we had is that it s a huge n private villa with ur own swimming pool. That made you feel like u r in our Own world. The scenery is so beautiful n the price is reasonable. They provide shuttle bus n give u a cellphone for contact if u need. U can order food n beverage at ur place n everything is perfect here except its facilities is a bit outdated. The villa is so quiet n it suits couple who wanna stay away from noise n crowded. Anyway thanks Cocoa Ubud staff for the support
My family and I spent 4D3N in the 2 bedroom villa with a beautiful private pool surrounded by greenery and wonderful staff who were friendly and easily contactable. The rooms & bathrooms were very spacious, eventhough a tad old. We also arranged for a driver from the villa to take us to some tourist spots over 2 days, he was AMAZING! We all got along so well and it was a truly wonderful stay. We would love to go back again. It's not at a walking distance to ubud town but the villa provides a free return shuttle there with a phone to call staff when you're ready for your pieck up back to the hotel (before 9.30pm). I would also like to kindly feedback to management to place some sort of air freshener dispenser in the living room & shared spaces as it wasnt well ventilated since all windows are locked, so it can get a bit musty/stuffy.
We are happy with our stay here. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. But the breakfast is cold when it’s served. It is indeed a very nice villa but the place need some maintenance especially the kitchen. And more lights should be installed for the night. Overall, it’s a good value place.
This private villa have great facilities. Children loves the pool. Very nice villa. Very nice staff.
It's hard to find the villa. But it treat you well. I had 3 day there and eveything worth. Cause it's seem quite far to the center of Ubud, it's really nice place to relaxing out of the crowd.
The location was prime. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room and pool were well maintained and the Indonesian breakfast was delicious.
Very nice private villa. Clean and comfortable with our own pool. Staff provided a cell phone to contact them. They brought breakfast each morning and there was a small kitchen in the villa. Light was burnt out for outdoor shower so didn't get to use. We had told them it was our anniversary and they had beautiful swans and a heart made from flowers on the bed. They also had the tub filled with rose petal sprinkled in the water. They would not allow a late check out though.
Would recommend this property if you are looking for good value for money -private villa with pool at a reasonable price, located close to ayung river for white water rafting, food choices very limited within the resort, and found cockroaches in the bathtub ,however the pool is awesome and recommended highly if you want a different experience apart from the hotel kind of experience
try this villa if what you need is a peaceful and far from crowds place to stay. the room was so big, pool was clean. all the facilities worked flawlessly. in one side, i think they need to put some lights around the pool and park outside the house, cos it's pretty dark outside even only after 6 pm.
Very good stay there especially shuttle car to go into the city. Staff are friendly and very good service. would recommend for someone who need quiet place to stay.
I love the place it is very traditional style . The pool is not having heater so I did not use it :( .. احببت المكان ، فله على الطراز القديم .. المسبح الخاص لايوجد به تدفئه فلم استفد منه لبرودة الجو هناك
The staff at Cocoa were amazing. They were friendly and ensured our stay in Ubud was a pleasant one. Offered free shuttle to and from the Villa to Ubud centre which was approximately 15min drive pending on traffic. Will definitely consider staying here again.
EXCELLENT
This place is really good. Definitely stay here if I go again. Awesome staff. They took real good care of us. Clean villa. Good facilities. They also arrange bali tours. You can bargain the tour package :) . I even met the owner Wayan on last day. Had a pleasant conversation with him. Nice guy and helpful just like his staff. They even provide you with a calling cellphone to call staff or make local calls. Would have given all 5 stars but finding this place is little tough. Use Google. Have also highlighted the same to the owner. Otherwise this place has no issue. You will definitely enjoy your stay here. You won't feel like leaving this place.
The villa is really lovely and the overall service is amazing!!! I personnaly recommend all the tourists to order the large pizza from the villa upon arriving there! It cost 9,500 IDR and it's really good quality/price. Also, this villa offers a free daily shuttle to downtown Ubud wich is very convenient. I recommend you to ask the driver to offer you a day tour in Ubud if you want to see the waterfall, monkey forest, wood carving artisans and Taman Ayun temple for about 550,000 IDR! Overall stay is a 10/10 for us :)
The staffs were very nice and super polite. We had issue with the toilet flush and the technician came immediately. The villa is clean. Location a bit secluded. Perfect for relaxing. Breakfast served punctual. Recommended.
Pros: Private pool and the pools are amazing. Located is quite remote but still within Ubud centre. Cons: Waze cant find it accurately. Aircond wasnt cool enough and bath foam wasnt provided during our stay. We didnt inform though as we're too busy exploring Ubud. Overall is worth to stay if u're looking for privacy and calm place.
“Overall really good experience aside from a couple interruptions”
Pros: a great staff that were very kind and available for all our needs. Gave us a phone to communicate taxi pick up. Excellent breakfast options. Beautiful villa. Cons: a few times the water was turned off so no showering or toilet use which kind of was inconvenient in the early morning and night.
