When I am starting to chidambaram I called the hotel and asked if they have any rooms available. 2 times they didn't pick the call and one time a person picked and said I can come directly and take the room. When I called after an hour someone attended the call and when I asked for room they disconnected. I already checked and the room is available in agoda site but when I reached hotel and asked for room and a hotel staff(He is a supervisor) said no room available only suite room available and it would cost Rs.4000+tax. i said in agoda the room is available he never listen and just tried to ignore. After that I came out of the hotel and booked the room thru' agoda and then came to hotel again. This time the rude supervisor said there is no room available and will try to give alternate room and made me to wait for 30 mins. Coming to Room. It's a OK type room with dirty sofa. Broken intercom phone. The hotel staff behaving like as if they are giving rooms for free. As a traveller I really got irritated by the staff behavior.

Decent hotel, good rooms. Very close to temple but reasonably quiet. Maybe slightly overpriced for quality? Basic breakfast (Indian only) included.

One thing that need to be very clear is the reality to be shown in the picture when we explore for options. Most of the time we get disappointed after physically seeing the place (your imagination from the website prior to booking based on the photos is quite different from reality). Overall a moderate experience. The courtesy of the front desk manager can improve.

We stayed for one night to visit the temple and for us this was a good choice: - Perfect location, just 5 minutes walking distance from the temple - We had the executive suite which was huge, airy and quiet, the furniture, however, had seen better times - Our room as well as the bathroom were clean, nothing to complain about - The staff was very friendly and helpful - For Europeans, the breakfast offered only a very limited selection. It would be a good idea to repaint all the walls throughout the hotel; this would make a much better first impression.

The hotel rooms are terribly dirty, small, smelly, old property and unlike what you are viewing on websites. The people are saying no options and only this hotel is good among the rest. we immediately went out from the hotel after seeing the rooms and cancelled the stay in chidambaram.

Pleasant enough business hotel. Large, light room with equally large bathroom. Basically very clean (bed, towels, surfaces etc) but walls and doors throughout the hotel looked grubby. Menu was very limited but had a surprisingly good dinner and breakfast was ok too. Wifi is only possible in the nonAC lobby.

The rooms the toilets and the beds were clean as were the hallways etc. Room service was poor and the geyser( water heater) in the bathrooms were not in working condition leading to unnecessary delays in getting ready on time.

We booked this hotel n paid full amount for two days. Due to cyclone varda our flight from Delhi was diverted to Hyderabad for a day. We got one day behind our schedule. These people charge us one more day unnecessarily.We were very very disappointed.

Lift was too old fashioned. Guests not briefed on how to use them. Restaurant does not look cheerful, food being a little too pricey. No laundry services. You need to ask for info regarding places of interest, wi fi access. Information is not volunteered. They should be retrained in promoting tourism. I had to encourage an attendant to smile and look happy.

Everything about the Hotel Akshaya made it a home away from home. In Chidambaram to visit the Nataraj temple and then travel throughout Tamil Nadu, there has been no hotel as pleasant, clean and comfortable as the Akshaya. Just 5 minutes from the temple, quiet, with tiled bathrooms, no shortage of hot water, crisp white linens and bright rooms, it did not disappoint. But it was the attentive, gracious, hospitable, helpful hotel and restaurant staff that deserves a 10+. Welcoming, friendly, accommodating and concerned (when I was ill for one day and when I was about to begin a solo road trip with a hired driver southward) I looked forward to returning "home" for a cool rest in my reliable AC room and in the delicious vegetarian restaurant popular not only with hotel guests, but also the locals. I would stay there again and again. After my road trip in Tamil Nadu I am now in Varanasi and missing the comfort and pleasure of the Hotel Akshaya; nothing came close. Highly recommended. Nandri!!

“Value for Money”
I must say this, during our stay in Chidhambaram during the Mahashivarathiri week was absolute bliss. Akshaya hotel made our live even easier to as it was strategically located to access to teple via East Car Street entrance. Room setting was modern, bathroom was clean, room services were great. No bed bugs issue. Surely will come back again and will recommend this hotel to my peers. Thank you for your hospitality.
