Myself and my daughter really enjoyed our stay, we had an amazing ground floor room as I requested as she uses a wheelchair, the staff were helpful and friendly, we used the pool which we both enjoyed, the changing room on the poolside was a bit too small once the wheelchair was in but we just about managed, the breakfast was delicious, we'll hopefully be going back again soon

We stayed in a standard room. Everything was fine, if needed to be really picky there was a drain smell in the bathroom which we resolved by running hot water down but nothing to take away from tidy comfortable room, friendly staff and bonus that spa entry was included in the cost which was unexpected at such a good rate

We loved everything about our stay, and would 100% recommend to everyone. Hotel room was spacious and clean, the bathroom as well. The staff were very helpful, the bars were fantastic. Breakfast buffet was very good with a good selection of food. We will be staying again.

Great place , good food reasonable priced, great facilities, lovely treatment and view over golf course would be great in the summer. Definitely go back.

Stayed here for a wedding, receptionist staff were exceptional, room was good, although a little dated (bathroom radiator rusted and shower screen had areas of mould build up from stagnant water). We stayed in a family room, bed was standard and came with coffee and tea making facilities. Ordered 2 soft drinks in the morning at the bar, staff were lovely. The only peeve of the trip was that I ordered two cokes and the bar lady served 2 small bottles costing £5.50 and then once I had poured them informed me that there was Pepsi on tap as an option, which was marginally cheaper. Overall an ok stay, same standard somewhat to premier inn so you know what your getting. We did not experience any of the amenities such as the gym or swimming pool but I’m sure they are fine

We stayed here a few times for business reasons. The staff are all great. The room we had was ABIT small for a doubke. The rooms are dated and need to be refurbished

We had a lovely mini break here. Comfortable, clean and well equipped room. Relaxing pool and poolside jacuzzi. Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. If we come back to the area again we won't hesitate to rebook.

The location of the hotel is great. The staff are very friendly- apart from the ones in the health club area- heard a few choice words being said by the staff. The hotel is nice and I couldn’t fault our roo but like many of the other reviews it needs some updating. There was food left outside our room area which we came across during check in - I mentioned to staff 3x and on checkout it was still there. The lift didn’t work - which isn’t a major deal however could be for others. I wouldn’t be put off staying here again for the right price.

Although there is technically a spa, I expect more from a spa hotel in terms of plush surroundings and a more relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is ok but nothing special

I really enjoy staying at the Abbey as they have great facilities (gym and pool). I was put into a newly refurbed twin room which was very pretty! Will book again!

The pictures and description on various websites are a little misleading. They do have a pool, sauna, steam room and bubble bath, but it was not very clean or atmospheric. People were quite noisy. I was showed the relaxation room, but it looked quite disorganised and judging by the cucumbers in the water that had blatantly not been changed in ages the room wasn't used regularly if at all. Staff are kind, but don't really have the certain attitude of a spa you'd go to to properly relax. I only had a champagne dessert. That was really nice. Overall I didn't really pay much (from memory about £60) I didn't even end up paying for my dessert and drink as apparently something happened with the "ticket" and the checkout lady said she couldn't do anything, so just not to pay. Considering the descriptions etc and the supposed original value (listed as coming down from over £300) I wouldn't recommend it to go to as a relaxing spa experience, maybe as an overnight stay with some facilities.

Nice location in the countryside with great leisure facilities. Very comfortable rooms and nice staff. Food is average but ok. Looking forward to a spring or summer stay to try out the golf facilities.
