We loved our stay at Lost Bayou. The house is beautiful and clean. A few blocks from the beach and many restaurants. Barbara and Dave were awesome hosts and gave so much information about the area. We will definitely stay again if we make it back to the area.

This place is beautiful, clean, and super close to the beach! David is a wonderful host and an excellent cook. We really enjoying staying here.

I missed the note that there was no kids under 10 allowed in this B&B. I was offered no refund or partial refund after my 4 1/2 hour drive. The front desk lady was VERY RUDE and even followed me out to my car showing me how there was a note for NO KIDS UNDER 10 YEARS OLD. I could forgive this mistake, except, the front desk lady said, "if you can figure out something to do with the kids then the two adults can stay". Like... what? What am I suppose to do with the kids? Leave them on the beach? If you're looking for a family friendly B&B this is not the place. The room I reserved was on the 3rd floor with no elevator (not convenient for an elderly or handicapped person). I would not recommend only because the front lady was so rude. I stayed at the Comfort Inn in Texas City and had the best time with the kids. I highly recommend the Texas City Comfort Inn!!! Also, there was limited parking - had to park on the street and was surrounded by residential housing. I am not sure if this is a safe area for the surrounding houses seemed poorer than other parts of the island.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. I want to sincerely apologize if you found me rude, it was not my intent. I was taken back when you arrived with your daughter and two children. Your reservation was for 2, not 4. If you had indicated 2 adults and 2 children through the OTA (Agoda) you would have been prompted for their ages and would have found no rooms available. There were several opportunities to inform us of 2 additional quests, when Agoda confirmed and when my personal confirmation was sent. Our home is an older one (Built in 1890) and you are correct that the room you reserved with 2 queen beds is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. The stairs can be a bit steep to the 3rd floor and not child friendly. After you left I called Agoda and after much discussion I did agree to a 50% cancellation fee. Yet, I didn't hear back from them or you. In regards to parking, some of our guests choose to park on the street, though we do have off street pa

Barb and Dave were terrific hosts and made sure we enjoyed our stay. There were homemade cookies when we arrived in our room and a great hospitality area. We felt comfortable and welcome the entire stay and met some wonderful people. We plan to return again!

Barbara and Dave were excellent hosts. Delicious breakfast. Clean and comfortable accommodations in a historic home. Reasonable rates. Would definitely recommend.
