This hotel situated near the main entrance of the village, the room is good even thought the hotel is very historical. The price for the room is cheap hence super value for money. Stay 2 night here and have some pleasant time in this small historical village. for 2nd day i take bus from the entrance of the village (tickets sale on visitor info center) to Hongcun, 6 yuen per person per way. Last day i take bus from the same place to tunxi (18 yuen) then from tunxi take bus back to hangzhou (90 yuen)

Xidi Travel Lodge was a perfect choice for my wife's and my visit to Xidi. I say perfect because we are not Chinese, and it was the only hotel that could accept foreigners that we saw INSIDE the town, as opposed to one or two large and new places a kilometer or so out of town. We saw some nice smaller guest houses, but they had not gone through the paperwork to be able to accept foreign guests. The hotel is composed of several old Huizhou residences strung together, and although the gardens haven't been kept up and in some ways the hotel is a little dilapidated, our "Super Deluxe" room was excellent and not expensive. The dining room is in a traditional, large Huizhou hall that we loved, and the Chinese food, including Chinese breakfast, was good. Our one complaint was that when we asked the hotel staff how to get to its co-UNESCO Heritage Site, Hongcun village, they didn't tell us that there was a tourist center right outside the gate of the village, just 80 yards from the hotel, where we could book tickets on an air conditioned bus for US$1.00 apiece and instead insisted on promoting their own vehicle, which we could charter for over $25. That wasn't right. They should have told us both options and let us choose. The buses are comfortable and they run twice an hour.

The deluxe rooms we stayed in was wonderful. The design in antique and kept in good condition. A very good experience to stay in such old looking rooms which is well maintained. Will definitely go back there again.

I had a very enjoyable stay at the Xidi Travel Lodge. It is beautifully preserved and provides a tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The manager was especially helpful with a special meal in the evening and then helping me to purchase a bus ticket to Hangzhou. Xidi, itself, is a fascinating place rich in history and situated in the rural heartland of Anhui.

it's the best place to stay because the hotel is the first house that you see when you pass ticket checking point. You should have dinner here, in a very old house modified to a restaurant, try to taste local food and warmly service.

Great stay. Hotel manager Mr Chen was super helpful and he spoke perfect English so there should not be any problem communicating. The place is very quiet so would recommend this hotel for people who come to Xidi/Hongcun area or even as a stop before/after hiking up Huangshan.

We only stayed overnight here so we could explore the Xidi ancient village and were pleased with the hotel and its proximity to everything we wanted to see.

The room rate on agoda was much higher than that posted on the wall when we arrived at the hotel - even the price on the wall was more than you should be paying for a room in rural China. The room was nice enough but there were no other facilites of note. Great location in the heart of the old village of Xidi, which is remarkable - if a little touristy at times and in places.

This is an excellent hotel. The location is at the entrance of the Xidi ancient town just in front of the famous archway so it is a great base to visit Xidi and just a half hour drive to Hongcun. Parts of the hotel building have been restored from ancient buildings so it has a lovely quaint ambience. The staff were helpful and service excellent. The restaurant food was very good as well. The bathroom was well equipped.

We were deposited outside the village square / entrance to the village proper, where we had to purchase tickets to enter. We had to lug our luggage to the hotel on our own as the van or car is not allowed into the village! The hotel staff was friendly, but porter service was non-existent. We requested for porter service to send our luggage up to our rooms, but after waiting for some time, we thought it better to lug our luggage to the rooms ourselves. Upon reaching the rooms, which is some distance away from the Reception Area, the porter(s) arrived and expected to be tipped! The hotel retained its old flavour viz a country house in a Qing Village and we can see some wall murals left on the wall in some state of preservation. We left the rooms for a brief tour of the village of XiDi and was pleasantly surprised by the state of preservation on the whole. Apparently the people still lived in their own premises and the everyday items used date back to the Late Qing and Early Republic days! Glorious traditional AnHui/Wei Zhou Cuisine was available and we had a great dinner just nearby - and the bill was very reasonable.

The village of Xidi is very beautiful the Hotel garden is very nice and relaxing, Very romantic. all in all not a good location to visit the yellow mountain. It costs about 285 Y to get to XIDI from TUNXI. to enter the village costs another 104 Y p.p than a taxi to the yellow mountain another 300 Y return. The room is very simple and the bed is too hard. The Hotel manager speaks good English and is very helpful.

The hotel is so far the most awesome building i ever lived in! It is situated inside the cultural heritage site and is great! Only downside to this place is that when you want to enter the hotel area they ask you to buy a ticket for that place that costs 104 rmb, we refused to pay it and the hotel manager took care of it. Hotel manager is called joseph and he is such a great and awesome guy! He also got us western breakfast and we enjoyed the stay a lot! This was the coolest hotel i have ever been to!! Strange thing is that the price is much more expensive on Agoda than it is in the hotel when you come there, price about 20 dollars more on agoda than on site! But its pretty much worth it

L'hôtel est situé à l'entrée du village donc très facile à trouver. L'hôtel se compose de plusieurs bâtiments respectant l'architecture locale et les lieux sont agréables et tranquilles. Notre chambre était très confortable et l'accès se faisait par la cour intérieure. Salle de bain moderne avec très grande douche. Par contre, le petit déjeuner (chinois uniquement) mériterait une amélioration (peu de choix et pas très chaud).

A l’entrée du village de XIDI, Travel lodge est très bien situé. La chambre est simple mais confortable avec douche et WC. Le système de transport par autocars permet d’accéder facilement aux autres villages. Le patron parle parfaitement anglais.

L'arrivée de nuit fut un moment assez magique : le calme , les étoiles , la montagne , le batiment d'une grande beauté . On voyage dans le temps . Le chauffeur venu me chercher à l'aéroport fut d'une grande gentillesse . Le réveil avec les oiseaux , assez rare en Chine , le petit déjeuner traditionnel dans de la belle vaisselle , tout cela commençait bien le séjour. Le jardin pour se reposer pendant les heures de pointe des touristes , le petit banc en bambou sur la terrasse pour travailler sur mon ordinateur le soir venu . La restauration du batiment reste simple et authentique ce qui renforce le sentiment de voyager dans le temps . En même temps la salle de bain est très moderne et c'est un vrai plaisir et confort .
