good location, near metro.
I highly recommend this guesthouse - one of the only places with sitting out area. right bang in cente of jordan just outside MTR. staff were brilliant and happy and its family owned and run with some pride. trust me this is a rare thing to find in hong kong. i hope they can expand and get more rooms so i can always stay here!
The owner Jim is so friendly. Actually the room is quite nice but it smelled bad (toilet smell). I already checked my room toilet and clean it, but the smell was still present. It seems the source of the smell was not from our room but from outside. Because I arrived to the hotel too night, I can’t told Jim. Hope it will be improved.
Bed is too short for tall people (175 CM)
Dan was very helpful and he makes sure you feel at home. Do not expect hotel standards because this is a hostel. The rooms and toilets are kinda cramped but this is normal in HK. Good place to sleep in but not recommended if you plan to have your honeymoon here. Noise from other guests can be heard from outside the door. Overall, this is okay for single or group travelers.
We stayed here for two nights last January 29-30,2018, at first we were difficult to find the hotel, you can ask sir Dan the receptionist of the hotel. It is very near in Jordan Station just a 2-3mins walk.. Good value for the money, and for the chocolate lover, the hotel is very near in PRIZEMART the cheapest store for chocolates :) :)
(1) 1st time travelers to Hong Kong note - "hotel" concept in HK’s Nathan road is different from SE Asia/ Europe. These are apartments in a building converted into hotels. Rooms are really tiny in any hotel (2) Hoi Shing Hotel is far better than hotels in the Chungking Mansion. Avoid Chungking. (3) This property is on the 1st floor, so easy to use stairs. No need to wait for lift, which are small & crowded My experience: (1) hotel was locked when I reached. Had to make a few phone calls to get someone to come & open. It would have been a big problem if my cell phone wasn't working or did not have international dialing. (2) Staff is friendly, fun & room is clean & comfortable. They have boiled drinking water for consumption & provide cups & tea bags on demand. Wifi works. They safely keep luggage after checkout till we can pick it up. (3) Only 1 drawback-sewer system in the building stinks at night &smell permeates throughout the apartment &into the room &we kept waking up due to it
very near MRT and walk within 10min reach temple street
Pros - We were given a room from another hotel K&B Hostel. But we are not complaining as we were given a triple room instead of the twin room that we booked. More room space. Used the extra bed to put our bags and stuff. Wifi was good. Room and beds were clean. Location was excellent. Just beside Jordan MTR exit B1.
I found the Hoi Shing Hotel to be cheap, comfy, in a great location and had friendly staff. While the rooms are small, all cheap hotels in Hong Kong are like that. The hotel is right next to an exit of Jordan MTR, and there is 2 supermarkets, 1 minute walk away, let alone heaps of other shops and markets. I would stay here again
Or maybe because I stay during new year season so the hotel was fully booked and the staff is not around. Dan ( the guy is in charge ) he is very helpful at the day one when we were check in and the rest of the day until we check out he is disappear, so its hard to ask them to help for anything we need. Over all from 1 to 10 I will score 7 because of the exit hotel location is in front of the Jordan Station exit G. Next time I will try another hotel to stay in HK.
The house where hotel is looks rather downrun. It is difficult to find which elevator to use to get to hotel. Surroundings in hotel are by no means modern nor spotless. However, rooms were clean and renovated, small but ok. Surprisingly quiet even though located in busy crossroads. Friendly staff when they are there. Don't expect Hilton as you are not paying for Hilton. Hence rather good quality for money. Location is excellent.
When checking in, no one to be seen at the front desk. Cannot recommend this establishment because did not stay, was bumped to another accommodation without advise of the change. Not ethical, especially not knowing what you actually paid for. The alternative single bed accommodation (New Lucky Guest House) in the same building was small, however was clean, quiet and owner, very friendly. Agoda should set stricter guidelines
It was value-for-money for both times we stayed here. Took the triple room plus a twin room this time. Good service from Dan and another man. There was daily tidying of our rooms but it was erratic. Still we encountered baby cockroaches every day in our triple room.
Good Points: 1. The hotel is very close to the train station (Jordan) 2. The room is not that spacy, though enough for us to sleep in and keep our things safe while out for the day 3. Has hot and cold shower Something to Improve: 1. Receptionist/Staff does not know how to speak english (although he contacted someone by phone to give the instructions in english) 2. We left our dirty towels on the bed to be replaced. Staff got them, but were never replaced with clean towels. 3. The electric socket has 3 pins/holes, the hotel has an adaptor which only fits a shaver and not cellphone charger.
We have faced a number of problems during our stay at Hoi Shing but Dan has gave us lotsa assistance to solve them all. We are so glad to learn that there are freeflow serving of hot/warm water throughout. Nevertheless, superb location - just above one of the subway exit. Will wanna stay at this place again!!
Great budget place for travellers; location looks old but Hoi Shing itself looks well maintained. Location is the best; just outside the building is exit B1 already of Jordan Station. Dan is accommodating although only got to see him once only during check in. Overall, would not mind staying here again :)
5 steps away from jordan station.. quiet.. close to everything.. room was clean.. host is very friendly and helpful.. my only recommendations: bed is small, dont expect a queen size.. kind of complicated to check in as doors are closed. make sure you sync about ur arrival time in advance with Dan..
We already inform them in advance for late check in. But once we arrived there. No more room available. They said they can not find our reservation. And the worst i need to make an international call to call the owner for nothing!! Just to tell us to contact agoda customer service.. Very bad experience
We were transferred to another guesthouse on the same building. we booked for a room good for 3 but we were given a room good for 5. It was clean and April, the host is very friendly (although she doesn't speak english). The room was clean, heater and aircondition working well
This location was great, literally right outside Jordan station. I would recommend getting a room with a window if staying longer than 2 nights because it's a small Room and can smell musty, even the hallway. Staff was really nice.
Great location, literally next to Jordan MTR station exit B1 very convenient. Staff is very friendly. A staff will clean up your the room everyday. If you really tight on a budget or just want to have a nice place to stay after strolling around Hong Kong I’d definitely recommend this place.
great place to stay, clean. great location.
The good things is the location is very strategic, the bad things is thier level of cleanliness especially the bedsheet.
Dan is very accomodating, we got 2 triple rooms and one of tje room was upgraded to family room , the place is surrounded by many restaurant and just beside Jordan MTR station, bus route is very convenient from /to the airport.
Mr. Dan was very accommodating as well as his neighboring guest hotel staff, Thelma. Thelma works with another guest house but she also assist Hoi Shing. Hoi Shing is not a hotel- it's a guest house in New lucky house bldg just like in Chungking mansions. But the vibe is much okay since it is more quiet and it is really just in front of Exit B of Jordan station. the bldg facility was not that pleasing to the eyes but the inside of guest houses were okay. Though rooms are small. Not recommended to travelers above 5.6" height. Make sure to contact Mr. Dan if you will check-in late since he leaves his office at 4 or 6pm (where you will confirm booking) so better check-in on designated check-in time. Water is okay, with hot and cold options. fast internet. bring your own adapter for charging but you can request to borrow theirs as well. Australia Dairy company, the famous Lee Keung Kee North Point egg waffles and the temple street market are all walking distance from the place.
Next to Jordan MTR exit B1. Building is run down but room is ok. Aircon cold. Heater working. Toilet not too small. Room size ok. Wifi ok. Friendly host. And yes, the room is quiet once you close the window. Perfect.
I booked a room with double bed and they gave us a triple bed room on the 2nd floor so we had a bigger space. I chose this hotel mainly because of it's location. Next to mtr station Jordan, the hotel rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floor so it's very easy to get in and out using the stairs instead of waiting for the slow moving and small elevator of the old building. convenient stores, temple street night market, and restaurants nearby. very convenient. The rooms are clean and secured. The owner and housekeeper are warm and accommodating but they are not always at the front desk. If you can take care of things by yourself you'll be fine and you will like it. contact the owner at least a day before you arrive, otherwise, you'll be lucky to have someone assist you at check in. I'll stay here again when we return to Hong Kong.
Strategic location near MTR exit B1. Easily to airport by bus A22. Very clean, convenient and value of money. Staff super helpful and will come back again for next visit. Thanks Hoi Shing Hotel.....
Hoi Shing is located in Jordan area. When you take the MTR and walk out of Exit B1, you will see the entrance into the New Lucky House building. Great thing is the MTR life exit is just a few steps away, so making lugging big luggage a breeze. Room size is quite small but Dan had been very kind to move me (I am a big sized girl with a large luggage) to a double room when the guesthouse was not so full. There is security camera and passcode access, so I feel really safe. But the doors aren't that quiet but I am quite used to wearing ear plugs to sleep. There are two convenient stores just outside the guesthouse. And if you cross over the junction, there are some great cha cang tang/coffee shop for your breakfast/lunch/dinner. Just don't go to the one just beside the 7-11, food is only so-so, salty and oily.
This is the first time we stay at Hoi Shing Hotel. And we are surprise for the cleanliness of the room, room is small, but this is Hong Kong, everything is small and packed :). The location is crazy, in the heart of the city and just NEXT to JORDAN MTR!! and airport bus A22 just stop infront of the hotel !! The owner of the hotel also very nice and very welcome. Check in and check out is hassle free. Will be back again when we visit HK!

All broken promisses and no reception at check out
Good Location and near MRT station. Room a bit too small and be careful with hot water when you take a shower !!
The location is good, MTR exit B1. The owner, Dan, is pleasant and helpful. But the room is too small for us (4). There's no space anymore to do praying inside the room. And It's not easy to find halal food around.
I stayed here for three days, great location - B1 exit from Jordan. The room we had smelled due to sewers most likely but just make sure to close the door for the toilet and you'll be all right. I would defiantly return. If you happen to stay here make sure to go Temple Street Night Market - 4 minutes walking distance.
Good location, good service. The mrt and 7-11 just at the door step. Recommend one restaurant at opposite, call 马华餐馆(Malaysian Chinese Restaurant)。 The food over there are delicious. Value for money.
The room was not ready while check-in. The housekeeping has not cleaned & tidied the room daily. The environment is complicated and strange with different types ownership.
although the hotel was too small and located on one floor in a very old building, we still enjoyed our stay here. the room was okay but the bathroom was transparent! I was with my mother haha. So one must be sleeping or outside the room if you wanted to use it. the staff was not there all the time so lucky if you're able to see him during checkout. cctv everywhere in the hotel which was good to feel safe and secured
very near the exit of JORDAN MTR STATION. TIP: EXIT TO B1 Dan is very approachable
n/a
Just step out to Exit B1 of Jordan mtr station you will see the entrance The room is not that big but ok for Hong Kong. Some Facilities are old(my bed was too noisy) but staff Dan speak very good english and very kind. Nice place.
The owner Dan was very helpful and kindly helped with all our requests. The hotel is located right at the exit of metro station Jordan, just around the corner of temple market with many restaurants, and there is an airport bus stop opposite of the building. Rooms face a little court between buildings, so very quiet at night. Clean and convenient location with friendly staff for a relaxed stay in Hong Kong!
There's so much to like about this hotel (guest house) - located right beside Jordan MTR, near Temple St Market and Nathan Rd, it has its own courtyard garden that was decorated for Christmas. Dan who runs the place was always friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. Sure the rooms are tiny, but in this price bracket it's what you expect in Hong Kong and there was space under the two single beds for our suitcases - very important! There is a grubby courtyard area beside the corridor to the hotel (owned by someone else) but once inside Hoi Shing it's clean and secure, with electronic keypad on main door and your own room key. We'd happily stay there again.
very dirty surrounding and old awful building.... towels are not clean
We had a pleasant stay at Hoi Shing. Near MTR (literally, entrance is in front of station). Dan was really nice and accommodating and speaks English well (so don't worry about communication). Rooms were clean and well kept even though the building looks a bit run-down. Would definitely consider staying here again when we go back. Thanks again Dan!
it's was okay. not too bad.
had bad experience staying in budget hotel in HK which are old, small, bad condition etc. But Hoi Shing Hotel gave me a total different experience! the staff (Dan) is nice & friendly & helpful, despite my late check in around 11pm, he is still being very friendly and attending my requests. Rooms here are well maintained & clean! They clean the room every day. Definitely is a good choice to stay here!
Exactly located at the exit of Jordan Station B1. Nice staff.
“Good, but no receptionist”
Use the reception phone to call Dan if he is absent from the reception desk. Everything else was as expected, with good value for money.
