Super spacious room and comfortable bed in a great location in the heart of the city . It does get a little noisy at night but that didn't bother us. It's close to bars and restaurants and walking distance to lots of sights. There was no breakfast available and a little disappointed the rooftop bar was closed - should update hotel details for this.
I've stayed at Rachana 10+ times over the years. It's great value for money, WiFi is fast, there is aircon, fridge and cable TV, and the staff are super nice. It's just around the corner from excellent and cheap local and foreign restaurants, and a short 5 minute walk through a temple to the riverside boardwalk for great sunsets and Phnom Penh nightlife. Highly Recommend!
A lovely cosy room although the bed was a bit hard. Nice touches in the room like nice rug and a plant! Hot water, kettle, fridge, coffee and tea and water provided, nice helpful staff, great location within stumbling distance of lots of bars and restaurants.
Lovely cosy room! Quiet considering it’s location. Window overlooking another building to the side. Bed was firm. Bathroom big and clean with hot water, TV, clothes rack, sockets etc. Water each day. Nice helpful staff! Would stay again!
Location is nice in walking distance to the palace and the riverfront. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they gave us a better room with a window and without charging more! We totally recommend it!
I had to move in a room with no window which was a bad experience. After complaining, i could go back in the first room which was very nice. A pity though to jave to change room twice in 3 days.
Staff were polite and friendly but the place needs improvement as to cleanliness and facilities. It’s a steep climb to the upper floors since there was no elevator Location wise ok since it’s walking distance to the Royal Palace and right next to local restaurants.
The hotel is good situated. The staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are very clean.
Prons: - cheap - sort of clean - good location (walkable distance to the Royal palace and national museum) Cons: - really noise the whole night and almost couldn’t fall into sleep - facilities are terrible
stayed at this hotel before, and stay was okay rooms were clean. this time however there bed bugs everywhere room was dirty, the rooftop bar seemed to be closed down. everything seemed to be in disrepair. will never stay again.
Room was solid, nothing too fancy but good location and a helpful staff! Also the rooftop is cool and worth a drink👍
We took the family room so we could be 4 people in one room. There is everything we could need around. We could walk to seeing hand massage, have a beer by the river, shop, eat nice food. The museum and the royal palace is really close too. It’s simple but decorated with taste.
Definitely worth staying
The price should be lower because there was no breakfast. Room design simple but good and clean. The water heater not so good because even I set it up to the maximum temperature, the water still medium hot. The staff friendly but they so struggle to speak English and it made me hard when need something from them. Location really good and near to attracted places around river and royal palace.
Downside is no lift, if your in 2nd floor and have luggage you need to carry it..
The room was really nice. They let us do the early check-in. Thanks!
Pros: Affordable Good for a short stay only Cons: Bathroom is not so clean, and it is small. Kind of noisy at night
Our room was not available during check in time (2PM), they only made us check in 5PM!! Reason was the room was not yet clean.
Staff provided good advice and helped us book bus tickets to Siem Reap.
POSITIVE: very near to attractions in the city like the museum and palace, and the river walkway. a lot of restaurants and convenient stores around. staff very friendly and helpful. when i had no small change to pay the tuktuk driver, the receptionist lent me money. could help you with tour booking as well. NEGATIVE: there was no lift, so climbing up the steep stairs could be an issue for the elderly or people with back problems. OVERALL: i will stay here again if i am to come back to phnom penh.
Pros: great location, clean and cozy stay. Cons: stairs are too high. Dim light.
Here for a couple of nights stay. Central location. Walking distance to everything. Tucked away from noise and traffic. Would stay here again.
Nothing in room
The room I got to stay in was alright, looked good. But we realised that some rooms have mirrors, some don’t, some has fridge, some don’t, some has kettles, some don’t. It was pretty inconsistent and frustrating for us. Nevertheless, it’s very close to all the main attractions. Pretty dodgy area however, just walk in groups always. If you have additional amount to spare, best book an accommodation elsewhere. In fact, there are cheaper and nicer ones around there.
We stayed here for 2 nights and it's actually one of the best hostels and cheapest bookings we've had. This place has a cool ambience, our room was so good and fresh to look at. The receptionist and staff were nice too! I love everything about Lub d. The entire stay was totally great!
Excellent Service, great location nice room
:)
I enjoyed the view of a temple from my room and the nearby restaurants and cafes. Drawback is the street noise and navigating chaotic street in front of Rachana. Staff was friendly in assisting me with ongoing journey.
Pros: - located in the middle of the city, easy to reach Royal Palace, National Museum, Riverside, and Wat Phnom is still reachable by walk - room is clean, hot water runs well - many convenience shop, restaurants, and bar around Cons: - they give us toothbrush, but no soap/shampoo - the stairs were too steep & narrow - rooftop bar is closed Overall this hostel is good and cozy, worth to stay.
The rooms do not look anything like the photos. Very young staff “manage” the rooms and appear to do the bare minimum. Can not understand how people have given this place great reviews!!! 0 stars for the location, in an extremely unsavoury area of Phnom Penh (majority 60+ year old men with females 1/3 to 1/4 of their age).
They have excellent location which is approximate 10-15 minutes walk to the royal palace and also riverside. There are many restaurants and cafes around and they serves good food too with an affordable price. My room is clean and big, the air condition is good, not too hot and not too cold. The water heater is ok too. The staffs are very friendly and they provides useful information too. They can understand and speak English so there's no problem to communicate with them. The tuk tuk driver whom serves this hostel is friendly and honest. The only problem is the toilet was clogged everytime after shower, it's like a flood inside the toilet. Moreover, the water tap was not functioning properly as the water keeps spilling out from the basin which causes the toiletries I put beside the basin get wet.
The hotel free upgraded us to a quadruple room ! The location is really convenience as most the tourist attractions (royale palace, national museum, central market etc) were just within walking distance.
Best you can find in this area, my elder parent love this hotel so much!
Staff are very helpful and accommodating. Room is clean although on the first night of stay the aircon isn't working well.
We only stayed for on night but the place was more like a hotel than a hostel! The room was spacious enough with a really comfy bed and great aircon. Location is good and staff were really helpful. Would definitely recommend.
1.Hotel door lock is bad and unsafe 2.Towel is old and I’m stayed two night here but never replaced. 3.Room picture totally different with real one 4. Never clean the room
PROS: - Rooftop bar! (No food served, but a rad place to chill in the evening & have a few beers) - Clean and big room! - Location (distance to the river & palace) - Lots of option in the area for restaurants, pubs & cafes - Staff helpful when booking tours CONS: - Sketchy & very steep staircase (exercise caution when going either way) - Noisy! Our room was on the top floor and we still heard everything from the street - No safe or lockbox in the room - Paid in full via Agoda, but was still charged a credit card fee when we checked in...not sure what that was about... All in all, one of our preferred hostels during our time in SE Asia so far! (If you can get the "King" room on the top floor corner, we recommend it)
nice location with lots of restaurants outside and near the klook office. only problem is the flight of stairs you have to climb especially when you're tired from all that wandering.
Rachana is a good place to stay in Phnom Penh. The room is a little small but it is okay for a 1-2 day stay in the area given that it is conveniently located in the city.
Eventhough the name suggested a hostel but they provide private room and it was comfortable for 1 night stay. This is the cheapest option without giving out comfortability and privacy in Phnom Penh. They also provide shared rooms. The rooftops are amazing. Perfect for louging. The staffs are very friendly and helpful.
The hostel is good. The facilities, the value for the money , and location. Only thing I am disappointed with is that they never replied to my email prior to my arrival. I was asking them if they could pick me up at the terminal from HCM. They can assist you with booking your bus to Siem Reap conveniently though, including tours to S-21 and the killing fields. The streets around it is where most of the restaurants are and near the palace and museum. Just be mindful of the time that they lock the main door. we go locked out, good thing the receptionist that night was a light sleeper.
This hotel is a hidden gem! Close to markets and riverside. Rooms are spacious and clean and staff are very friendly and helpful.
Is a great stay. Room with aircon and private toilet. Rooftop bar at upstair. Staff willing to help you move the luggage as the stair is quite narrow and step.
It's very close to the river so its surrounding is noisy and messy.
