It's a good hotel to stop our long drive from down south to Cairns. Next to Esplanade and plenty of restaurant to choose for dinner.

We have stayed at the Aquarius previously and it’s in a great location. The view is amazing (if you’re on the 4th floor and above. The room itself was ok and it has everything you might need. The shower rose in room 405 could be replaced and the water pressure was also only ok.

We had one night at Aquarius on the strand. All rooms have a balcony and face the ocean. Rooms are neat and tidy with all your usual amenities. Location is excellent right on the beach. The car park was full but many easy access parking spots directly in front of the hotel with more behind the hotel. For *** per night we will definitely be back.

Nice place. Apartments well appointed and views over to Magnetic Island excellent. Im not sure the lower floors (L1-3) are as good due to trees. Only complaint is wifi. Press the Netflix button on the TV and it struggles, didn't connect. Offering wifi that has a poorer quality of service than a mobile is not an advantage!! Fix it or turn it off.

If you are arriving late make sure you call! There’s no after hours reception and you need instructions for access. Otherwise the rooms are a good size and reasonably well appointed. They’re getting old and need a refresh but you cannot beat the location.

The room we were given was OK -- not great but OK. I liked the design of the hotel where all rooms have an ocean view. The location is great if you want to be on The Strand with lots of restaurants, bars & the beachfront walkway. It's a pain if you want to be in or get to the CBD part of town. They're strict with check out times. We don't "move well" in the morning so I asked if we could check out at 10:30 and not 10:00. After looking at the reservations for the next day the front desk person said "No, we're full, you have to leave by 10". Fair enough, they're running a business; I didn't think 30 mins extra would be a problem but it was so we made sure we left before 10.
