quiet hotel and the staffs are very professional
Everyone who wants to relax should visit Hilton Helsinki Finland
Great hotel just a short walk from many attractions and shopping. Fantastic breakfast and serves a very popular cheap lunch buffet
Room was big and bed super comfortable. Bathroom was very clean and bathtub was huge. Very comfortable bed. Scenic location near tram stop but have to walk 5min. Sauna and pool facilities were excellent. Staff were very helpful.
There have been numerous hotels opened in Helsinki over the passed few years and we have stayed in a few of them. An attractive room offer brought us back to Hilton Helsinki Strand and we wish we would have stayed there all the time. We have had some odd experiences at some of the newer places - somewhat snooty and in one case definitely ageist - and I am not even 60 years old yet! Hilton Helsinki Strand is friendly to families, well liked by business travellers and can cater for larger groups as well. Some may say that its position is less amenable but as the Hakaniemi district is brought through the curve in terms of cafes and places to go I would say that being a couple of metres off the beaten track is an advantage. Well done HHS, we would hope to stay again!
Staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was in a great location. Looking forward to our next trip to Helsinki and our stay at the Hilton Strand.
The location of hotel is good, just within 10 minutes waling distance from the central train station. The view from the room is spectacular. We were upgraded to the Executive Suite. Very nice. The breakfast buffet is very good and we set our alarm on 1 Jan just to be able to have the breakfast. There is a sauna room but we did not try it out. I think the opening hours of the sauna rooms can be longer.
We stayed here in July 2018. Property is ok, clean room but starting to get a bit tired and probably needs a refurb. Staff were a bit slow, but ultimately helpful enough. Location isn't bad, maybe a 20 minute walk into the city alongside a park.
Very unpleasant stay. Absolutely not worth for what I paid.
The view (if you are able to get one facing the sea) is great. Overall, I had a comfortable stay but felt that some aspects fell short of expectations. For e. g. toothbrush/paste is not provided and has to be specially requested. Coffee/tea bags were not replaced.
nice room and service
Value for money, nice location, less facilities, very good breakfast!!
Nice spacious room. Easy tram ride to town
The hotel is under heavy construction and renovation. I do not understand, why they are still selling out rooms. After all, staying there is not a pleasure at all. The whole lobby area is under heavy renovation, a lot of dust and a lot of nose. Breakfast is very poor. I usually stay away from the Hilton hotels, since they charge you for every small thing an extra. You want water view (nothing special) an extra 20 Euros, internet in the rooms, extra 10 Euros and so on. Gave it a try and now it proofed my point and I will stay away again. They were decent to give us a 20 Euros discount for a room with a water view, since the air-condition did not functioned in the other room.
hotel is alrd old but still nice. i love the breakfast
We had a great time in Helsinki and Hilton played a major role. Hotel is an easy walk to everywhere and we literally walked around the city. Yet we are almost surrounded by nature that keeps the city noise out !
It was under renovation so it was a bit noisy when we stay there
The location is quite good although it is now near train station (you have to go by tram about 3 stop to arrive hotel). The environment in the hotel is very clean, the staff is helpful. Our room have a river view, it is quite comfort and quiet.
Hotel is under renovation, so a lot of facilities are just close. Deco is very old and rooms are not modern.
I was given a room with a good view lookingover the lake. Superb! As I witnessed the lake freeze up over the night. Helsinki is small relatively so location was useful due to proximity to supermarket and tram stop. Staff were nice and courteous. Only thing missing was FOC wifi.
We enjoyed our 3 nights stay at Hilton Helsinki Strand. The hotel is a bit old but still a charming great hotel. It was my first stay in a room with heated floor bathroom and I've been travelling extensively in the past 12 years, but maybe it was my first stay in northern Europe. The breakfast was excellent with plenty quality foods and enough table and chairs to cater the hotel guests, staff were excellent ready to serve you. The reception staff were very good, particularly one young trainee who gave us late check out till 4pm after requesting it to her supervisor. Location is excellent close to shopping center, market and boat/ferry terminal (20 to 30 mins walking).
Everything is good but the price not including wifi at room you only can use the wifi at lobby or pay extra. Almost everywhere have public free wifi it should including in the price.
Excellent!
Very good! We had a nice stay!
There should be free wifi in the room.
The facility seems somewhat old, though well-maintained
Strand is just like any other good hotel in Helsinki - they all seem to be pretty much the same. Despite the fact that Strand has the reputation of being one of the very best, it doesn't really stand out of the crowd. Don't take me wrong - Strand is still a very good hotel and I will be happy to stay there again! But not if the price is considerably higher than others'. Having said that, I must commend the staff for being able to allocate us a room already at 8 am although the official check-in time is only 2 pm. Also, the breakfast area is very pleasant, and I really enjoyed having a lazy Saturday morning breakfast there although the breakfast itself was not any different from any other major hotel in Helsinki - maybe even below that. I also enjoyed the sauna and the swimming pool, and the view from the swimming pool balcony is really nice.
This was the number 1 hotel 15-20-25 years ago as it used to be in the Intercontinental chain with fantastic service. However time has passed and the Hilton standards maybe fit this place but I would rate this with 3-4 stars. But the architecture is nice and reminds of those days in 1980´s. I had a summer offer so the room cost me 90 Euros and had a nice top floor room facing the sea with a balcony. However the wifi was not free at this rate which sounds most greedy these days. I would not pay the normal rate of over 200 Euros if I needed to come back here. There are better options nearby.
I was very pleased with this hotel. The location is terrific; a very short walk to public transportation both the trams and the Metro and also within walking distance of the main train station and tourist attractions. The buffet breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool was clean and refreshing. I highly recommend this hotel.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Helsinki Strand. Check in was 2pm but when we arrived at 8am and asked to leave our bags, we were immediately given a room with an upgrade. Our room was very stylish and had everything you require for complete comfort. Front desk staff gave above and beyond service and always with a smile. Breakfast was absolutely beautiful and the staff exceptional. We would definitely stay again and recommend this Hotel very highly. Excellent quality for money.
A pretty nice hotel with good staff located just a bit out of downtown but a 10 minutes walk to Helsinki central station. It's a great place to discover downtown and enjoy a nice view over the lake and park in a more peaceful but safe and clean area of the city. Nice breakfast, nice staff and very large room with good amenities
the room is so badly renovated. The bathroom looks like it has not been renovated for at least 20 years. There was no place to charge my phone and connect my laptop, I have to unplug lamps in the room to get place to plug.
The staff here need to be congratulated on the exceptional service that they provided. Samuel and the lady that was working with him at the time of check in could not have been more helpful. They were both wonderful. I was given a free upgrade which I was grateful for and I regardless of the upgrade, my review would have been the same due to the outstanding level of customer service. The hotel is in a great location and the room was clean and large.
The stay was pleasant and we were very satisfy with performance of the staffs as well as the hotel location.
We stayed at Hilton Strand for 2 nights as our stopover to Switzerland.. and were very satisfied with our stay there. Transportation is very convenient and lots of shopping centres just within walking distance. The hotel is just next to a river which is quite a pleasure to talk a slow walk with. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Enjoyable and nice hotel in good location to transport dining and sight seeing
It was very nice stay. I would recommend this to anyone. Especially the premier lounge access is something one should get. Hotel location is ok, not the best not the worst. It is good frmo the airport, thought. Good for business and ok for sightseen as it is definately close to the center with short 5 min buss trip, metro or tram.
We had a very good stay at the Hilton Helsinki Strand. Indeed, we felt lucky that the conference organizer chose this hotel. It was conveniently located, within walking distance to almost all tourist attractions, including the farmer's market.
Wonderful stay at the hilton, lovely area to walk around with river views both sides of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, great english. Overall very happy with our stay here.
It's located in central city near the sea. You can enjoy the city as well as the sea view. Central station is also very close. The design of the building, interior, and furniture seems quite classic and authentic.
