The rooms are in a courtyard behind a pub full of drunk stoned individuals. The courtyard was full of rubbish and people smoking from the pub. The room itself was freezing cold but looked clean. There was a seventies tv on the wall. It cost £100 a night which is absurd. We left and did not stay the night We ended up not staying the night!!

Room clean but strong smell of damp. Cheap, ugly furniture. LOTS of laminated lists of rules everywhere.

Very un helpfull we were assured by phone that we would receive a full breakfast ,when we got there no such breakfast as owners were called away for the night they had my phone number so could have been contacted we were told we could get breakfast in town ,there was no where open,we stayed in a filthy court yard at back of pub next to beer barrels and gas canisters the beer garden / yard was out side our door and metal seats to sit on with a car in the yard,awake by 3 am to get the bin lorry in the yard , we did receive a breakfast but no apology or some kind of compensation for the 2 nights bed and breakfast that was clearly on our booking form from Agoda,won’t use Agoda again or stay at this Hotel again disgusted the way we were treated.

Lovely and clean and friendly staff. Make sure you check though if you are going to get your breakfast. We paid for ours but due to lack of staff they wasn't any on.

We stayed at the royal oak because it was central to our aim of visiting 19 local pubs, which we just managed to complete with last orders in the royal oak. Room was in an outbuilding in the beer garden and had everything we seeded for a nights stay.
