I was very shocked when the guy on the counter asked for a (driving license )take them for 10 minutes photocopying and then came back and asked for both of are (BANK CARD DETAILS TO COPY THEM ) has to be copied and photographed and then when the next customer came in he told us to forget about it and give us a room key very strange SCAMMERS AT WORK in this hotel stayed a few time and never seen the guy before definitely want be stopping again 100%

Hotel location is good and staff are fine but the condition of the hotel is pretty poor. Everything we came across was outdated, falling apart and in pretty poor condition. Also car park was full (weirdly as hotel didn't appear to be) so that was a little annoying. We didn't pay a lot for the room thankfully so all is not lost but would try to avoid it again in future unless stuck.

The only thing saving this hotel are the staff. They are friendly and helpful. Otherwise it’s a rip off... I think I got fleas ... have bite marks on my feet.... the mattress as so bad... and they are cheap to buy .... bath handles had rust marks on... staff cleaned my room and left dirt marks on the sink ...... won’t stay here again ....

Had a lovely stay there for 2 weeks enjoyed every min of it with my dog met my boyfriend here too defo coming back with him soon Staff and everyone friendly lovely area too Bit annoyed about the boys smoking in stairway alarm going off at 3am all had to avacuate the building

Stayed last week for business. Very noisy, a family arrived at 11:45pm with their dog and crying baby next door and woke me up so not ideal for an early business meeting - seems they use the hotel for social housing needs. Ordered room service was terrible and binned straight away. Would not stay again

Set in Woodland, but still handy for transport links, the Epping Forest hotel is well placed for our purpose of local house-hunting. The facilities are still constrained by Covid, but the staff (especially Stephanie) could not have been more helpful. This was our third stay, and we will certainly be back!

I was almost refused my right to check in because of my age. The legal age to book a hotel is 18 according to government guidelines but they said it was 21. I am 19 and would have been sent away if I did not find the evidence to support my claim. If the hotel wants people only the age of 21 and over to stay or book rooms they should clearly state that on the website but they don’t. I was also told that I haven’t paid and was almost charged again when I had paid in advance. There were a few strange stains and marks on the walls and I never used the shower because the drain and shower head were rusty. I was meant to stay the night but I left the same day I arrived. The facilities are few and I expected much more.

Really upset with the cleanliness of the place, first room I was given the bathroom was dirty, previous person bathed and shaved left dirty marks all over the bath and shaved hair in bath, complained next room given was the same, no cleaners were on site, which they should have been essential! Was told there were also no chef on site, which I paid extra just to have breakfast, instead was given a croissant and 2 small muffins with a kiddies orange juice box. Will be taking it further to get some money refunded. Waited an extra 40 minutes while he went and checked another 3 rooms. Got in the room after an hour of waiting! Will not be going back. Curtains and windows were also dusty and had cobwebs.

The staff were helpful and courteous and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a little disappointing as the bacon was too hard to eat. The seating at the table was too deep, more of a relaxing chair. The whole place looked a little tired and could do with a lick of paint, especially the kitchen door which looked filthy on the kitchen side when it was swung open.

There is lots to recommend this hotel but in general it has an overall shabbiness, not bad but not good. Whoever picked the carpets, go to Specsavers.

“A week in hell!! Avoid!!”
AVOID!! Worst place I have ever stayed. It’s grim with a very strange atmosphere. The bed was rock solid with a million springs, I requested a room with air conditioning and was indeed moved to a room that had an air con unit...that did not work!! There was a horrible smell throughout the corridors and in the room plus other guests smoking illicit substances. There were drunk people each day either stood outside or in the reception area. Would never stay again. AVOID!!
