Soultribe Beach Retreat really is a special spot. It is, however, very different than appears online/instagram. Property is narrow & camping is across a small road. There is only 1 real beach front Private Villa that offers ocean views - rest are stacked behind along the restaurant/lobby. Very beautiful lobby + area, but not 'beach front', rather close to the beach. Pool is small/seems unused. Villa did not have anywhere to put clothing -a little annoying for 4+ nights we booked. Bring your tooth brush inside. There was mouse/rat poop on tables when we woke up - as well as soap chewn. STribe is a solid 15 minute motorbike to any food/bars. Their motorbike worked, but broken gas meter & stalled when riding slow. The family dinner/social gathering is well worth it! Good fish + croquettes + side! (However there is not much alcohol in their mixes) All in all - I would come back for maybe 1/2 nights, but my entire 4 nights I sort of wished I had been downtown for a few of them.

Everything is so beautifully and thoughtfully set up. So clean, simple, and elegant. We stayed in one of the tents for several nights. Each tent has its own little walkway leading up to the entrance, and each surrounded with leafy hedges for more privacy and separation from other tents. Rooms are equipped with umbrellas, ponchos, robes, and towels, even a little hamper and bamboo drying rack for wet clothes. There are common spaces for lounging or yoga practice, and choices of hammocks, couches, and lounge chairs in various spots so it never feels crowded. Such a thoughtfully and beautifully designed space. I can’t wait to go back.

1. Location is far from the main happenings. 2. Food is so-so for the price. 3. Mosquitoes everywhere. Of course this isn't their fault, but just be ready with a bottle of insect repellent. 4. Staff could be friendlier. It takes forever for them to reply via SMS too. 5. It's pretty quiet as it's very secluded. Ironically though, there's blasting music from the locals living at the lot next door. 6. Common area is pretty cozy, there's a second floor deck where you can yoga and meditate, which is pretty awesome! Overall, for its price, there are better accommodations that's more accessible and worth your money. In Siargao, you would like to experience all the different food and tour options. Soul Tribe is 20 mins away from General Luna, where the center is, and Cloud9, where surf sorts are. We were forced to rent a motorbike so we can drive to and from the center.

After 10 days traveling on a low budget and looking to keep our needs very basic.. Soul Tribe has been the cherry on the cake! Amazing place! A dream cabanne and the best way to finish and kick off the new year!
