So nice to stay in a piece of Broome history, small boutique accomodation. Staff friendly and very helpful, nice complementary breakfast including still warm freshly baked bread. Easy walk around the corner to Matsos for lunch or dinner.

Beautifully restored historic home offering a boutique hotel experience. Fine linen, tissues, toilet paper & towels. Gourmet breakfast included. We would stay here again.

Wonderful stay at McAlpine. Small boutique Broome style close to town. Car reccommended. Particularly enjoyed breakfasts under covered pergola where you get to meet other guests at hotel. Very peaceful and relaxing. Also enjoyed beautiful decor. Would stay again. Would stay again.

“Broome W.A. in July”

Broome is a great place to go to in early July to escape the cold of the southern states winter. Mcalpine House Hotel is a great place to stay. Its not the most modern fitted out hotel. It is situated in a warmer climate in July and is close to the Town Beach and walking distance to Chinatown. There is a regular local bus service nearby which stops at Chinatown & Cable Beach. With its old world style, Mcalpine House has some minor draw backs as it is basically a renovated old homestead the drawbacks are more than well countered by the warmth and friendliness of personel, Marilyn (owner) and Ronaldo (a knowledgeable, do anything Mr Fixit)

“My new favourite hotel”

What a treasure this place is! I wish I'd found it before staying in some of the bland, modern hotels in Broome. It's beautiful, charming and very good value for money. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. I wish I'd been able to stay longer.

Highly recommend a stay in this beautiful hotel, After a day touring around it was so nice to return and have a swim in the pool ! Close to good transport sysytem................and restaurants

Excellent Hotel - very friendly staff. Swimming pool area nice and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and all guest sat together around a large table to share experiences of their travels etc

“Good value, good hotel, great staff”

Very enjoyable, staff could not be more friendly or efficient. One lady did everything. If staff is important to you, this is is one of the best hotels ever. I'm delighted I picked this one, but I hadnt realised how difficult it is to get around broome. Best to organise transport in advance. The room needed a desk n a chair for writing.

“Great traditional Broome home with great service”

Step back in time in this former Pearling Master's house. Lovingly restored and full of character but with modern amenities (air con, bathrooms, pool etc)Shady gardens with dining and relaxing areas among the rain forest trees this is an oasis in the heart of Broome. Staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had an evening flight out and they were quite happy for us to stay and relax there after we had checked out and use the pool etc. Will definitely return

“Lovely hotel in a beautiful tropical garden ”

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel until it came time to leave. The hotel had no record of our payment through Agoda and we were asked to pay again before we departed. It has taken numerous phone calls and emails to Agoda and Pinctada to finally resolve the matter-in all it has taken 8 days. If we had not persisted we wonder just how long it would have taken to refund our money as their accounting system seems to leave a lot to be desired.

“Lovely ambience”

Misleading advert - no restaurant available, just dinner parties for 12, which have to be pre-arranged. Inconvenient to have no service after 3pm. Prue was very helpful, and a charming lady. The rating for food below, is poor because of the lack of a restaurant. As stated above, the continental breakfast was very nice.

“Old World Charm”

It was nice to step back in time to a bygone era yet have all the mod cons. I stayed in one of 2 Library rooms on the upper floor and could sit out on the verandah overlooking the pool or relax with a wine and book in the Library. Although there were other guests staying at the time I never saw anyone as it is so private.
