“This is not a hotel. ”
The room is okay with nice view. The structure is pretty old but renovated, so it looks alright but actually so much noises from the canals, which is still acceptable because the price is reasonable. But, Foreign travelers must not choose. I went to check in at 5 pm and the receptionist couldn't find the reservation. I found it later and arranged a room. There was no water, slippers, or toothbrush in the room. I tried calling the front desk to check, but no one answered. I also called the hotel hotline but no one answered. Finally I went to the front desk, and there was no one there. I went back in 15 minutes, and a man who didn't understand English asked me to come back tomorrow, but I had checked out tomorrow. In addition, it is not recommended for women to stay. The room does not have an anti-theft lock.

Good location easily access by bus. Super nice and wide open sea view. Quiet place but nice restaurants around. Friendly staff. Old building but modern design

“My Favourite place to stay”
Best Hostel I ever stayed in HK and I always stay there when in HK, friendly, close to bus stop, near the abedeen fish market , the only thing it's far from main city like Tsim tsai tsui, or Kowloon, but still you have access to busses, they a have a nice and clean TV room with Netflix's

“ Best hotel in Hong Kong!”
Ovolo southside (I was upgraded to mini twin there becoz mojo nomad was under renovation in late 2020 for quarantine purpose) staff at Ovolo are superb! They will make you feel home & make sure that you got everything u need: from charger ... once I bought a meal box at Komune and a staff asked if I need a glass of tap water & made me feel comfortable (seated, which means extra work for them at this covid season) while I waited inside the eatery. Appreciated a lot for their kindness! Staff at reception are extra kind & helpful too. Overall I am very impressed with the positive energy with Ovolo & I wish them all the best!!! 😊😊

“Mojo nomad to Ovolo southside”
I was originally booking mojo nomad by Ovolo, but due to the pandemic, it was under renovation & I am upgraded to Ovolo southside. I was accommodated once at the mountain side of the hotel which has a fantastic view to ocean park & mountain + sea view. The deco of Ovolo southside is quite special. Have been enjoying the seating out area for a drink or chill. I also like the vegan menu at Ovolo, very good for breakfast n lunch (I didn’t try their dinner tho) Overall very satisfied with my stay at Ovolo.

“Nice Staycation ”
My booking had been upgraded to another sister hotel Ovolo Southside as the COVID-19 stroked this Mojo Nomad. I appreciated the hotel flexibly arrange our bookings to let us having a wonderful holiday at Aberdeen. The temporary furniture and stylish decoration could steal our photo film. We had added $ for nibbles and breakfast. They weren't what we expected. Maybe u could save $ for other restaurants around. The free mini bar was a plus point. Recommended!!!! free drink and snack. The handsome receptionist had tried his best to arrange a room that was closed to my special request. Finally, we got a very nice room. The view has the Ocean Park logo. I definitely recommend you to stay in the Ovolo hotel. People are friendly, room and bed are excellent. You won't regret.

“1-day staycation with a little surprise”
Since we can't travel abroad under COVID, we decided to book this one as a 1-day staycation. One day before our arrival, we received a surprise that Ovolo was going to move us to another property, Ovolo Southside, which was I believe 1-star above the original one. The room was great with free minibar. Staff was friendly. Room was nicely made. Can't complain at all. Would reconsider for future.

“Business Trip”
As of now everytime I go to HK I stay at this place I love because of the cleaning Ness, and how friendly the staff and facilities are, ,the good about the place is that you feel at home, with alot of options from laundry,self cooking, and close to everything within Aberdeen. Just far from Matt station but buses are always there, and they stop right in front of the hostel. You also have McDonald's and Dim Sum restaurant just downstairs from the building, I had to book extra days to stay and showed them the Agoda cost, yet they best Agoda by giving me a good and better deal. The bed sheets and other are constantly being changed, MoJO is the place for you that are solo travellers or want to stay for a long period in HK.

“What's an "upscale" hostel?”
It's a hostel. It's new and shiny, but it's a hostel. The 8 person mixed dorm room was 3/4 full, with most of the other residents pretty much moved in. They had plastic shelving and elaborate set ups and had clearly moved in weeks or months ago. That really impinged on the space that was supposed to be for me. And it's a shared room, so when one old guy snores so loud you can hear it through your earplugs AND your noise canceling headphones, it's going to be a rough night. But it's super clean. The bathrooms are spacious. The common areas are nice and comfortable. The coffee was good and they have local microbrews available. I'm not sure if I would stay again. It's a great value, but if you get unlucky (like I did) with a super loud traveler in your room, it's not good.

You're free to stay as long or as short as you'd like and we even offer special rates for those who are looking to stay on a monthly or yearly bases. “Will definitely stay here again in the future”
Everything was great! Contemporary interiors for both the room and common area, numerous USB charging and power outlets, TV and mini fridge, large windows with black out blinds, spacious bathroom with decent shampoo/conditioner/body wash provided, free light breakfast, very friendly staff. Although we wish there are rooms with 2 twin beds that don’t face the cemetery, but not a huge issue for us with the blinds down.

“8-bed dorm - good value”
Again, staying in a dorm is a matter of luck, whether the roommates are considerate. The hostel itself was great, but I can’t get a good sleep.

“If you like to stay away from crowd , choose this ! ”
The sea view room is nice for the sunset and good view ! A tiny room but new which makes things better . The staff add colours during my trip as they’re nice , they have prepared little candy treats for guest during Halloween . Very reasonable price with good quality.

“Review for Deluxe Queen instead of Triple Room”
I’ve booked the triple room (with no cancellation) intending for a friend and myself, and it happened to be a few dollars cheaper than the twin room at the time of booking. However my friend ended up cancelling her trip last minute due to the political events in Hong Kong... I mentioned the situation to the Front Desk in hope to get partial refund or change room type (the 3-bed dorm was great enough for me!). While they couldn’t offer a refund as per Agoda policies, they gave me the deluxe queen room with harbour view instead! I was a bit upset that my friend couldn’t make it and I’d have to kill time myself, but the deluxe queen room was such a delight. It came with a queen bed, TV, mini fridge, hot water kettle with coffee/tea packets, and body towels (this wasn’t offered in dorm type rooms). This was the treat for my stay in Hong Kong - I transferred from 8 bed dorm to 3 bed dorm, then got upgraded to the queen room.

“Spacious yet affordable dorm with beautiful bathrooms”
The 3 bed female dorm was amazing, especially I moved from the 8 bed dorm. There was a mini fridge in the room, some flat surfaces to put our stuff, and plenty of room to lay out large luggage for each of us. The first 2 nights I stayed in a room with beautiful view to the harbour, but 1 roommate was coughing so I asked the Front Desk to place me into another room. Unfortunately this time the room had a view to the cemetery, but it was fine as the curtains were down most of the time and I was really there only for shower and sleeping. Also I think my Agoda booking wasn’t supposed to come with free breakfast, but they offered me the coffee/tea and local pastry (pineapple or coconut bun) regardless. Can’t really complain!

“Little luxuries on a budget solo travel”
Despite I only stayed in this 8-bed female dorm for 1 night (I booked other room types for the rest of my trip), it was a great experience. This is like a hotel grade shared living space. There are 2 super nice bathrooms for 8 people on 4 bunk beds, and each of us get our own locker and bedside USB/power outlet plus reading lamp. I wished there are more floor space for opening luggage and additional hanging hooks in the room, but it is a dorm so it was expected. Kitchen/dining and large sitting areas are located on separate levels - both are pretty clean!

“A family trip”
A great place for family trip staying. Nearby variety of foodstuff, you can also get a raw and prepared yourself in their open kitchen, easy to get the transportation. A good air compared to the Kowloon.

“Great for budget minded students, but not so much for families or couples”
I've stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and have always had good experiences, but not so much this time. Gone are the free breakfasts and happy hours. This place caters to the back packing crowd and has gone downhill for the ordinary traveler, who seeks some amenities and comforts. The rooms need updating and maintenance. Our air conditioner didn't work in our room and it was stifling in there....they changed our room, only to find the second room had the very same problem. Many of the rooms are dorms now instead of individual rooms, and the atmosphere is that of a college dormitory. The location remains good, being very near to bus stops. There is a McDonald's and Circkle K convenience store across the street from the hotel, which is nice. All in all, this place is great for young people on a travel budget who don't mind sacrificing comforts for a good price, but lacks normal hotel amenities for the solo traveler or a family or couple. Bottom line.....bare bones ame

“Best shared room hotel I've been”
Place is very new, nice room, good facilities, good view, big bathroom. A must pick for solo travelers.

“Great value hotel; curt staff”
For Hong Kong, this hotel offers superb value for money. My friend and I booked a private twin room at considerably less than we would have paid on the north of the island. Moreover, when we arrived we found it spacious (again, for Hong Kong), and decorated tastefully with superb views of the Victorian graveyard and onto the harbour. Furthermore, the hotel is well-situated: close to convenience shops and restaurants (try the dimsum place on the corner of the next block). While it can take up to an hour to get to the popular tourist spots such as Wan Chai and Kowloon, there are frequent buses. The location is also noticeably less bustling, and offers great access via ferry to the outlying islands. My only grumble would be with the staff. While efficient, different staff members were abrupt on a few occasions. As an example, when my friend went down to reception to request a hair dryer, she was brusquely told, "We don't have one, and there should be one in the room anyway." (There was not, hence her going to ask for one.) All in all, though, we had a pleasant stay, and I would recommend this hotel to budget travellers in an expensive city.

Also, we are located in the Southern part of Hong Kong where its away but not too far away from the city center. Which is great if you're looking to relax and unwind. “Loved it!”
One of the best hostels I’ve ever been. Killer view, super clean, comfortable bed, nice staff, well equipped, excellent large lounge area with lots of seating. Room is spacious with lots of power points and lamp for every bed. I love the location because it’s close enough to all the action but far enough that you’re not in tourist central. The subway is not close by but lots of buses are including the airport bus which drops you off right across the street. Lots of eateries in the neighborhood. This is my go-to hostel in Hong Kong now after trying MANY hostels in HK.

“ALL perfect!!”
i would say this place is really perfect! we booked a room for 2 and the view was really beautiful at night..(their shampoo and soap was really good! smell so nice!! love that !) i would reccomend you if you want a quite place to stay and enjoy.. but if you are concern with location.. its near from bus stop, but its very far , we have to sit in the bus for about 1 hour to the peak and tsim sa sui.. and surprisingly if you stay at their hostel, its really clean and good too.. they have a pantry, so you can cook and eat.. its really fun place to stay for young people.. fun of art and nice place to have a new friends

Agoda.com discount didn't show up properly, so total amount showing was inaccurate. The hostel, depends on the worker at the time of check-in, may not be willing to make correction that can cause problem for customer. If the worker at the hostel is willing to correct the total amount to include all discounts, then it may be worth the long distance travel to this hostel, and the extra money spends to get to major attractions in Hongkong that are not in the area where this hostel is.
