While the location was excellent, and the parking was free, unable to eat dinner at 7.30pm as cook closed early. Bed comfy .... aged premises and tired rooms.

The place costs as much as a luxury resort with swimming pool, massages and buffet in southeast Asia, but it is nowhere near the same standard. Place is cramped and a bit dirty, and rooms are small. Good layer of dust in corners and inside cabinets. Building feels like it's about to collapse and shakes every time a large vehicle drives by. This even caused one of the fire safety signs inside the room to detach and fall on the floor. The electric water heater randomly trips the circuit breaker for the entire floor when showering, which may leave you covered in soap and having to improvise a rinse with water from the sink. In the morning, no staff is there to help restore the electricity supply. If you still decide to stay there, make sure to tell them in advance what time you are arriving, since it otherwise closes at a random time which might be early.

Advantage was easy walking distance into town (12 mins) and up to Oxford Brookes Uni (18 mins) and complimentary car parking at rear of pub. Clean room, shower hot and good pressure once we'd corrected shower head setting. Little unusual to discover that the pub was shut by 9.30pm but advantage was that there was no pub noise to bother us

“Wanna visit again”
The rooms are above the traditional pub, but it was never noisy. The room was nice and we can enter the room from the back door without going through the pub easily. Of course, can enter through the pub. From the station taxi or the bus (a lot access) are available in a few minutes. Of course we can walk there enjoying the christ church, trinity college and the city centre. I love the atmosphere of Oxford so I’d love to visit Oxford and stay at Black Horse again.
