Location is in a beautiful village on the edge of the Cotswolds and near Stratford upon Avon. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There’s a great Indian restaurant on the premises. Unfortunately the room let our stay down, the bed was on a slope due to the gradient of the floor, I know this is due to the age of the property but I’m sure something could be done to rectify this, the headboard creaked every time you moved so disturbing my partner’s sleep. The shower could have been cleaner and the height adjuster wouldn’t let you keep the shower head up. Some lightbulbs weren’t working and there was a broken socket, lastly you couldn’t fill the kettle in the room due to the size of the sink so you were given a bottle of water. These things could be easily rectified to make your stay more pleasant, the place could do with a makeover but I would stay again due to the location and the staff.

We absolutely loved it here! Staff were so so lovely. Massively went out of their way for us. Rooms were lovely and clean. Will definitely stay again

Super quirky pub/hotel Staff were so so helpful! Massively went out of their way for us! Room was cute and clean. Breakfast was lovely! 5 stars!

“Old style pub”
We stayed for 3 nights as we were attending an event in the area. The good bits... The welcome was warm and the location superb, right on the village green with thatched cottages in view and a wonderful old church just over the road. You are not far from Stratford on Avon and other interesting places right on the edge of the Cotswolds so plenty of scope for exploring. The not so good bits... The toilet in our room was wobbly, the hot tap needed a new washer and was running all the time, the bed creaked whenever you moved at all (though it was comfortable), the stairs were a bit dodgy. I appreciate that it is an old building but it wouldn't have taken much to make them feel a bit safer and the bed just needed some screws tightening. The smell of Indian cooking was quite overpowering as the restaurant was attached to the Inn so we had to keep the bedroom window closed which made the room warm - though there was a fan provided. The bathroom window was to the front overlooking the village green and directly above the bar so there was a bit of noise though I did know to expect some noise disruption. I wasn't expecting karaoke to be blaring away on the Saturday night though until after 11pm. The breakfast was alright with fresh fruit and yoghurt on offer which was good, aswell as cereal to startwith. You could then have a cooked breakfast if you wanted to, which we did. The only thing wrong with that was that the sausages on the first morning were rock hard and I couldn't even cut it never mind eat it, though my husband persevered and managed to get them down. The other mornings were fine and they were good chunky sausages. Overall, it was fine for what we paid and the location was great, as were the staff but we are unlikely to return.
