“非常に満足”
Great Location. Nice atmosphere. Helpful staff. We stayed a week and felt very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen which is cleaned really good early each morning. We were in a private room with fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Nice! Cleaning in the rest of the hostel was very haphazard. Mens bathrooms just got a minimal daily clean to but it kindly. Really no excuse for that.

“Average”
The rooms are good, but the bathroom downstair are the worst! It needs to renovate, stinky, and stained not pleasant for a traveller! Anyway we're still thankful because we found a new and adventurous attraction the Granite Skywalk

“Room next to toilet, strong urine smell”
A room with unacceptable strong urine smel provided, requested to change room and get charged extra. There were group of korean speaking folks that chat loudly all night long, and they prepare fish in kitchen and utilized all kitchenware, chopper board and etc, left with strong raw fish smell. Kitchen is dark in morning and cant find the switch to turn on light, no light along walkway along room too. Human shit found on bathrooms floor. Room is totally empty without fan, clothes hanger...

“Can not recommend it”
Reception was not available also when trying to call them as mentioned. Room was really dirty. Partly because people staying in that room as well seem to stay for long term but rubies bin was full etc. kitchen was not well equipped and not that clean as well.

“Great location, but not for everyone”
We had an overall good experience here. But it’s definitely not for everyone. We’re older travelers (56 - 61 years old), and prefer a bathroom that’s closer. The hostel is one big U-shape with 2 long hallways with rooms. The men’s bathroom/shower is on one hallway, and the women’s is on the other. So, depending on your gender and where your room is, you may have a bit of a hike from one side of the hostel to the other in the middle of the night. The shower rooms (all but 2) have NO hooks or anywhere to hang anything. This is such a cheap and easy fix - I hope they remedy this soon. The bed in our first room was terrible - squeaky, super soft with springs in my back. They moved us to a new room - be sure to try out the bed before unpacking. The pancakes (crepes, really) for breakfast were delicious. Location can’t be beat - you can walk to just about anything. Price seem high for what it is - we paid about the same for private hotel room with bath in Margaret River.

“Its like a family home”
Warm welcome by the staff, yummiest pancake served warm. Nice deco and exceeded the typical standard of a hostel. Private room available and PARKING !! Happening kitchen. Definitely will come back.

“Clean place. Friendly staff and backpackers”
We enjoy our stay during out last visit very much. Nice location inside city centre and close to beach and shopping centre. The bedroom, kitchen and common area are very clean. Designated smoking area at outdoor. Free breakfast with unlimited pancake from the friendly owner!

cons. I detested the noise from the unrelated Restaurant directly below most of the rooms. VERY loud music and chatting and laughing started around 10 PM Saturday night. All the guests were quiet.It was the staff kitchen cleaners from the restaurant. Will not stay here again!!

“The Pancake Place”
Very stylish old building. Feels very comfortable and safe. Parking bigger cars at the frontside of hostel is a bit of a challenge. GREAT FREE PANCAKES everyday....unlimited. Owners own cooking recipe!

“Friendly and Nice Host”
It is easy to find the hostel which is near to the main street of Albany, York Street. This is a heritage building which looks special inside the hostel. rooms are big. its also rare to find a piano and guitars in a hostel, which is quite surprised me. The host, Danny and his family are nice and helpful. free pancakes (all you can eat!) on every mornings are cooked by Danny, what a lovely man!

staffs are very friendly and they also provided us with heater as the night temperature reaches 14 degree so we have a very cozy night there. The breakfast pancakes are just to die for !

“The best backpackers hotel I ever living , if you want to stay in Albany, that's a good choice.”
When We come Albany, we just want to stay two days and going to Esperance .But the boss ,Danny and the sea around let us to stay here. We already come WA for three month , the first time we see the deep clean area in west Australia for this price and location . Highly recommend here to stay for holiday!

“NIce hostel in great location; wonderful staff ”
Had an enjoyable stay at this hostel. Both the owners and Staff were friendly and helpful and provided many recommendations. Situated in the heart of town; the hostel is a short walk to many F&B outlets, a good number of food options even at night. Room was clean and cosy, note they only have shared bathrooms though. Absolutely delicious pancakes by the owners in the morning for breakfast and they even provide the recipe as a little souvenir upon checkout. Overall, warm and enjoyable stay with a homely feel. Recommended

“Great environment and facilities”
Fully equipped kitchen, delicious free pancake breakfast and you can eat as much as you want. Nearby supermarket to shop for anything you need. Near to Anzac park for great sunset. Friendly staff who can show you all the attractions around Albany with the directions on how to get to those places.

“This basic, lively hostel with convenient accesible town”
This basic, lively hostel lies 6 minutes' walk from Albany train station, 0.6 km from the Amity museum (former merchant vessel) and 14 km from Torndirrup National Park. The bright 1- to 3-person rooms and mixed dorms share bathroom facilities and come with free Wi-Fi. All-you-can eat pancake breakfast is complimentary, with tea and coffee available 24/7. Amenities include 2 modern kitchens, plus a lounge with sofas and a flat-screen TV. There are BBQs, table tennis, a soccer field and a volleyball court. An indoor theatre offers a stage and musical instruments for use. Parking and use of bikes are free. Owner was helpful and friendly, will definitely back to Albany to 1849 backpackers.

“worth for backpackers stye traveller”
We (2 of us) stayed for 1 night. The staff coming to greet us on our arrival.The staffs also friendly and really helpful when we ask for a help. Quick respond when we request for a extra blanket and heater. We are glad as they have invited us for dinner meal (garlic bread with chicken stew). Yummy. They also served special pancake.. cool right..(they will share their secret recipe towards ur end day). The toilet and kitchen are seriously clean. We stayed at room of 2 pax. Cozy and privacy. This is our 1st time experience staying at backpackers style and this is a nice experience. Really feel like home :)

“Comfortable and pleasant stay”
Overall enjoyed 2 nights staying here. The place was surprisingly clean for backpackers compared to the other places I have been. Only downside is that there were no towels provided to us. Other than that, nice and friendly staff, location is convenient which makes us feel comfortable there.

“Worth for money”
We are 12 people traveling together. Delicious pancake for our breakfast! Nice location and near to halal kebab restaurant. Great staff that recommended us on nice place to visit. Many facilities, such as table tennis, and tv room etc. Definitely worth to stay at Albany

“Great Location”
We are 12 people traveling together. Delicious pancake for our breakfast! Nice location and near to halal kebab restaurant. Great staff that recommended us on nice place to visit. Many facilities, such as table tennis, and tv room etc. Definitely worth to stay at Albany

“It felt like a second home!”
We are 9 people from Thailand and we couldn't be anymore happier than this!! I mean it's the best place to stay over. Starting from a very warm welcome and those 2 adorable cats. We felt in love with the dorm, there are so many stuffs to do there ; lounge room filled with board games , books , and TV to surf. The kitchen is fully functioned if anyone wants to show their skills. Moreover, when I woke up in the morning and the smell of those freshly homemade pancakes are really the best. They were delicious!!! The staffs are really kind and they were so nice to us. I and my friends couldn't be more thankful of what they have done for us from the first until the last day of our stay. Do not underestimate this dormitory to be like your other bad experiences! It is SAFE , AFFORDABLE , CLEAN , and most of all THE STAFFS ARE GREAT !!! You will never regret it.

“superb place to stay!”
excellent pancake for your breakfast! We can find nice food within walking distance. Great staff that recommended us on nice place to visit. There is table tennis too which brought lots of fun to us! Definitely worth to stay during our road trip to Albany!

“Friendly, convenient hostel with all facility u need”
The environment is really nice and cozy in 1849 backpacker! I and my friend love it very much! Staffs were so welcoming and kind to us, patiently explained everything around Albany to us and gave us useful suggestions on our plan. Rooms and toilet are clean. Corridor and conman area are nice decorated in a style that travellers would definately love it! It even has a movie room to relax! It's a place fell like home!

“Great spot”
Free parking on site with it being in the centre of the town. However, if you’re a light sleeper, beware of the loud music playing non stop on a Saturday night. Wasn’t able to sleep properly until 5am
