Great value for a quality double room. It’s in great condition given that it was old enough to have been used by Bonnie Prince Charlie (added charm for an Outlander fan like me).

I liked this hotel, it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good as well. Only downside was the old creaky floors, so you could hear people in other rooms late at night or early in the morning. But I suppose you have to expect that in a hotel of that age. I would recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, right in the centre of Perth. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food amazing in the restaurant and plenty to do around the area. Thank you to Monika, Katy and Nicola who work hard at the hotel to keep things ticking over. The head of housekeeping, a lovely lady. Train station nearby. Thank you Kerrina and Tony Nicholls

The location was great—right in the town area and close to my friend’s house in Perth, which was super convenient. However, the reception experience was a bit awkward; I was greeted in a way that made me feel like an alien, which was uncomfortable. Aside from that, everything else was okay.

Just a quick overnight stay ,staff friendly and helpful, quite a busy hotel being a Saturday night quite lively. Definitely value for money had everything you would need in abundance, certainly would use again. I would however book direct as have had some issues with the agoda app. I had to double book as agoda sent confusing emails over confirmation and one booking did not appear on the app, then it was impossible to make changes as it was deemed a third party booking. This cost me money and gave me a great deal of stress. So yes great hotel ,agoda terrible app and service. Lesson is book direct.

Lovely hotel and staff couldn't do enough for me and my doggie. Any problems and they are quick to help. Beware of the creaky floors which are okay as long as you get considerate neighbours beside you and above. Unfortunately the neighbours above me constantly walked around till 530 in the morning which resulted in a lack of sleep. A lot of bus tours are based here which can leave early in the mornings and they are noisy, often putting TV's on loudly even when requested not to on arrival, waking you up. Hotel staff and food are brilliant.

Love the hotel but how long can it go on. Obviously the old lady creaks due to age. Brilliant breakfast and staff there. Windows are crumbling though. What next for her? Great location though

I just had an overnight stay here to break my journey. Front desk staff and the guys in the bar were really pleasant. The room exceeded my expectations in cleanliness and size and the bed was comfy. There was a good choice at breakfast. The hotel is close to the shops and museum, and if staying in Perth again, I would choose the Salutation again.

Lovely old hotel, bedroom a wee bit dated could do wit a bit of a make over but adequate for an overnighted. Young lady on reception was so very welcoming and helpful really appreciate that. We will be back had a great night at the concert hall and a found a great wee pub “Half a tanner”.

After heading north a few days early heading home, we came across this hotel and were very pleasantly surprised. Staff were welcoming and the room and hotel was lovely, and was cheaper than our usual option. I would strongly suggest staying here to anyone that is looking for a somewhere to stay.

Its just another dingy hotel. The standard of the room was poor and they need to take everything out and hover under stuff because it is filthy. Its like poor staff accommodation really. Im trying to be as honest as possible to help them improve.

“Lovely staff but room smelled awful”
Most parts of the hotel looked lovely and staff were very kind. However the room smelled of stale urine and a moth flew into the toilet bowl when I was using it. Room might need a wee freshen up!
