it would be unfair to complain when we were there it was a very cold snap the room was warm but the restaurant was very cold i understand the heating was not working overall i would recommend the alona.

Stayed for 1 night very disappointed I reserved a superior double room we got a twin double with no heating as radiator broken we finally got right room but radiator would not turn down room was to hot for sleeping carpet was wet beside window very outdated room restuarant was rather cold and food was average breakfast Buffett was warm nog hot and basically overcooked This hotel should be a 3 star not 4 would never stay there again defo no value for money

A friend & I stayed the night and had dinner the evening before. Food was delicious & service very good. Comfy beds, room was toasty, nice big walk-in shower which was ok, could have been warmer & more powerful, but was fine. Good hearty breakfast. Easy checkout, just put key card in basket and left. Only 10mins away from Doubletree Hilton where our event was held but double the price to stay the night. Excellent value! 🌟

Excellent hotel. Large comfortable bed and delicious breakfast. The only drawback was that there was a large ,very loud and I repeat very loud Caribbean wedding in the marquee next door with thudding beat music until 1pm. If you are thing of booking this hotel phone reception to see if any event is scheduled for the marquee. If there is book elsewhere.

We stay for 1 night. The room was spacious and clean. I notice that no fridge in the room if you stay longer you might prefer it. Not bother me because they had bar and restaurant. Breakfast was good.

Something that really annoys me is quality ingredients I run a food business and the difference between a good pack of sausages or black pudding or square sausage from the wholesalers is as little as £3 for a catering pack. Surely someone can see how such a small cost can make the difference between a good breakfast and one you never want to eat again. Staff exceptional really helpful and place was lovely and clean get someone who buys the food with tastebuds 😊

Had a very brief stay at the Alona Hotel which was perfectly situated just off the motorway and was easy to find. I rang ahead to inform them of a late check in. The staff member, Gary was extremely helpful and friendly and was still on reception when I arrived. I had been upgraded to a bigger room which was a lovely surprise and vest much appreciated. The breakfast was outstanding, good quality local produce, plenty of selection, piping hot. Staff were all friendly, helpful and welcoming. Would love to stay here again. Thank you for looking after me

We booked this last minute, we were upgraded as a wedding was on, it was very quiet at night, comfortable bed and a very tasty breakfast with good quality food. Thanks to the manager for upgrading us. Jill and Michael

Firstly the positives, the staff are extemely good, best greeting at any hotel, on checking in. Secondly the food I had (bar type) was also quite good although I had to miss breakfast as service only started at 7am (needing to get into Glasgow early this did not seem to me to be in line with most hotels with business customers). However, I did not sleep well due to the noisiest heating I have encountered in a hotel. In addtion the TV (somewhat bizarely mounted over the corner of a wall picture) did not work properly and there were no plugs near the bed to plug in my phone so that I could reach it. The decor is also somewhat dated although the price relected this and the whole place felt as if it was becoming a little past its sell by date. The whole neon light thing was also a bit incongruous with the actual interior and rooms. Shame as it would be a most useful place to stay and as I say the staff deserve much praise for their efforts.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and a generous size and had all the facilities in working order. The breakfast buffet was very good. Great location.

Brilliant overnight stay at the Alona, Hamilton . Room was large, comfy and cozy. 24 hour room service - food fresh and delicious. Gary on the Front Desk made me feel welcome and confident in staying myself.

This could be a beautiful vibrant hotel however it feels tired and unloved. Given Covid and the current staffing issues in the UK I am putting it down to that but a few little touches around the place like paint work wires hanging out of boxes etc. Also it was lovely weather but the outside seating was covered over and not in use? Management could do a lot with this place to bring it back to life but feels lacklustre and unloved. Room was nice though but more attention to detail is very much required.

Downstairs room so it was impossible to open the window and a bit hot. Otherwise lovely room. Couldn’t get dinner after 8. And although we confirmed a late checkout we received a call at 11.20 asking if we were extending our stay. The reception staff were lovely.

“Alona Stay”
Property dated and location at lake front next to m&ds, great for kids day out. Room roller blind and curtains stained and damaged. Room window in need of repair, could hear everything outside and awful draft. Little facilities to keep you entertained at hotel although m&ds right next door. Staff welcoming and accommodating enough. Standard hotel for stop off if traveling through at good price.
