Thanks for taking the time to review us Liam. Would you care to elaborate on the rating of 2 with the comments of "Awful" and "Gross"? If you had experienced any problems, it would have been handy if you could have voiced those concerns to management during your 6 day stay. Considering you extended your stay with us, I would have thought that you were in fact enjoying your stay with us. Kind Regards Management

This is a really great pub accomodation. The bigger rooms are recommended. The brilliant staff are always very willing to be of assistance and bend over backwards for the guests. Great value!

They accepted the booking, but when the boys checked in, they were informed that the double and single rooms were no longer available. After working all day, the boys expected to have their own beds to sleep in, but there was only one king bed available. As a result, one of them had to sleep without a mattress. The booking should not have been accepted if these rooms were unavailable. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and discomfort.
Hi Jennifer, Im sorry that you had this experience whilst staying at our venue. I have been making enquiries into your booking to get to the bottom of what's happened and I don't seem to be able to find your booking for a twin bed room during August. The only information I have under your name is that you were a solo traveller and had booked a single bed room for 1 night. Im sorry for the mess up and for what seemed like an ordeal for your boys and do hope that you will consider us for future stays. I do, however suggest that if you require a certain bed set up, you may like to call the hotel directly to make the booking so that this sort of thing will not happen again, as the 3rd party online booking systems can be very vague when processing specific details. Unsafe stairs to reach the accommodation. Appreciate this is an older construction, but the stair case is difficult to navigate. No secure parking available. Room portrayed on the booking page bears absolutely no resemblance to the room provided. Room was noisy with delivery trucks below, however, bedding is comfortable and room clean. Would not be my first choice next time.
Thanks for taking the time to review us. Im sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. Our staircase is a safe structure. We wouldn't be able to trade if it wasn't safe. Yes they are steep but they are not unsafe. The rooms portrayed on the 3rd party booking system that you booked through are advertising double bed rooms. You booked a single bed room. The only difference to the actual rooms portrayed in the photos are different coloured Linen on the beds and the actual size of the bed. We don't have a private car park however the public car park at the rear of the hotel is very safe and we have never had any issues with any of our guests staying with us, or our staff who park their cars there every day and night. I am sorry that you could hear delivery trucks out the back of the venue. Unfortunately, as our building is over 110 years old, her walls are a little thin and as you have booked to stay at a venue that is listed as budget accommodation, I think that you should g

Microwave would've been handy

The hotel is conveniently located near the bus/railway station. The manager, Lisa was very warm and helpful.

Very basic room, very old and dated, noisey with pub music till early hours, and room was opposite bottle shop chiller which switches on and off regular and was so noisy it wakes you up.
Im sorry to see that you were not happy with your overall stay with us. As our hotel is 110 years old, we feel she has held up fairly well over the years and our rooms are quite lovely for budget accomodations. Thank you for taking the time to review us David. For a pub room was very comfortable. Clean. Food wasn't the best. Plenty off options if you want to eat out.on the other hand was comfortable.

Everything was great but I wasn't able to enjoy a morning cuppa as they had forgotten to provide a cup/mug in my room

The cost of the accommodation is cheap. I would stay again but not on a Friday or Saturday night. Music till 2am both nights with very noisy guests staying at the hotel. After 3am before it was quiet.
