“Not so impressive”
Although this villa has a colonial feel, there are some issues which cannot be overlooked. Food (3/5)- The food here is way too expensive, the dal tadka costs Rs. 400 and the amount is not even sufficient for two people. A plain omlette (just salt and pepper) that we ordered cost us Rs.250! The breakfast spread is also not impressive, one has to ask for toast, milk, fruits, eggs which are part of any basic breakfast buffet. Service during breakfast is also slow as there are only two people serving and all items are not displayed for guests to take directly. The only good part is that the food preparation is really delicious. Service (3/5): There is a shortage of staff so during breakfast the service is not just slow but sometimes mixed up. The staff is helpful but take time in clearing up. Room service is decent. Room (1.5/5): We booked a super deluxe room which was supposed to be soundproof. The condition of the room was not at all good with the parquet floor creaking and wobbly in some places, and we could hear everything from outside as well as the next room clearly, so not at all soundproof. At night the sound bothered us more disturbing our sleep and there is no fan in the room to down the sound. Overall, this place gives a good view of the Nilgiris and Coonoor city, is close to the tourist spots and offers tasty food with well-behaved staff, but the rooms, food prices and service speed are very discouraging.

“Great unique hotel”
The hotel itself is so picturesque and has one of the best views of the city. The food is top notch, however the rooms are quite small.

“A once beautiful property now neglected by the owner!”
I have been to this property about 4-5 times in the last 15 years...and this time i genuinely found that the property has lost its charm as it is not being maintained by the owner. As the property became famous as bookings started coming back to back...the owner forgot that wear and tear will also go up and living upto the its charm and maintenance will not happen automatically...and one would require additional full time 24x7 housekeeping staff, maintained garden, looking after guest and there needs is not optional... A basic item like Room Heater is also not available in Room! Kindly keep your expectations low so that you will be much disappointed!

“Scenic view worth the money”
Kudos to Mr Dominic Savio and his team for making our stay one of the most memorable in a long time. What's amazing is that you get to stay in the same property which was used for the film/ series shootings of Sam Bahadur, Kapoor & Sons and Out of Love

“It was a good stay”
The room was good and they have given a comp upgrade to us. Also the staffs were really good. Only thing was TV was not working whole time. Rest all are really good. I gill give 8/10.

the property had a party in the dining hall and the group overflowed to the rooms sections, and it was very noisy and till late we were unable to sleep and there was no one in the reception to help contain the noise, additionally the hotel had a wedding in the lawns so we were unable to enjoy the view and the it was noisy as they were setting up the tents, went there for the view and peace and quite and got nether

“Worst managed property”
Beautiful property, being handled by worst management. We have booked our stay for 4 nights, 2 deluxe cottages. It was like paying for 5 star category and staying at Fish market. They are more keen on running dhaba and least bothered about disturbance to inhouse guests. After 10:30 am prople keeps on coming at restaurant and cafe till 10:30 pm. There is no restrictions or access control to outside guests, they are allowed to rome entire property and disturbing inhouse guests. Do not book this property and waste your money to spoil your vacation. You can stay at any other good property in surrounding area and enjoy views from this property by simply having a cup of coffee at coffee shop situated at enterence of this property. So please don't waste your hard earned money.

“A colonial era villa converted to a Hotel”
A 130 year-old mansion converted to a Hotel. It has 180 degree view of town and surrounding hills. The staff is courteous and accommodating. Breakfast buffet spread is limited but everything is tasty.

It was fantastic stay in 180 Mciver . It was very nice place . Neat and tidy. It was a pleasant stay with no noise pollution or people gathering . Its a good stay with kids to play around on lawn . There is no much interaction with staff , however they were fine . Its in center of Coornoor . Food was good but felt high in price .

We booked two rooms to stay for 1 week. Property is good but no maintenance. faced water problem from day 1. every day need to complain for water not coming in the bathroom. No happy with stay.

Overall stay was good. Location is very peaceful and the view is perfect. Hospitality they need to improve a lot as per the price. Staff response is very slow.

“Great Property, Horribly Managed”
This is a great property with a lot of potential but not one person on the property is available for any sort of service. Breakfast is also quite mediocre. Usually South Indian. The Room we got was amazing with all the bells and whistles but there is too much light let in from sunrise so expect to get up at 6 am bright and early. You will be tossing and turning due to the dogs howling at night and the loudspeaker in the wee hours of the morning!

You would have seen this hotel in many movies. Location is perfect. Rooms are huge. You can find all the basic amenities. Food options are limited. Staff is not welcoming and helpful.

Beautiful location, stellar views. Love the colonial aesthetic. Unfortunately during our stay, the Wifi wasn't working. The head of staff promised us this would be rectified the next morning but the problem persisted for three days. Also, our room was not cleaned over the duration of our visit. So in summary: beautiful property, complacent staff

“Excellent view of coonor city and great lawn”
We stayed for 1 night. We liked the lawn which is huge and have been well maintained. Children can roam around and play and you can just sit in the chair and enjoy the lovely view. Evening become much better with great sunset to give you company. Rooms are good. It's old world. Food in the cafe is good. But overall they lack in staff, be it in the cafe or in cleaning department, they lack a bit in there. Also the road from coonor town to this place is very very narrow with only one car to pass by, there too you will see autos coming in and as you go it becomes more narrow and steep, so take care of that or else just navigate via ooty kotagiri road, it's good. Overall good place to stay and have a relaxed vacation.
