The hotel is on a narrow lane only used by delivery and taxis. Across the lane is a jewel of a park with mature trees, fresh plantings and a sculpture fountain. We arrived early, not expecting our room to be ready. Instead, we opted to pay a little more for a larger room on a higher floor with a view of the park. The room was ready for us to use. The room was newly refurbished with both bathtub and large shower. The bed was a little firmer than we had experienced in other Nordic hotels which we liked. My only comment is that the designer didn't lay out the lighting well and getting light onto your face in the bathroom was difficult. The staff is absolutely first class: friendly, prompt, informative, generous with their time. Breakfast is delicious with a la carte offerings as well as full buffet. The ambiance is quiet and not crowded. There is a view of the park and a dining terrace. Also in the hotel is a bar and adjacent restaurant. We were delighted to stay three nights while enjoying the city using public transportation which is available a few steps away. My thanks to the staff.

My Mom and I spent a few days at Rival Hotel, and fell in love with it. The breakfast was amazing, the room was great, we had tea on the balcony and watched the people in the park :) There is a small stand with fruit, cookie, tea and coffee in one of the floors (3, I think?), which truly added a unique touch. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Room was just enough for two. Quiet as i requested. Convenient to be on the coffee and cookies floor. Internet connection was weak and unstable tho.

Great location just a short walk from Gamla yet situated by a wonderful neighborhood garden. But the real highlight for us were the amazing breakfasts.

We have stayed at many places around the world and Hotel Rival is one that we would come back to. Beautifully planned rooms, whistle clean, great food and cocktails and a staff that is focused on their guests. The location of the hotel is a bit away from the tourist attractions but a short walk to the underground brings the whole city to your feet. The concierge, Shawn, is one of the best we have ever worked with. We highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel Rival exceeded my expectations in their customer service. We arrived early in the morning (8:30) after traveling for 24 hrs. Although we arrived expecting to store our luggage while we waited for proper check in time, the very kind employees allowed us to check in early so we could have the much needed nap and shower. We were very grateful. The breakfast served is fresh, diverse and great service. The location is the Soder area with lots of good options for eating and a short walk to the old part of town. Nice park right across the street. Highly recommend this property.

Great Pillow & Bed. Staff was exceptional. Very close to public transport - 10 minutes to City Center. Nice neighborhood and very quiet.

Great hotel, Pleasent part of Stockholm. Loved the decor, the history of the building is well presented in it present usage. Mini bat is expensive, but the breakfast is great.

Excellent location close to subway stations and many cafes and restaurants. I particularly liked the Chinese restaurant across the park from the hotel. Yummy food.

book through Agoda for 5 days 4 nights and extended another 2 days because of the seminar in same hotel at last day . We had the same breakfast menu for the 6 days I was there . Turn down service staff turn down on alternate day which was very strange . Housekeeping staff keep forgetting to place amenities ie shower cap , vanity amenities. In fact daily there is always short of an item

I just loved the Hotel Rival. The rooms ooze fun sophisticated style, and the teddy bear is such a cute addition! The bathroom was lovely and the view from the balcony, overlooking the park in Spring, was perfect. The restaurant blew my mind! I wasn't expecting much, but WOW!! Honestly one of the best meals I've had in years!

“Hotel Rival was a comfortable home in Stockholm”
Hotel Rival is situated in a quiet neighborhood, about a 15-minute walk from Gamla Stan. The front desk staff were very helpful, and the breakfast and housekeeping team can be more cheerful and attentive. The room was spacious, though the bed could have been fresher, and the bathroom floor would benefit from a deeper clean. For those seeking a peaceful area not far from the old town, this property is a good option.
