“Great stay and superb value for money”
This hotel has great amenities including a clean pool, well maintained gym and prompt and efficient housekeeping. The location is perfect for exploring nearby attractions and staff are friendly and attentive. Food is good keeping in mind the diverse patrons, we specifically found it a bit bland but that's probably just our taste... Overall we had a great stay at Southern Star, would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Mysore.

“Amazing Stay”
We stayed there for one day and it was an amazing experience. Staff was very humble and cooperative. Amazing Breakfast and Dinner😋. Good thing is the location. You can cover Zoo, place and other sites within a day!! Thank you! Hotel Southern for an amazing hospitality!!

“Not to be said as 5 star hotel”
Hospitality is average from onbaording to serving food , felt is it a 5 star hotel? Confusion in onbaoridng, fouls smell in the entire floor etc etc

“Fake information in Agoda ”
Room size mentioned in Agoda is 323 sq.ft but they gave room size around . 240 -260 sq.ft I have raised a concern till now no response They are modern thieves , until now no bill is received to my business email Agoda is also not taking any action

“Favorite property in Mysore”
Well maintained property that we have seen improving especially after the lockdown. Happy to see it bustling and happy staff and guests all around. Food quality is great, rooms are great and housekeeping is prompt.

“Good Place to stay for short trip to Mysore”
The establishment is quite old.. But keep in mind, it is very well maintained, in terms of infrastructure, even expansion of buildings and facilities are also taken care of. Very very well maintained. My family did enjoy the courtship. And there is the Gardenia by the poolside... very beautiful place to just seat in and have a sip of your morning tea or coffee. It would just simmer you down. Now, every good has some areas of improvement also. They should stop putting price tags for water. There were 2 water bottles 1lit capacity from aquafina just another market brand, on the counter top.. with their pricing as Rs. 39. When the mrp was written as Rs 20. This was blunt on the eyes. And funny thing was, they are also giving complimentary water on the run. Not sure whats the purpose of having those price tagged plastic water bottles on the counter top.

“Perfect stay in a central location ”
I've stayed in different hotels on JLB Road over the years, but Southern Star ended up being the best of the lot. Most of the staff was amazing and extremely friendly except for the receptionists during the day shift. I'm not sure what's wrong but they just frown at everyone who's walking in as if they don't want them around. The lady receptionist was extremely rude to her subordinates as well and seems to have an attitude problem. They didn't have my booking from Agoda and fumbled around a bit with getting the details. We also didn't get the bill copy while checking out. The rest of the staff was excellent, especially the bellhop and the dining staff. The location is extremely convenient to get to all the major tourist spots and you can easily walk and get to them if the weather's good. Food was good as well and they even accomodated some special requests that we made. We even availed the laundry service and all the clothes were perfectly laundered and folded and delivered.

“Super property, very well maintained ”
Very good property, very well maintained. Food is nice, breakfast spread is decent. Pool side resturant is well arranged especially at night. Overall very good.

“A relaxing long weekend ”
Very very clean rooms, the breakfast spread is good. Their in-house restaurant Zest serves very good food as well. Service is great. Made kid-friendly dishes for us. The pool was temperature-controlled and clean. Centrally located from all the sights in Mysore. Had a very relaxing weekend at Southern Star.

“Great stay with room for improvement.”
Location is great, easily accessible to railway station and bus stand. Rooms are good and can be improved. Only Breakfast was complementary and it was really good. Overall a 4 out of 5.

“Passable”
Room was not clean. We had to tell supervisor who apologised. Restaurant staff were very good, especially Abishek, Esther, Pinku,Hatkim. Food was good. Reception staff were not helpful at all. Location is good. But Mysore in general was deceiving

“Great location, with easy access to sights”
A plain facade belies a bright modern interior. Reception staff were welcoming but didn't always understand our requests. Pool area in garden setting was a pleasant respite from the busy city. And offered daily yoga classes. (Only gripe would be not enough sunbeds) Pleasant poolside cafe.

“Good hotel in a nice location, very near to Mysore Palace ”
A great place to stay, clean rooms, good location, and supportive staff. Food in the restaurant was great including the breakfast. Abhishek Roy in the restaurant was particularly very attentive to the guests. Hope to stay in this hotel in the near future.

We had a pleasant and comfortable stay at the hotel. The staff and management was very accommodating and helpful. They catered to our needs and requirements. Breakfast was also quite good. Will definitely stay here agin on my next trip to Mysore.

“Pleasant stay, friendly staff, nice location, and delicious food”
We enjoyed our stay at the Southern Star Mysuru. The ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with many delicious options. I appreciate the exceptional service from Abhishek in the Restaurant and the entire team. The location was convenient, near many attractions. There were a few things that could be improved, though. The bathrooms could use some TLC, like better exhaust ventilation and fixing the peeling wood. But overall, it was a great experience!

Overall our experience at Southern Star Mysore was good. The location is excellent along with their service. The rooms were compact. I felt for the facility being offered the Tariff was Pricey.

“Not a 5 star but a 3 star”
The hotel description of being a 5 star is misleading. It’s actually a 3 star stay. The room is decent, amenities are minimum and the food is subpar.
