レストドット ホステル (Restdot Hostel)

“設備は完璧•快適、スタッフも素晴らしい。だけど、英語が通じない…。”

ホステル自体は文句なく快適。駅からは少し歩くけど、徒歩圏。 屋台とか食べ物にも困らない。スタッフは良い人。だけど、レセプションのお兄さん英語全く出来ない。ちょっとしたこと聞きたくても通じないレベル…。で、オーナーと電話で話すことになる。苦笑 滞在中ホステル側の手違いでちょっとしたトラブルがあったけど、その後のオーナー達の対応は素晴らしかった。

“清潔、スタッフの方々の対応の良さ”

トイレ、シャワールームは清潔そのもの。 ロッカーは大きめのバックパックでも十分入る大きさ。 50Bですが洗濯機もありますし、自分で手洗いするのであれば、スタッフの方に一言かけ屋上で干すこともできます。 スタッフの方々は非常に親切でとにかく気持ちがいい対応でした。 居心地がよく、延泊を続け3泊しました。次も是非泊まりたいです。 唯一難点を上げるとすれば駅から少し遠いくらいでしょうか。

“立地がイマイチかも”

コンビニがあまり近くないので出掛けたついでに買い物をしてました。自分はローカルバスでサイアムのショッピングセンター街に行きましたが、バスの便もあまり良くありませんでした。ホットシャワーでボディーソープとシャンプーは備え付けがありますが、タンクが小さく切れている事も度々ありました。スタッフはフレンドリーで、各ベッドにライトとコンセント2口があったのは良かったです。フロントは深夜早朝不在ですが、携帯番号が貼り出してあり連絡すれば対応していただけるようです(自分は連絡する機会がありませんでした)。

“Very unpleasant”

We booked a private room. When we arrived there was no one at the reception, only a phone number and a phone. We called and were told where the key to our room is. The room smelled like mold and wetness and it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned at all (I have pictures). We asked to move rooms and the only other option was a dorm room (with no one else except for us, at least) BUT there was no room key. We had to sleep in separate beds and we were told that someone will deliver the key for the room the next day. Next day no key and weird excuses and also the day afterwards. We found our room door open after spending the day out. All communication was on the phone, took time and effort and the solutions made us feel very uncomfortable (they told people from a different dorm room that had a key to switch rooms with us, before they confirmed it with us, so they just entered our open room). Also- the dorm room wasn't that clean, bathrooms weren't clean either and the kitchen was very dirty.

“Great wifi, terrible bed”

The price was very good for the location. We stayed for only one night in rom 2A on the second floor. The wifi was very strong (29 mbps) but it got weaker on the higher floors. The wifi wasn't working when we arrived but when the staff restarted the rooter it worked perfectly for the rest of our stay. The room was advertised as 30 sq.m but it was definitely not that size. There are 3 photos available for the double room. The first photo was our room and the other two photos (with the brown blanket) was the other double room on the ground floor, which would have been 30 sq.m. The size of the room didn't bother us, the rooms should just be described by the size they actually are. I'm a light sleeper and there was a thumping noise all night long. At first I thought it was a band playing nearby but when I heard it 6am, I think it could be the piping of the building. My girlfriend slept fine so just don't stay in this room if you're a light sleeper. The air conditioning worked well. The room is also right next to the dorm room so it kind of takes away from the privacy of a double room but that's only a minor issue Thailand is known for having hard beds but this is easily the hardest mattress we've had in our 2 months of travel. I've actually liked some of the hard beds but this was like sleeping on a tiled floor with a bit of padding. Overall, it's fine for one night stay but it's located in a business district away from most things, we only stayed as I had an appointment in the hotel across the way. A cheaper and much better alternative would be the Chic hostel which is located a few miles away in a better location. Similar price range with a pool, good wifi, helpful staff and comfortable bed

“would not go back”

I went there because I had to go to the swiss embassy early in the morning. Location is great for this. Beds were rock hard, had to pay extra for a towel, shared bathroom, no water in the room, and terrible isolation (heard someone skype all night downstairs).

You get what you pay for. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are very good. Good WiFi on room. Would stay there again.

“Nice stay for a few nights”

Me and my friend chose Restdot for 5 nights in BKK. The hostel is not very far from the BTS, thus there are many places to eat and drink along the street. There is a massage store too, you guys should check it out! The staff is very helpful. I asked a guy if I can change to a twin room or not, he called the owner and explained to me carefully since there was no available room left. A girl also helped me with opening my sim card storage. The owners are also super adorable and friendly, such a pleasure to talk with them The room and toilets are very clean. There is always toilet paper, no need to worry xD If the room has a smell, just tell the staff and they will fix the problem ^^ The wifi during my stay was unstable, sometimes we couldn't access to the internet although we were connected in. If you have problem like me, just walk to the nearby 7eleven and buy a tourist sim card ^^

“Perfect little spot for a few nights”

Really cool hostel down a quiet little street, 15 minute walk to metro or BTS station and close to plenty of food options. Rooms were big and comfortable, wifi worked well. we loved the comfy sofa in the common area! Great place to tuck into a delivery pizza if you maybe over indulged in the Chang!! Great to have a kitchen as well. Only thing to note (not a fault of the hostel at all); a few doors down is a very large and playful German Shepard dog, it jumped up at us and chased us down the street, it only wanted to play but if you're scared of dogs just be careful. That said, we only saw it out once on its own.

It's a nice hostel. I even returned there during my second stay in Bangkok. Everything is functioning as it should.

It's a traditional independent run hostel. Ok if you like to mingle with other hostel goers.

“Fine for one night, good location for rooftop bars”

We stayed here because we wanted to be close to a roof top bar so the location was good for that but there's little else around. The staff were friendly, the bed was fairly comfy and the room simple. The wifi was bad despite being in the room right next to reception and towels cost extra to rent. It was ok for one night but wouldn't stay again.

“Many good things to say about Restdot”

I along with my girlfriend booked 2 nights and decided to book another 2 nights after getting to know the staff and meeting so many cool people from all around the world. The space is clean, renovated and fully equipped with the amenities you need to have a comfortable stay. Also, on the last Saturday of the monday (and on other random nights) the staff will host a DOPE pool party. This guesthouse is a must go. Not necessarily a backpackers hostel, but if you have a few more baht to spend then Resdot is the spot.
