The location is great., toilet is very small but very clean.,
cockroaches everywhere, towel are like rugs... small rooms no window. my first and the last.
The location is good because TST is downtown. The room is very small with two beds but it is clean and is being cleaned everyday, towels are changed too. Receptionist is very nice, even gave my son a bear for his birthday. We checked out at 11 and left our luggages there so we went shopping first before leaving HK. The rate for my dates are just too high due to holidays and a festival I think in HK so for me I believe I paid too much for a small room.
Excellent location, located in Tsim Sha Tsui (near MTR TST station exit D5). The bedroom is small but comfortable enough for 4. However, in our first night there was a cockroach under the bed, and it was dusty under the bed as well so I hope they could improve the housekeeping on this regard. Also, it would be ideal if there would be a separate bidet for the toilet for easy access.
noisy.. a lot of cockroaches in the room.. the mirador mansion is a very congested place... See for yourself 😬😬
nice place to stay! Filipino staff are the best!
I stayed for 4 nights with my husband and 2 kids (11 and 8 yrs old. We stayed in a triple room and everything is just more than enough if you just need a resting place to sleep soundly.. We got a window room that we can open every early morning for proper ventilation. the aircon and wifi all worked perfectly.. I guess the host needs to fix the wall papers in the room but other than that everything is great. free water with mini ref. very near tsim sha tsui station exit D1 and N5. there is a lot of good things I can say, near affordable food restaurants : tsu wah, mcdonalds, KFC and yoshinoya… I will go back here again once back in HK,, I highly recommend to budget family travelers.
will stay again
Clean and excellent location
Location was excellent, Mirador mansion is very near to bus, shops, restaurants and MTR station, they also have a free water at the corridor and they clean the room everyday even you don't ask for it, but the downside is there is a faul smell sometimes inside the room and gets off after you turn on the AC and the fan. Over all good value for money.
The staff is not helping. When we went back at night. There is no drinking water and no one pick up the call to refill the water. There is wifi but we can not do anything cause there is no signal all day long.
Good location, value for money and excellent staff.
The place is clean. The caretakers were nice especially Ate Marlyn. Will definitely go back.
Did not get the room. Will never recommend. NEVER....
Entrance is okay. Once you reach the level/floor, it was a scary. It's as if it was an abandoned building and if this was not paid, my friend and I couldhave left/cancelled our reservation. J2 hotel itself is okay.nice staff with cute room. The building itself is just really scary.
old building.... with water dispenser .... location is good .... we stay 3rd floor ....
The guesthouse was so small as expected. The hallway was full of boxes. No heater in the room so we were freezing. Regardless of these things, the filipinas were so accommodating and friendly.
This place is recommended to people who need a room for relaxing after a long day.free hot and cold water. The room is not big but spacious enough for your luggage and stuff. Very affordable and located at the heart of town. Hallway is a little bit scary but actually it's so safe.Cctv camera is every where. Just one thing,it's noisy when staff talk to each other. But all in all it's great value for money.Filipina staff are the best. Will book again.
The check in counter was difficult to find. Should have informed the guest before check in. The staff were really nice and accommodating.
This property made us feel very much at home in the few days that we were in HK last week. We got a free room upgrade from twin to triple because there was no more available twin room during check-in. This afforded us more space for moving around, which we liked. Our room isn't the typical matchbox-type & it provided us just what we needed in a room for our stay. The toilet is also big (vs. the typical size in HK hostels), which we also liked. Moreover, the Pinay staff was quite accommodating & that made our stay even better.
Everything is okay except the wifi. The hostel offers hot and cold and this is quite new. I will come back soon.
Good location, value for money, peacefull environment, nice staff (thx miss rose).
Same with my review above. Location good, staff friendly(miss rose). Additional comment is for hotel if they want to change the bedcover or tidy up the room better to tell the guest before so they will know that the staff will come in to tidy up our room with or without our confirmation.
Staff is pinoy so easy to talk to, but they usually come late at 10am, so no reception that will attend to you if you have concerns from 10pm - 10am, even if you call on the numbers on the reception doorstep no one will answer.
Good location and friendly staff
not that bad as i thought a hostel/motel in hk should be. can choose it if u have limited travel budget. just very conveniently located in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The service is fantastic..the staff is so accommodating..i highly recommend this guesthouse..till next time J2 thank you so much for the great room and friendly staff
Upgraded to family room on a diff. floor. Pros: free water and ref to use, central location, fast internet connection, good airconditioning, location Cons: dont expect hotel like bed, comforters, etc. Cleanliness of sorrounding hallways not so good but manageable. Tip: call receptionist to change towels and clean room if you need. Always refill water bottle b4 going out., Use tst mtr station exit A2 for comfort, change money at Best money changer near the security ofc for good rates. Email guest house and advuce if you will be coming beyond 11 pm for them to expect a late check in. Reception is at 3rd flr room A9. Used the phone outside to call.
Location is very close to MTR and Victoria Harbor. Perfect for budget travel and if you are just staying in your room to sleep. Don't expect hotel facilities like gym, room service etc.
nice room
The hotel is hard to locate. You can smell smokes inside the room .very noisy and the cr is very smalĺ...the location is great tho.
Despite the location of the hostel is inside a bigger establishments but when you get inside you are amazed by the cleanliness despite also how cramped the room is. The room is complete with toilet, AC, Tv but no wardrobe / closet.
What you see is what you get and the price is actually good if you are not bothered by the shady façade then this place is good for you. When we went there we are not aware of the shady façade. The path going to the room is like an old movie. You will pass by a dumpster. But once you get inside the house it's okay. The caretaker was soooo accommodating and the place is near every bus and trains stops :)
Cheap price.n near mosque, many restaurant. & MTR
Guesthouse offers free drinking water, towels, toothbrush, shampoo and bath soap. They have hot and cold shower too. We never had a problem with the room we paid. They clean the room and change our towels everyday. Room is in Mirador Mansion that is really close to MTR TST N5 exit station and A21 #13 Cameron Road bus stop. Nearby common food chains are MCDO, KFC and Yoshinoya. There are lots of money exchange booth along TST. We had no problem with the lifts. the hallways look scary at first but when you are used to the place, you'll feel better and safe. There are Indians at the ground floor but don't get intimidated by them. but overall, we loved our stay here. We will surely go back in HK and stay in this guesthouse again. Pinay assistants are very accomodating. More power! ❤️
For the budget conscious, this place is recommended when your travel objective is to spend most of your time outdoors and go back to your hotel very late at night just to get a good night quality sleep and wake up the next day feeling refreshed for your leisure trip outdoors once again. For the hotel room: though tiny for a twin sharing room with toilet and tiny sink, total area of 7 sq meters.. Quality of the bed, clean white sheets, warm comforter, good working water heater and air-condition unit, uninterrupted water supply, drinking water, clean surroundings inside the room and hallways, flat screen TV with limited local channels and hazy reception, daily towel provisions (towel quality not very good though, you may want to bring your own towel if you are the sensitive type), were my top priorities and considerations in choosing this hotel aside from the prime location and accessibility to MTR and A21 Airport Bus which is also of great importance as well. This hotel met my criteria in general. Don't expect a lobby to accommodate the guests coz there's none. Mirador Mansion is a private ,commercial building converted to hostels which are done by most unit owners to generate income because of its prime location. Hallway to the guest house unit is not very pleasant but tolerable. Elevator is small but way better than the other mansion beside Holiday Inn Golden Mile. MRT station D1 Exit is located just outside of the hotel which is really convenient, However, it has has no escalator going up or down. Brace yourself for approx 60 steps up and down from the station. If you travel with elderly or young children, be ready for the agony or take another exit but a bit longer walk around before reaching the hotel. Or you can other mode of transportation for comfort and convenience. Very nice and helpful Filipino staff which is a plus for me.. will definitely consider this hotel or its affiliates for my next Hong Kong visit.
We had a great stay though we only stay for a night. The rooms are small but comfortable and safe. You get what you paid for.The hotel is located in the middle of the city.Easy for transportation ( bus, train and ferry). Near to shopping mall, sightseeing and restaurant. We will surely come back and stay with you again.
Nice Location Friendly Staff
it's ok for one or two nights
J2 Guest House is a cozy spot amidst the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. Reading through the internet prior to my travel, I already have an idea that most of the accommodation in Hong Kong is really small and cramped up. Thus going to J2 Guest House, my expectation of sleeping inside a match box for a couple of days was already set. When I stepped into the Mirador Mansion for the first time to check in a little past midnight, it was even more overwhelming because of almost-dilapidated and really old look of the building. However, my perspective changed when we were finally inside our room. It is small, yes, but surprisingly cozy. It may be out of tiredness, but we were able to get more than 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep. And despite the shady reputation of Mirador, I felt secure with the locks installed in the main and in our room doors. In terms of location, this neighborhood is in the center of everything. Mirador Mansion is right beside the Tsim Tsa Tsui Station of the MTR red line. Just ride to the Lai King Station and you have access to the MTRs serving Disneyland and Ngong Ping Cable Car. Ride to Central and you have access to the Victoria Peak and Ocean Park. And when you want to unwind, right outside the building are a mix of commercial brand stores and thrift shops for great finds. Lastly, special mention to J2 staff Kaye for being really accommodating and friendly. See you again in our next visit to Hong Kong, Kaye!
Great location for tourist, easy access to MTR, bus stop, star ferry. Don't expect too high on the comfortably as the room is just great for sleep not more than that - very small & cramp room if you are travelling with family more than 5 pax (2 adults + kids). Muslim food no issue if you are muslim travellers - kowloon masjid just near by.
PRO: Good location, just beside Tsim Sha Tsui station. CON: Very small room, the whole complex is scary and doesn't guarantee safety & privacy.
Good value, good staff, good location
The place was ok bec its near in everything.. The room is small but its convenient and worth for that price. One thing is that, they only change the towel only and not the bed sheet. They provide toothpaste on the first day only, the lift is always full and need to wait..if your looking for a cheap hotel, will recommend this.
Remember the check-in time is 11am because the staffs only start work at 11am. Seen some guests stand in front of Reception of J2 Guest House in the early morning, wait for check-in. Same management with Lily Guest house.
Sweaty and cramped, poor cleanliness and uncooperative staff. Spent minimum time in the hotel
“Great location. Very accommodating staff.”
We checked in late but never had a problem as they are very accommodating and attentive to our requests. The room is clean and they provide clean towels everyday. Check out time is 11am but they allowed as to leave our things so we could still roam around Mongkok before going to the airport. Highly recommended! Thank you so much to the pinay staff for attending to our needs!
