“ビーチフロントプール付ビラ”
昼間は日差しが強いのでお部屋でゆっくり。部屋のTVでNetflixやYouTubeが見れます。夕方からプライベートプールで子どもと遊びながらサンセットを眺めるのが最高でした。3月は最低でも27℃くらいなので夜もプールOK。食事をプールサイドに運んでもらい、星空を眺め波音を聞きながらプールを楽しみました。バスタブは大きすぎてお湯を溜めるのは断念しましたが、シャワーは温かいお湯が安定して出て快適でした。朝食は五つ星ホテルとしては品数もお味も期待値 未満だったので、2日目の夜はホテルから Grab で5分くらいでいける Mai Jo へ。シーフードパスタやイカの詰め物などすごく美味しかったです。相対的に私は前半に3泊したSALINDA の方がよかったですが、夫とこどもは Ocean Bay の方が気に入っていました。どちらも五つ星ですが趣きが異なるのでそれぞれの良さがあると思います。

A definitely good choice for this hotel. We having good experiences with this hotel during stay, enjoy hotel atmosphere, morning buffet and the pool. The resort stands out with its idyllic, tropical atmosphere, offering a pleasant contrast to the artificial-looking hotel complexes in the area. Unfortunately, our stay did not meet our expectations of a 5-star hotel, particularly regarding service and staff quality. Service & Staff Even at check-in, a warm welcome was missing. Despite being offered a welcome drink, the reception felt impersonal and routine, with no introduction to the room. This impression continued throughout our stay: while staff would usually greet guests with a brief “Hello,” genuine friendliness or attentiveness was rarely felt. For example, at breakfast, communication was often limited to a curt “Your room number?” The staff’s English skills were inadequate, making even simple requests difficult, often requiring repetition before they were understood. Overall, the team appeared unmotivated and lacking enthusiasm for their work, which negatively impacted the hotel’s atmosphere. Room & Amenities • Noise Issues: Conversations in the hallway and the morning garden watering at 6 AM were clearly audible in the room. • Bathroom Problems: The open shower drained poorly, causing water to accumulate in the bathroom. The sink faucet was impractically placed, constantly wetting the wooden counter, which was already showing signs of deterioration. • Gym: Too small for the size of the resort. Equipment was outdated or broken, towels were missing, and no disinfectant was available. • Towel Shortage: Sometimes, only one towel per room was provided without any explanation or apology. No towels were available in the gym either—guests were instead directed to the pool to use beach towels. • Room Key Policy: Only one room key was issued per room, with the reasoning that security personnel could let guests in if needed—a questionable practice. Food & Beverage • Breakfast: The taste was acceptable but presented without care. It did not match the images shown on the hotel’s website. There was no orange juice, and the background music felt dull rather than inviting. Salt and pepper shakers were often missing—at one point, a staff member even took a pepper shaker from our table without asking. • Opening Hours: Breakfast ends at 10 AM. Extending it to 10:30 AM would be more convenient for guests. • Beach & Activities: Limited availability of lounge chairs and sports equipment (only one stand-up paddleboard and one kayak for the entire resort). • Restaurant Prices: Significantly higher than in surrounding restaurants, without offering a corresponding increase in quality. Other Issues • Power Outages: We experienced two power outages, each lasting about 30 minutes. • General Atmosphere: Due to the impersonal service and lack of staff attentiveness, the resort failed to create a relaxing vacation atmosphere. Conclusion The Grand Ocean Bay Resort has an impressive visual appeal but wastes much of its potential due to poor service and a lack of hospitality. To justify its 5-star rating, management urgently needs to invest in staff training and actively gather guest feedback. A simple solution would be to provide feedback forms in the rooms—unfortunately, none were available during our stay.

“Smoothest check in ever!”
The check in was super fast and smooth. The staff here are the friendliest have come across. So helpful and kind. Polite. The room was the "ocean breeze" and although not as "posh" as some of the other places I have stayed in Phú Quõc, it was a real pleasure to stay in. Quite small but quaint. The inside outside bathroom is out of this world with 1 piece solid stone bath which was actually very comfy to sit In. I would definitely visit again

“Not as good as described”
On paper it looks awesome but in comparison to other places we have stayed at and paid similar rates to it is just ok. We stayed at a Jungle Bungalow as that was the only available at the time of booking. This is set back from the beachfront but still close enough, no views. But we knew this. The bathroom - nice way to describe is rustic however it lacks privacy, be mindful that it is open to the elements but screened at areas where it needs or so you think. I mean if your neighbours are in their balcony at the time you are sitting on the toilet well they can hear everything. And if I can see them through the slats they can sure see me too!! So I tend to not have lights on at night so they can’t see in. The beach is generally good. Lovely clear and clean waters, however the staff is very slack with cleaning after guests such as clearing glasses and plates. And the worst is finding cigarette stubs that inconsiderate guests leave behind. Another to know is that other travellers from outside the resort come in and use the beach. Be mindful of this. And with that comes with rubbish. A kayaking accident happened when we were there, where it tipped over and person’s foot got stuck. Anyhow, a couple of hotel guests ran out to help, as the so called lifeguard was too busy giving out towels. Eventually he ran in to help. Afterwards, I spoke to one of men that helped. He said the lifeguard didn’t know how to swim!!! So the uniform is only for show!! Be mindful of this. The breakfast buffet is very good. Some of the staff are wonderful and some are a bit nonchalant. Will we return here, no. Will we return to Phu Quoc, I’m undecided.

The weather was very very cold in Hanoi and the room temperature was 14 and when I called them the hotel management refused to turn on the central heating claiming that it was connected to all the rooms on the floor which made us not sleep for two consecutive days, and I hold you and Agoda company responsible because you did not tell us about that even though it is a five-star hotel and thus I have begun to doubt your credibility in booking hotels with your company in the future

“Excellent and cool ”
I had a very good experience staying here. The hotel staff were great and friendly. They also very helpful. A lot of facilities and activies you can do here. For example, free yoga class, gym, archery and many place like swing to chill along the beach. The restaurant also very cool as you can having your dinner with sunset view and the food all good with the variety of choices. This hotel provide free hotel transfer/airport shuttle. Overall very nice and cool. Excellent and good job 👍🏻

“Lovely hotel with a super each and facilties”
First time we have stayed a this hotel since coming to the island. The hotel is situated in its own grounds and beach. Rooms are lovely and standard of cleanliness is first rate. Staff are very helpful Breakfast is again first rate Location of the beach is a few minutes walk to local villages with shops and restaurants. We will definately stay here again

Our room was at the newly built Grand Ocean Bay part of the resort and it is fabulous! The beach is pristine, the service is great, the breakfast is plentiful. Quiet location with a few lovely local restaurants around within walking distance and an easy grab ride to town. A great place to relax!

“Long beach, winding landscape and great hospitality”
Very pleasant staff and exceptional hospitality, went out of the way to make our stay memorable The long, almost private beach is clean and beautiful though very calm with hardly any waves the time we visited in december The presidential suite we stayed had breathtaking views of the beach and sweeping views of tropical landscaping A few things about room comfort though made it feel little less luxurious, the toilet was large and quirky with no separate wet and dry areas and the drains clogged including in the bath tub

“Met Expectations”
The locaiton is rather north west of the island. So it was convenient to look for Grab rides to the north and south town of the island. Staff was super friendly and helpful to every request we made. The breakfast buffet was amazing and offered wide varities. I was also taken aback by the upkeptness of the property. The facilities are all well maintained plus you get a private beach. 10/10 Would visit again.

“Peace in Phu Quoc”
Our stay at Ocean Bay Resort was magical. The place was like something out of a dream and the staff were incredibly helpful. It was a little out of the way, about 20 minute car ride from the main strip but honestly it didn’t bother us at all. It was quiet at night (minus the nature sounds) and by the end we really didn’t want to leave. If we ever come back to the island we’ll be staying here again.
