グランド・カフェ（閉店）を含み全体の1/3～半分程度が改装中で、エントランスも左脇道路の仮入口から入り、階段を3～4段上がればフロントへいけますが、ドアボーイは非常に感じの良い高齢の男性ですが、私たちの到着・出発とも不在で20kgのスーツケースと小型機内持込キャリーバックを計4個自分でフロントへ上げ下ろして非常に疲れましたが、フロントから部屋へはポーターが運んでくれました。 部屋は315号室のデラックスルームで中庭に面し静かで、シーアカーテン付で向かいの部屋から室内は見えないとわかっても、視線が気になり遮光カーテンを閉めてしまいます。 カールヨハン通り側の部屋は毎日夜遅くまでバンドの音が響きうるさそうですが、部屋からの見るカールヨハン通りも魅力です。 内装は特に素晴らしく文化財クラスの物で、天井から大型シャンデリアが下がり、天井高3ｍ以上？、R型ソファーは5～6人座れる大きさで、深めの洋バス・シャワー金具等すべてがコーラー社の24Kメッキ（最高級）にびっくりですが、新しいアンティク風ネコ足テーブル等は、たぶん東南アジア製塗装品で、引き出しが一つもなく非常に使いにくく、洗面はWボールですがひび割れ多数あり、バランスの悪さも感じます。 床・壁・天井・各所塗装等は改装済みですが、洗面所のドアーが多分100年ほど前の美しいアンティク物を補修してあるのですが、開閉時に丁番がギーギーなったり（夜トイレへ行くと毎回相方が起きてしまいます。）、ベット脇の床下地の歪みを直さず、ミャンマーチーク（超貴重品）の無垢フローリングを張ったり、浴槽排水を流すと排水管が１００年前？洗面床の排水口から逆流し床が水浸しで室内へ流れ出しそうになったりと、元の建物が素晴らしいため、改修技術の雑な部分が目立ちますが、改修工事がすべて完了した時にはもっと素晴らしくなることを期待します。 スタッフは全員が素晴らしく、フロントは男女ともにこやかに挨拶してくれます。 市庁舎前で土曜のPM4時頃に非常に混んでいる感じの良いレストランを見つけ、店の看板を写真にとり、PM５時頃フロントの女性に見せて今夜の予約をお願いすると、希望の7時から簡単に予約を取ってくれましたが、レストランへ行ってびっくり、市庁舎の正面玄関や時計が見える最高の席に案内され他は満席です、もちろん料理・サービス・料金も300NOK/１名（スターター＋メイン）で大満足でした。 ホテルの朝食は３泊共同じで、前泊のラディソントロムソ（３泊）と内容がほとんど同じ、サラダ・スープなし（フルーツ・ミニトマト・きゅうり・ピーマンはあり）違いは生サーモンが２種類とミックスジュースがあった程度でパンは美味しいと思いますが、他国と比較すると4つ星ホテルでは少し劣るレベルかな？2泊目からはあきました。 室内清掃は毎日清潔で、パスタオル・アメニティー共変えてくれます。 枕銭は初日USドルで置いたら受け取ってくれましたが、２日目からNOクローネで置いたら受け取ってくれません。 １３０年前の建物を維持し続けることは、コストのみをを考えると出来ないと思いますが、オスロの町全体が古く良い建築を大切に使い続けている町で、これからもこの文化財ホテルを大切に維持し続けて頂きたいと思います。

ベッドがフカフカ過ぎましたが掃除が行き届き快適な部屋でした。外の音が気になりましたが問題はない程度です。 最高級ホテルながらスタッフは冷たい感じがしました。コンシェルジュも適当な感じです。日々観光客に接している人にありがちなおざなり感満載でした。残念でした。

中庭に面したダブルベッドルーム。景色を楽しむものではないが、元来当地の気候がどんよりとして薄暗いので表に面してうるさいよりはよかったと思う。日本語のTVチャンネルはないがCNNとBBCは入っていた。ビジネスの会議が多く解されているようで、日中のロビーは賑やか。設備に不満は全くなく、価格もリーズナブルなので次回も利用したいと思った。

My wife and I are on a two month trek through Europe and we spent three nights at the Grand Hotel. The staff could not have been more accommodating, the cleanliness and beauty of the old hotel was present. Yes, it is quite pricey, but it is a wonderful treat for a very special occasion and a slice of old or slow from 125 years ago. felt everywhere.

A very pleasant visit to the Grand Hotel Oslo. Amazing atmosphere, service, geolocation - good in the city. All the best attractions, Stortinget, City Hall, Royal Palace, Acker Brygge, the best shops and so on - everything is nearby. I especially want to note Ajin - the best employee, solving all issues and lifting the mood. A person with amazing energy and care. Thank you very much for the warmth and comfort! Dinner, afternoon tea in Palmen and tomorrow in the Grand Cafe - very good! Tasty and satisfying. Also in the hotel there are many works of art by Norwegian artists - this art brings a special Norwegian mood even in bad weather - you can admire the art without leaving the hotel - it's nice!

Staying at Grand Hotel Oslo is like stepping into a piece of history. The location is iconic, the building is beautiful, and the service is truly excellent — staff are helpful, polite, and always ready to assist. Breakfast is another highlight, offering a wonderful selection in a lovely setting. However, some aspects of the stay fall short. The facilities are just average. There are unexpected short stairs between the elevators and both the reception and the rooms — not ideal for travelers with large luggage or mobility concerns, and no prior notice was given. Parking is another challenge. The entrance to the underground parking is tight and hard to navigate. Clearer signage or a proactive offer from staff to handle the parking would improve the experience. Overall, it’s worth a visit for the history and hospitality — just be prepared for a few practical inconveniences.

This is a lovely hotel in the center of the city. Everything is within walking distance, and the subway and train station are very near. Getting from the airport is a breeze. The bad side is that the rooftop bar doesn't work for days a week. The only thing that was available from the hotel was the restaurant. Nothing worked in the evening. The staff was friendly. The room was spacious, with just enough decor. The window was slightly open on arrival. The widows are outdated. The room was, therefore, quite cold. The heating was on the chilly side, primarily due to poor insulation. But the side street was quiet, so there were no issues there. We would gladly stay here again. I hope the heating will work better. And don't forget, this is where the Nobel Peace Prize laureates stay traditionally. That alone is pretty cool.

My job is very physical, so over the last 2 years I have been taking myself away on solo city breaks when I need to recharge my batteries and want a breather from London life. One of my close friends recently visited Olso and loved it, so a week ago I booked my flight and was so excited about my Norwegian adventure! As a solo traveler, where I stay is super important to me, always opting for a 5-star hotel where you know you will be guaranteed safety, great service, a quiet room, and a good night's sleep. With a spa included in the facilities, The Grand Hotel seemed like the perfect place, so when I saw a great deal on Agoda, I booked it without hesitation. First impressions: The hotel from the outside and inside the lobby is absolutely stunning! The Christmas lights were gorgeous and everything had a touch of old world-class about it. I could not wait for this experience! I checked in and got to my room and, unfortunately, the room was really disappointing. Firstly, it was absolutely freezing, the door had been left open to the balcony, and my room smelt of cigarettes. As it was 4• outside, you so look forward to a nice, cozy bedroom, but it was colder inside the room and the radiator took agesssss to heat up. The carpets were worn, stained and dirty. No automatic locking on the door. There were footprints on some of the wooden furniture and everything was just really dated. The hairdryer, no usb cable port for phone charging, empty lotion bottle, hot water that also took ages to heat up, it just didn’t even meet the basics of a 3 star. However, the bed looked super comfy and the room was quiet, so as long as those things are good, I am happy, but there is no way I would have paid the full price for this room. And then… As I go to sleep at 1030pm, looking forward to a good sleep after being up since 3am that morning, I’m woken up at 11:30pm to the loudest base and drum kit pounding through my walls. I rang reception, and they informed me that there was an event going on until 1:30am… why on earth they chose to put guests directly underneath this at a 5-star hotel. I have no idea. After being on hold for 20 minutes, I am given a new room, and have to pack up everything, transport all my stuff in the middle of the night in my pyjamas without help from the 7th floor to the second floor. The room I was given was better than my current one, and there was now no sound, but still absolutely freezing. Unfortunately, on top of this, although visually very serene, the spa was very dirty and the pool was closed for one of the days I was there. They did, however, discount entrance to the spa on this day. The worst part was the staff, which I’m so sad about as they are usually a highlight of a 5-star experience. The lobby staff were always very cold and unfriendly, apart from the lady who checked me out on the last day. But generally, I was wondering if I was reading their energy wrong, and if it was just a difference of cultures, but everyone in restaurants and cafés was so nice, this place was the only place that wasn’t. People are human, and as someone who has worked in hosting a lot, I get that hotel work is tiring, but everyone here just seemed so cold all the time. The general vibe of the staff at the grand hotel was like the Plaza in Home Alone 2. I absolutely loved Oslo, but this hotel was the only downside of my trip. I’m not sure if it’s because I got a deal and therefore my business was not worthy of receiving the true grand hotel experience, but either way, I still paid a lot of money and the fact it didn’t even meet the basic standards of what it promised is such a shame. I will not be returning to this hotel and advise solo travelers to look at booking the Amerikalinjen or Sommerro instead.

Excellent stay, superb location, attentive staff. One area for improvement - restaurant/bar and Grand Cafe in the Hotel operates as complete separate entities without option to order things from each other menu. Little strange and inconvenient as they are located in the same area/room :) Other then that - HIGHLY recommended
