“dont get what was advertise”

what you pay is not what you get

“Covid19 Stay”

the standard was low, but it could have been because of Covid19 and lack of Guest. there was no DSTV I could not even watch news. loadsheding was the order of the day and we did not even get candles or solar lights.

“Very disappointing”

Booking confirmation was with breakfast included but were informed on arrival there will be no breakfast. We had to clean the microwave before using it. Very old linen and towels.

Basic hotel with very few staff. Breakfast that is included is very basic and served in an overcrowded dining area. We were given a room where the bath/shower didnt operate properly. We were also given a family room instead of the normal double room which we booked. You are unable to get into the hotel yourself as only the hotel staff are given a remote for the electric gate. No padestrian gate. There are other BnB's avaialble at a similar prices which offer better value.

I've booked for 2 nights but I had to cancel the second night. beds were old and the bedding is so thin we couldn't sleep due to the coldness. We had to wait 10 minutes before we could order our breakfast. Dissapointed

“Rusty water. Disgusting ”

The Russel is a fine budget hotel except for the disgusting water. I took a bath upon arrival it was the color of a light tea. I assume rust. Ok I thought not good but not harmful. Then at breakfast the hot water for the instant coffee being served was the same color. I can understand and accept problems. But no bottle water in the room to drink. Disgusting (was it rust) water for coffee. So I can’t recommend. I suspect the solution is expensive but that’s definitely needed.

Hotel is great value for money since I got 60%+ discount when booking but a few things need improvement: 1) The intercom at the motor gate is on the wall next to the gate. This means one has to climb out of your car to announce your arrival. 2) There are no info sheets in the room, so you have to phone reception on your cell to ask dialing code for room service, breakfast times & wifi key. None of this was told to us by receptionist upon arrival. 3) The light next to the bathroom in our room wasn't working. 4) The shower over bath is a messy business since the screen has not been properly installed. There are gaps where water sprays through and it is not high enough. 5) The beds are not comfy. Mattresses are hard. 6) Breakfast over 3 days had problems: 6.1) Receptionist takes orders while juggling her other duties. 6.2) Toast is cold when served. 6.3) Serviettes have to be asked for. 6.4) One day no glasses were put out for pouring cold beverages. Good things: 1) Great breakfasts.

We enjoyed our short stay and were pleasantly surprised at the good value for money. We had a lovely large, well-appointed room, were warmly welcomed, had safe parking and enjoyed an excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Got great value for money ”

Agoda gave a good deal that wasn’t even on offer at the hotel reception. Room was very convenient, clean, with microwave n fridge,plush carpet, condiments, complimentary water, AC, quiet area, safe parking. TV had a very snowy picture though. Found some bitting bugs in my bed which upset me but I reported that to staff next day - I hope it gets sorted! Breakfast was good! Happy overall, would come back.

Great stay! Breakfast was lovely. The staff was very nice. Only one wall air conditioner in the first room so second room was warm but it was also a very hot day. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Stayed there one night. Although the location is centralized, the hotel is fair at best. Not sure why the ratings of this hotel are so high.

Own gate remote and access door to rooms. Front desk gentleman was outstanding!! Breakfast variations had a little too much bacon (non-pork eaters) . Overall excellent!!

A good all rounder for a simple hotel, with decent breakfast and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff and central location with easy walk to town and waterfront.

Nice clean spacious room handy to town. Great breakfast. The wifi didn't work in the room. The TV was all snowy and hard to see. They changed our room, but nothing more annoying than travelling all day, unpacking, sitting down to relax and finding the TV doesn't work. Then having to repack and move grrrr. Things should be checked every day.

I loved this place. It's in a modest part of town vs. the swanky tourist area, but the hotel and room were spotless and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. The included breakfast was delicious. Best value for the money of any hotel I can remember staying in.

Nos hospedamos por 7 noites e foi tudo ótimo. O hotel tem excelente localização, é próximo do Waterfront e do centro da cidade. Nosso quarto teve um pequeno problema no ar quente, mas na mesma noite nos mudaram pra um ainda melhor. Quarto grande, bem equipado, com sacada e ótima vista. O staff é ótimo, assim como o café da manhã. Uma única ressalva é quanto ao wi-fi, o sinal era bom, mas caia com frequência. Num geral, adoramos nossa estadia e recomendamos com certeza.

“Clean and friendly place to stay in a central part of the town”

Perfect for our needs. The room was clean and well equipped with fridge, kettle and coffee station. Microwave working. Plenty of safe parking. The breakfast options were perfect and they had no problem preparing poached eggs which is actually remarkable as most places find this a challenge :) Totally recommended as a value for money option in a central town setting.
